That would be good, for the list also. I really like the rememberance plaque to her on that object. The person who took me there respectfully brushed away the dust and dirt that had natually accumulated on it before we jumped. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Newbie pond swooping, tips, tricks, advice?
cpoxon replied to Peej's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
I tried to drag a toe once, but I cheated and went across the width of the swoop pond! Ended up dunking my whole foot in the water! Luckily I wasn't travelling too fast and it didn't pull me over! I was demoing a Vengeance 150 at the time. I managed to swoop the length of the pond but chickened out and travelled alongside of it. I think I would have made it (maybe not if I'd 'dragged a toe')! This was 2.5 years and 1000 jumps ago. Haven't been near water since Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live -
Cale Yarborough's sport death jump story

Isn't that a dirty high pull for a 1958 show jump?! Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live -
Yes, Tony makes them as well. Look at the 4-way pants with booties Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Please research "gripe" The moderators (and ex ) are in agreement here. I don't want to spoil people's fun, but I would like to see topical posts outnumber the banter in here as I think the balance is off at the moment (and you guys are demonstrating that right now in this thread). If you could a least post something relevant then I'd probably let it slide... If you wish to discuss this any further, please PM me. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Ended up deleting Betsy's confirmation when I tried to delete Glen's one-liner: Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Thanks Phree. I was just really curious because it was really one of my more innocent posts. Sorry Jim, my fault. It got culled along with a load of unrelated one-liners. Next time, make sure you don't tag your response to one of them For the record, this is what you said: Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

I think it was on headdown.net, who asked us not to mirror their videos and now they are gone. Does anyone know the headdown.net guys? WOuld they let us host the videos now? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Would it? Wouldn't that put the tail of the canopy even closer to the object and for what benefit? The purpose of the bungee isn't to short-line the bridle, it's to manage it until it is time to pay out in the deployment sequence. Also, what happens if the static-line breaks prematurely and you are towing the pilot-chute in your burble with a really short-bridle at very low airspeeds? I don't like them because when I pack I stick a stake through the rings or tie them together with a pull-up and you can't do that with streamlined stealth. Wouldn't stop me from buying a Gargoyle though. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

You asked who would (could) have been saved. The exisiting laws worked only in so much as the were used to prosecute wrong doing, they did not prevent it. Mayfield had his instructor ratings suspended a month before; if it was illegal to teach without ratings then maybe he wouldn't have taught/dispatched or somebody else might have reported him, preventing him from doing so. I wouldn't call him a wannabe. According to his IMDB entry, he's being doing professional stunts on screen since 1999. His website is http://www.thestuntbase.com. He's also been doing BASE for quite a while. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live
