Skydive Arizona is doing balloon jumps any day of the week either at 7:30AM or 4:00PM. All they need is 4 people to committ. The balloon holds up to 8 and they will do up to two loads per time slot. ($75 to 5000ft)

Get out there before noon for better winds, I thought the winds got funky after noon but before seemed okay..... I was there in 8-07 which was like a month before the girl that had problems there that resulted in the 150jump limitation (skydive hawaii).... At that time Pacific was jumping a king air and I preferred the caravan, that is why I jumped at one over the other..... HAVE FUN

LOL.... We should shoot this douche an email to that effect..... Just saw the advert today. RIDICULOUS!! Although I did order some
-
I'd say no. I was very conscious of that before my jumps. 16 jumps total

I was really trying to study it while under canopy and the only thing that seemed out of alignment was possibly the side (stabilizers). It seeemed to me like the left side was somewhat shorter??? The tail seems good to me... I would probably know more but I haven't been jumping at my home DZ so I haven't been able to talk to my rigger about this. I also injured myself a little so it might be a little while til I get jumping again
-
After my first jump, I was SURE that the canopy turned left when I was flying it in half brakes and full flight. It was really weird. At that time I did have to wrap my hands around the toggles twice to get any type of decent flare... I talked with my rigger and I told him to take 4 inches out. After telling him what I experienced with wrapping the toggles in my hand he decided to go with 6 inches..... Obviously I don't have much experience but the 6 inches seems perfect. I don't get input in the canopy until I drop my hands a couple inches.... Also since we shortened the lines the canopy seems to turn left less but everytime I have landed since then (15 times) I have had to pull my right toggle down a little so that I am flying straight upon landing.... THOUGHTS??? What I plan to do is have somebody with experience jump it and see what they notice....

I have 130 jumps. 101 jumps on a spectre210 and 16 jumps on a STORM190. So far I think this STORM is an unbelievably awesome canopy. The flare is amazing and it seems a lot faster in full flight than the spectre which I like a lot. To answer your question. When I first jumped this canopy the steering lines were super long and because of this we shortend them 6 inches. The stabilizers do seem to flap around more than my spectre but I don't think it is a problem on my canopy. Shortening the steering lines made this canopy a lot easier to control and took some of the slack that created some flapping out. One thing I haven't quite figured out is that my storm seems to have a mind of its own. After deploying my spectre I would hang out for a minute before popping my brakes. If I do that under my Storm it seems to want to turn, mainly left and its difficult to get going straight (using rear risers). I don't know if the trim of the canopy needs adjusting or if this is just a more twitchy canopy (plus its smaller) or just characteristic of this canopy. ANYBODY EXPERIENCE SLIGHT UNWANTED TURNS????

I Would Also Take a Look at the INFINITY. GREAT RIG..... I Would Also Take a Look at the STORM 190. Just went from a Spectre210 (about 100 jumps). To a Storm190 (16 jumps) and it is a kick ass canopy. Great for Wingsuiting. I loved the spectre but the flare on the storm is awesome.

That is not at all why I carry mine on my back. In fact I have probably flown with it half a dozen times and not once have I talked to anybody about it.... I sat in the exit row by myself last time with it and nobody said anything.... The first time I traveled with it I put it in a suitcase and I was freaked out about it the whole time. It wont fit on a carry on sized suitcase and it got lost on the way back from that one trip (I ended up getting it later that day)..... I also have always kept my hook knife on and it has never been an issue.... just my opinion

ASTKU replied to ASTKU's topic in The Bonfire
Thanks for the info. I really don't care what kind of aircraft I jump out of. I just want to jump as much as possible and preferably with other fun jumpers.... I'll probably give I35 a ring and see what they have going on this weekend.... -

Is that a Cessna dropzone? Whats the best closest place to go, in your opinion? I heard there was also a DZ north of Fort Worth, is that right?? -

Dang it. I just yahoo map'd it and looks like you are right. That sucks. Why the hell is called Skydive Dallas. Its over an hour away from the heart of dallas..... -
I Cannot believe I am reading this. I think Sookie is gross. She is like half-retarded and annoying. And why are her tits so high up on her chest. JUST WEIRD.... Sorry for the rant but GEEZ

Shit, I forgot about that. To be honest I was a little drunk when I watched it so I should probably watch it again if I really wanted to try to figure it out. But, they showed a vampire (gotta assume because of the camera view) running up to Lafayette then right after that they showed another vampire running up to Sookies door and it was Bill.... It makes sense about that being to obvious, so Ill give you that. Your right, they need to keep Lafayette on the show. He knows too much about everything including V-Blood.... Maybe that psycho bitch Mary Anne killed Taras Mom?? And does this bitch have some kinda power? I just remembered they showed her sitting in some chair shaking violently.
-
When I watched that last show I was under the impression that Bill killed Lafayette and Lafayette was also the one in the back of the cop car.... What the hell was that guy (cant remeber his name but he is the shapeshifter) doing with all that money.... Anybody have guesses on how he knows the Mary Anne chick?? She looked like she was there to get revenge....

WHY ARE YOU BUYING NEW?? If you don't have money like you mentioned in a earlier post, Why would you buy new?? And to be honest I don't like that many colors, they're all too "busy"

I would assume there is a steering wheel..... Haha, J/K. Double parking takes on a whole new meaning!!

So I just decided to make the drive from Colorado to Fort Worth for Thanksgiving. I am leaving in a day or two. Just wondering if anybody else has a similiar plan and wants to save money on gas..... Come on, We can jump at Skydive Dallas all weekend!!! -
I just saw an IMAX movie called "ADVENTURES IN WILD CALFORNIA"...... It has some awesome skydving/skysurfing in it. The first 15-20 minutes of it is some sweet visuals over SanDiego.

How many people have you brought over to the darkside?
ASTKU replied to jephprospect's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I thought the "darkside" was BaseJumping..... If Skydiving is the "darkside" what is BASE?? -
If you have 40 minutes to spare this is a great video. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=6886

Yes, It does matter. Its called experience. Isn't it more important to pack a high performance canopy nice and neat compared to a big boat of a student canopy?? Isn't a big student canopy more forgiving?? (Seriously answer these because if Im wrong every instructor I ever had has lied to me) How many cutaways does he have??
-
I have no idea what you are referring to. The OP said he was jumping a Velocity 111. I responded to a guy that said packing is super easy who jumps a 215sf Monarch. Who also admitted to only packing 40 times. What sub 100 Xaos are you talking about?? Also, from what I understand, packing parachutes is considered the highest form of rocket science
