Wow. You're one hell of a friend. But, If he doesn't know about it how do you know he would pay for this "companion".... I definitely understand where you're coming from. What you should do is get your wife involved. Certainly she has some single friends that are up for Belize... Also. What are you some bad ass skydiver?? J/K I pretty sure we don't know each other. We may know some of the same people (originally from FW and started jumping around Austin)... I may be jumping in Dallas during Thanksgiving week so I'll look for you RANDY!!!

Why wouldn't he just go by himself?? Seems weird to me to NEED a woman to go on vacation. Especially a skydiving vacation. Some of the best times I've had were going places solo. Certainly there will be some feminitas in Belize. Actually, I know there are because I've been there..... If he takes me I will guarantee to get him some ladies..... Seriously, convince him to go even if there isn't someone for him to go with.... BLUE HOLE!!!

I've done a couple balloon jumps a in september. I got 3500 the first jump and 3000 the last time I did it. On that last jump I waited about 10 sec and ended up pulling at around 2200ft. So for me 10 sec and 800 foot drop. Balloon jumps are great!! HAVE FUN! Oh, and it costed me $70 dollars a jump....

Of course he doesn't care who packs his canopy, its not a velocity 111. Its a 215 sf canopy. Rocket science is very simple compared to the complexity of a parachute......haha

Dude, Are you kidding about this post?? You Jump a freaking 215sf canopy and only have 40 pack jobs. This is about a high performance canopy not a humongous student canopy. Have you ever jumped a VELOCITY loaded at 2.2??? Also, I don't think anybody said for sure that this was a step-through.

I miss Capitol as well. I tend to like the smaller DZs as well. But, Capitol changed in like 6-07 so I am assuming you haven't jumped there since then. I started in 2-07 and after a few months all the "fun" people seemed to scatter. Gravity Rats grew from that scatter.

How could you not like the twin otter?? Is the door too big? Is there too much room to stand up inside?? Seriously though, I am curious.

They only go to 10000ft in boulder (colorado skysports) but in longmont (mile hi skydiving) they go to 12500ft. Almost the same elevation, I think a couple hundred feet difference. We don't fall out of the sky any faster or slower (or at least its negligible) than at sea level. The real difference however is under canopy. If you are jumping at sea level and come jump here its pretty much like downsizing. You come in a lot faster. IMO flare is not as great either.... I was out jumping in San Diego after a bunch of jumps in longmont and my canopy felt super slow. It seriously felt like it wouldn't turn fast at all.

Actually I just got an email and they (Temple)are only charging $22 dollars a load!!! I have been to San Marcos many a time and didn't ever get free beer...... If I want to jump out of an Otter this weekend it will cost me $27 a jump. That is not cool. Plus no free beer. YEAH MILE HI

Is Capitol closed forever??? Anybody, know?? I just ran into Ken at the tunnel here in Denver and he told me he now jumps in San Marcos. I was sad to hear that Gravity Rats Skydving Center didn't make it..... I heard Temple had an Otter last weekend. They may have it this weekend too. I sure miss jumping at all those places. This is kinda random but I think I talked to you (lisamarie) a year and a half ago about buying your husbands rig or canopy. Just a small world..... BLUESKIES

If you are worried you should probably just go ahead and upsize..... Is this right? Only 40 jumps and a wingloading of 1.23 spread out over two years? I would think somebody would have suggested a bigger canopy. I mean doing the math you are like over 210 lbs out the door. Why wouldn't you start with a 210 or 190?? Anyways, just curious. Not trying to burn.... BlueSkies and Warm Sun!!

The fucking balloon would only go to 3000' I wanted more but thats all we could get. The air was too thin to go any higher.... Im not just going to hop n pop when I am paying $70 bucks a jump. Post edited. Your one warning. No PA's.

Uhhhh. Because its shit loads of fun. Ive done almost that same scenerio twice and had plans to do it last weekend (winds)..... In your 3xx jumps you havn't done a balloon jump?? I just don't get this statement. Calm down? What are you referring to??
