After Willem turning up last month, this month's surprise visitor was Katie Melua! How cool was that?! (Even though it was only pointed out to me as she was leaving). Apparently she's done a couple of static-lines and would now like to do AFF! Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Very cool Michael! Not only for developing it, but for releasing it as well. Unfortunately I don't have a funtional Palm at the moment. I wonder if it will work under a Windows Mobile Emulator? Emulators tend to struggle when you get down down to the port layer though. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

I think this is way out of line too and I think the journalist is scum. This may be a public website but I wish the journalist would have respected the boundaries of the community here. Do we have to lock everything down so only a few people can read? Then we run the risk of people missing out on information that is pertinent to them. However, playing Devil's advocate, Too late :-/ Good point. Not such a good point. The fact that it is on a public website means that it's not private grief. I know what you are getting at, and I allude to the same thing with my comment about respecting boundaries of the community, but if the paper want to play it by the rules, isn't that what they are going to say? I really respect Gillian for having the courage to say what she did but I really despise the journalist for trying to capitalise on it :-( Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

How about a watch for keywords in threads that you are notified about via email as they occur similar to Google Alerts? Edit: with a forum specific filter Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

A metal disc placed under a sprung-loaded pilot chute in order to give it a solid platform to launch from and also prevent the spring from burrowing back into the free-packed canopy. Commonly used in belly-mount reserves. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Is this accurate enough for the intended use her? From GPS Altitude Readout > How Accurate (which is admittedly quite old), it says: So with the altitude error compounding the horizontal, plus a lag from averaging, are you getting useful data or are you flying reacting to data that was wrong 5 seconds ago even before it was smoothed out? What he said I've been searching for a reference for this. I remember a previous quote saying something about needing a lot of space to land it but can't find it. Anyone else remember it? Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

I think the Crossfire 330 was a joke (although if they made an FX285 for someone, I guess there's no reason they couldn't make the Crossfire, although I'd make it a Crossfire2 ;-)) but I put a video of me surfing a Hop 330, up on skydivingmovies.com There are also Icarus 330s, Next 340s, Sigma 340s and Firebolt 298s out there which are going to be quite sporty Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Judging by the size and shape of the door, it looks like they are jumping from an AN2, a huge, slow flying (it has a stall speed of 35-40 kts) Russian biplane, which is not uncommon overthere. So, I'm guessing they did a standing, poised exit, exiting pretty much in the same orientation in which they were captured in the picture. I've done the same exit from Let 410s, G92s (Do-28) and Nomads with adult tandem students. I'm sure the same is possible from an Otter. That's because the guy said it was a sport rig, not a tandem. I refer the honourable member to my previous response. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

I think it's a cache thing. Try right-mouse clicking on the actual link to the attachment and chose Save Target As. Alternatively, delete you temporary internet files and then you should be able to save the picture from the picture itself. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

I own a Jonathan & Fletcher suit, specifically for Speed Skydiving. The suits are also used by Style jumpers (with small fins on the calves) in order to generate less drag and increase speed. This lack of drag can make a no lift dive very difficult to control in conjunction with the increase in speed. Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

Direct link Caption says, Belgium's Johan Vervoort gestures while leaping from Malaysia's landmark KL Tower in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, Aug. 27. Vervoort is among 80 BASE (Building, Antenna, Span and Earth) jumpers who are in Kuala Lumpur for the upcoming 49th anniversary of the country's independence, recognized on Aug. 31. The Daily Mail newspaper in the UK had a couple of page spread the other day, also featuring a couple of pictures of Johan. One looked like he was getting off with his legs crossed with his hands making "inverted V" signals! The caption to that said he had 600 jumps, but I heard that Johan actually made his 1000th out there, and was thrown off the tower! Nice one brother!
