I don't mean to bug you but maybe I am just stupid. ARE you saying that none of the prints on that resume matched the prints on file for Duane L. Weber? And none of the prints on the resume matched the prints on the plane. Duane typed that resume himself and he filed it - if what you are saying is true the the prints on file do not match Duane L. Weber. We can assume he typed the resume and assembled it without touching it , right? I am sorry but I guess I do not always understand the written word and I am not good at making myself understood thru the written word, which is evident from my inablility to relay to you what I am trying to say and to get across. It the statement about the resume is the way I read it then it supports what I have been saying about the prints. Help - this is confusing. I believe I have told this hundreds and hundreds of times. He had been in the hospital for a couple of wks and on the last wk refused diaylisis - The Dr. and Dr's nurse and hospital administrator came up to talk to him - when I walked in they were there. He asked me if I had the briefcase and I did as he had told me to keep it with me at all times. I took this over to him and he unlocked it. Inside he produced his living will and other papers - Looked at the Dr. and asked him to note the date on the papers (1990)...it was now 1995. Note that after he started to refuse diaylsis the wk before they kept sending someone up to ask Duane simple questions and he was getting upset with the Dr. in regards to his insistence that he (Duane) continue treatment. Duane looked straight at the DR. and noted that he had broken his left hand (Duane was left handed) a few wks prior and unable to feed himself - and Duane was very frail looking with his large extended abdomen. Dialysis is very draining and at 70 yrs of age - he would no sooner start to feel human before it was time to go again. He was tired of the battle to stay alive. His next statement to the Dr. was "Would you want to live in this body?". With this the Dr. said they would move him down to SNF - skilled nursing floor and put him on hospice...that he would expire in 5 days...but he was so strong that he lived 11 more days. After the Dr. and the nurse and the administrator left he asked me if anyone else was in the room as he could not see the entry. I thought he wanted a smoke as they were letting him smoke if I held the cigarette. He motioned that was not what he wanted and to come closer. This is when he told me "I'm Dan Cooper", but I didn't know who Dan Cooper was and he started telling me things - I had just been told that my husband would expire in 5 days and I was having none of this jibberish - jumping out of planes and things...I really don't remember much about what he said and he got real angry with me and shouted very loudly "Oh, F---, Let it die with me." The nurses immediately came rushing into the room - and I told them he was upset with me, but they felt it was anxiety over his impending death and started him on morphine and screwed up his mind and thinking. All that day he tried to talk thru the Morphine and then the next day when a friend came by - she wanted to know what he was talking about - I told her that I didn't know and that I thought it was the morphine. So at the time of the confession he had just been declared sane enough to dictate his terms. He had no drugs in his system during that time - they started afterwards. I believe the employer told me that...perhaps why he believed the story about his being Cooper so much so he was willing to fly me to his home and arrange for an attorney to arrange for someone to write the story - I did not feel good about this - as I had lilttle to go on at that time - most of my information was acquired after that time - I was not going to go public and make a fool out of myself with what little I had. He always had a safe deposit box and I never knew what was in it except for gold coins and other coins and this brown bag with a clamp on it - I had nothing of value to put in a safe deposit box, but the fee was there. Later as I acquired valuables and after we got robbed I then put things in a safe deposit box. In 1990 he acquired his own saftey deposit box - I did not know where it was and the banks told me that for them to tell me if there was a box under the name of John Collins I would have to produce the necessary papers which I didn't have...of course. The woman who over heard some of what he said in the hospital assured me he had such a box as she worked with him, but I didn't know where it was. I also was not sure she was telling me the truth...or just adding fuel. The one thing he talked about after telling the Dr. that he was ceasing treatment was about the things he had hid in the van...I didn't really listen and so when he died I didn't know where to look or what I was looking for. I still maintain that in the wallet found there was something else in it such as maybe a 20 dollar bill - but it never made it to me. The wallet had obviously held much more at one time. In the 60's and 70's - men of that era including DUANE carried plastic slip overs - they were made of black rubber and came up to the ankle and snapped shut. These should have secured his shoes. Some of these had a strap that came around making it even more secure and helped keep the water out. Duane always had a pair available until we came to FL. I will see what I have - but the ones I am going to have will be after 1978 - after we were married. There are still a couple of disclosed photos - pre 1971, but I don't remember what they are right now. I go so bogged down in the print thing, but I have said all I can say - no need is talking to the wall. I can't make myself understood. I know what I am saying about the prints but now how to make someone else get it. It will be a day or so - I am very tired right now. I rebroke some ribs a wk or so ago just taking the garbage out. Commutated for who knows what? It stands to reason that the files and prints are not intertwined. Do you have a actual copy of the 1966 prison prints and the prints of Duane L. Weber taken after that date? I don't mean arrest records, but prints? That is a 1976 file - why didn't he go back to prison? - why didn't they prosecute? Was he a wanted man when I married him in 1978? What about the 1979 arrest in Fort Collins, Co on a DUI.? You state: I did not compare any prints, our lab did, and found that Webers prints did not match any recovered from the plane. Question: How do you know if the lab compared the 1966 prints of John C. I have poste photos of Duane without his glasses. They are all posted in the beginning of the old thread. But, I will try to do it again - it is very hard for me to post photo - not that computer savy....I always get the file to large. Do not understand bytes and those things. I have to scan photos now and I did post the old composite for those who might find some confusion with the altered composites done for the Gossett case. I will also dig thur what I have left to find out what his sight was - but all I will have will be what he was wearing during those last yrs. You missed one Dwayne Webber - it is on the SanQuentin file. Sorry, but you are entirely missing the point. I am talking 1968 - and system at that time. He was NOT encarcerated again after that, but those prints that went into the system may not be Duane's per the story....the 1976 was for drunk driving and those prints never got into the system nor compared with the prints of John C. Collins incarcerated in 1966- 1968 in Jefferson, Ms. Compare apples with apple and not apple with oranges - please. There are enough attorneys on this site to know that a drinking and driving violation under the name of Duane L. Weber would never have been compared to the prison file prints of John C. I did post that in the old thread. The Commentation of Sentence from Jefferson is in the name John C. Collins and that is in this thread. The FBI knows he lived and worked as John C. Collins from 1962 until 1968. The SS number and other things have been on line. He also worked for Pyramid Life Insurance as a leading agent for a couple of yrs under that name...and was an award winning agent. That company would not state anything other than they had purged their records for that time period. His wife only knew him as John C. Collins and used the name Collins. His stepchildren only knew him as John Collins and I have met a man who only knew him as John Collins. ---------------------------------------- I do not remember where that information came from, but I am aware that someone stated that. But it is a fact that he WAS not in Prison or in Jail during those 3 months. The"disappearing" during that time was the exwife who said that she left him in Nov and that they did not get back together until Feb., but that story she changed during the last few yrs of her life and was disputed by other. She later changed her story - when talking about going to N.Y. to greet the 1972 New Yr. The purchase of 2 cars prior to Feb also disputed that. Statements made to me by two other individuals who knew Duane disputed that. His employer of the time - it was the Holidays and with insurance sales some agents do not work from Thanksgiving until a couple of wks into the New Yr. The employer did say that when asked about his injuries he stated that he got them trimming a tree in front of his house during the Holidays. The wife chuckled and said there was NO tree in their yard. Also during this 3 month time span was a "trip' to CA to San Franciso and to see his sister. A trip talked about by both Duane and the wife but without a time frame on it. Both of them talked about how she loved to ride the trolley cars - up and back, up and back. Mentioned in the same trip was the sister and Reno - and the stories about the slot machines. When he took me to Wa in 1979 when we left there we went to Tahoe and he said 'We aren't going to Reno" - He did not answer my question of "Why?" I believe that he was reliving that time in his mind - all of the places we went to in WA and then to a gambling area - all not too far from where his sister had lived in 1971 and from where the note to the Reno Newspaper was sent. A note with a penciled address on it which the FBI doesn't seem to want to bother retrive when that handwriting might be Duane"s. I will put it this way - if you had knowledge of a crime that might incriminate you, would you not keep your mouth shut? This was the mother of 5 kids with 2 still at home. I cannot divulge the full extent of the conversations she and I shared - for one thing it would be more of she said and she said. Haven't we had enough of that? What I can prove - I cannot use.......no one would believe it anyway. The things that the FBI could do they do not do. Does anyone think I enjoy living this limbo life and be ridculed - If you knew me you would know that is not how I wanted to live my life, but I CHOSE to fight for the truth and the proof. I do NOT understand how difficult it would be to retrieve that envelope, check the prints the proper way and verify the DNA. All CARR does is come back and ask the same questions of me over and over - When he can study the history of the computer Print System - WHY ask me to provide the proof. All I can provide are articles stating what Ray did and that it was well known that this print change did happen in that era - I don't know that Duane managed to do it - but the FBI should be willing to prove to the general population that it didn't happen. You read the forum don't you. It is here. You read the emails I sent to you months ago, didn't you? That tie was handled by several agents over the yrs without gloves and since the cigarette butts are LOST that means: DNA EVIDENCE I have to question the validity of DNA testing done to exclude individuals concerning the D. B. Cooper incident in 1971. In the past 36 years the evidence may have been compromised. Considering that the study of DNA did not exist until the late 1980’s, it is highly unlikely that the evidence was preserved in a manner that would have protected the DNA. I therefore, would question any DNA evidence that excluded anyone without further investigation in what items were used to extract DNA and VERIFICATION that the CHAIN OF CUSTODY was maintained throughout the last 36 yrs, when dealing with and handling this item. The only DNA evidence I consider valid would be the cigarette butts. BUT, the FBI can’t find them. There are too many questions unanswered. October 27, 2007 ALSO: In regards to the DNA taken from me for Duane L. Weber. This DNA was not requested until 2003 (eight yrs after Duane died). Then as per the report ACCIDENTALLY left in the box with the DNA when it was returned to me in March of 2007 (4 yrs later) the dates of the testing was in Late 2006 and early 2007. So those items are 12 yrs old and handled by many before it left my home - most had been cleaned and tried on and some I was not sure if Duane ever used, but I sent what I had except for two items I will not let out of my site...I know that the DNA on them would be mine and Duane's and I will allow swabs to be made of them in my presence. You asked and I have told you before - Most individuals in this forum knew the answer to that one. PS. If the Verification of Chain of Evidence had been kept the FBI would have those butts...and we would not have a DNA problem. If this is true why did you argue with me on the phone that day about the system. You said his prints where checked against those in the system...which would have been the last prints taken. The last prints taken I have explained over and over - where swapped out before they went into the system. You have to get the archived prints from the Washington DC archives. You yourself explained about the older prints being archived Washington DC. I explained that James Earl Ray changed his prints as did several others in Jefferson. but you blindly refuse to accept that the system was not infallible. You have produce nothing to inform me that you did check out ALL of his prints and not just those in the System. If you have done this I need verification of that. Strange that you made the off the hand remark about the prints on Gossett as though it was a new idea or thought. I have only been told that Duane's prints where checked against those in the Computer System - not the archived prints...you yourself said the archived prints were NOT done on the phone and that is why I was upset with you months ago. Duane's vision in 1971 - I don't know , but in 1977 he did not wear his glasses for distance. In the 1980's I saw him fire a gun without his glasses and he pointed at a twigg and it was gone. I will check thru his things that I kept and see if there is an old prescription there or a pair of glasses from the last few yrs of his life, but I think I donated them to charity. I believe he was far sighted and he rarely wore glasses during the first few yrs we were together. He did not use them to drive at all until the last few yrs of his life. 1977 was a very good yr. It was August of 1977 that I met Duane L. Weber. On March 28, 1978 we were married in Littleton, Co. with Paul and Phyllis Schnitzer in attendance.... In that same time period Duane had the terrible nightmare. I believe it was around the time of our wedding which had been delayed due to broken ribs from digging in the snow in a graveyard on our way to Co. from Ga. He was mumbling in his sleep. I started trying to talk to him but he was deep into this nightmare. He states frantically "I left my prints on the Aft Stairs" and then "I am going to die" With a blood curdling scream he wakes up with hand extended as if he is trying to hold on to something. I have written about this before and sorry to bore the forum, but I find it ODD that Cook puts Gossetts visit with the Judge in the same time frame. If Duane was truely worried about our marriage and his pulling me into something sinister - I believe he may have talked to someone about his fear. Repeat Quote from Judge: "said he thought he might be in some trouble, that he was involved in a hijacking in Portland and Seattle a few years ago and that he might have left prints behind." Could Gossett have went to the Judge for a friend? He does not say that he was the hijacker and could this not have been tongue in cheek to find out information for a friend? Because of this being in the same time frame - either Cook has fabricated this or the judge is being misquoted or it is a very strange ODD coincidence, that Cooks story and Duane's story go hand in hand. DNA - No - it is compromised and they need to have Duane's actual DNA. If they have CONCLUSIVE complete DNA then yes. FINGERPRINTS - Yes and No. Nothing is conclusive until they check the archived prints on Duane against what was left on the plane and the FBI file on Duane. This is the part that you are missing - they didn't check the prior prints before the FBI did it's computer system. The young agents think it is infallible - but most of the prints put into the system at set-up and in the early yrs were NEVER checked against prior incarcerations. The are archived in Washington DC in a warehouse - individuals with multiple incarceration - their prints were NOT checked and the last incarceration prints where the only ones used --- and Duane's come from the time frame and prison that did manage to get prints altered prior to their being put into the computer system. I am not holding them up but want to be treated fairly and you do not understand the fingerprint situation. Carr told me that what was in the FBI system would be Duane's prints from his last incarceration, but I have proved that another person in that same prison changed his prints. They did not compare Duane's prints in the file with his prior prints from previous incarceration because it was not the norm to do so unless there was a question regarding the prints. Carr has insisted that the system is infallible and I have shown him that it is not. It is public fact that the system was compromised in the late 60's - I will not rest until I have seen the prints from the archive checked against the FBI file prints. I will not rest until valid DNA from Duane has been taken - there has to be hits on the two items I have to match the hits they have. They never told me what items they got hits on. If you saw what I saw and was shown and you were in my shoe you would not give up either. If I could find someway to make the memories of these things go away and then I could let it go. Let it be noted that I told Cook about the dream that Duane had and it has been stated in this forum and to the FBI from the very beginning about the prints being left on the aft stairs. The night mare in which he says "I left my prints on the AFT stairs" and then says "I am going to die" ending in a blood curdling scream. Also note that Cook incorporates into his story Gossett talking to a judge about leaving prints and he puts it in the same time frame as Duane having his dream - doesn't anyone but me find this ODD. I have taken the flax regarding my story - why is it that I am not supposed to give others the same. I have had people take my story and tear at the pieces - should the public not do the same with this suspect? Grey's story in the NY magazine we hashed that over and most agreed that it was not pausible. But, now because an attorney who has spent a lot of time talking to me comes up with a story with a LOT of similarities - I want to be treated fair. I am only stating that the FBI seems to be playing games - and that the information CARR has provided about prints is not correct. I told you what I wrote in the note: If my death is suspicious - please check out _____ ______ and his address and phone number. I was very afraid of this person and his connections...and I still am so I have only given his name to the FBI. The connections I am referring to are the Union connections and that I felt that more than one of the companies Duane was associated with were involved in activities - such as providing an employment cover for the "agents" so they had an excuse to be away from home and still collect a pay check. Most of the employees were legitiment but these companies provided legitiment employment for the men who also did other "work". This other work was not legal and was covert. Sanctioned by some, but not by others. They hired ex-cons and others with unusual backgrounds - and these men sold insurance to Union Member, Government Employees - Secret Service, FBI and other groups? Note that I ended that statement with a question mark as I will say no more. I did talk to Galen Cook about this the last time we talked on the phone a couple of months ago. I am finding what you just said ludicrious. When did they run the prints on Duane against the prints in the file? I have a letter stating this was done - they used Duane's prints in the system which you and I both know may NOT be Duane Weber's prints. The prints they found on the plane have supposedly been run against Duane's prints and prints of other suspects. Did the FBI just send me that letter saying they had run the prints to get RID of me and shut me up? If what you just said is true - then there is something very wrong with this picture. I suggest that you retrieve from the archives the prints of Duane Weber from past encarceration and not what is on the FBI system and run those ALSO. Because what you said indicates to me and the general public that Duane L. Weber was not truely investigated. Otherwise you would not have stated what you did - which is the following: "wouldn't that be amzing, the answer right there this whole time and all we had to do was run the prints through AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System)." I am sorry, but I find this very disappointing - that our FBI agents claim to be doing things that they did not do. How many other suspects did they NOT check-out? Now you are going to tell me "They FBI checked Duane out" excuse me it they had checked him out you would have more knowledge of a suspect they had already ruled out and the specifics about how they ruled him out....other than the compromised DNA on a tie...because you do not know if the DNA the FBI extracted from the articles I sent was the DNA of Duane. I do have some of his cremains left - if they can get DNA from that then that will be the only DNA I would trust and also DNA on a watch I refuse to let out of my sight...because I know he and I are the only ones to touch that watch, but I am not sure that I didn't clean it after he died. It was 7 yrs after he died that the FBI asked for DNA - so I didn't remember who handle what and what I cleaned or didn't clean. Every item I sent had been handled by others - yet there was no mention of multiple DNA's nor did I ever recieve a DNA report. The report read to me over the phone said nothing about DNA - only prints. Really, Jo, despite evidence from people including yourself that he has been on the Cooper trail for years? Instead of trying to discredit every other suspect that comes along, why don't you just wait for the FBI to test the fingerprints and take it from there. I am only upset with his method. Falsification of the Composites - they modified the composites and there should have been a disclaimer with the real composites to compare against - Otherwise the unwary individual accepts the modified composites as being the actual composites. What photos are you saying resem ble Coopers Composites. What I have been able to download from the Depoe Bay Beacon - I am not sure I got all the photos. PLEASE NOTE; The Depoe Bay Beacon had done an Enquirer thing. The composites they posted have been altered. Check them againsr the original composites which I have posted before. 1. With the Bing Crosby Look-alike they have squared the chin and changed the shading around the chin. 2. With the color Composite they have changed the eyebrowes (lots) and changed the chin. They also attempted to remove the line that goes up the cheek - not the smile lines but the other line that goes along the cheek line. Many people do not see this in the composite, but it is there. I wish my original was not so faded and I would be able to show the lines - it is a feature that only Duane Weber has had that no other suspect has. You have to look at the detail of the art. There must be photos from what I am reading here that did not download to my computer. After reading the article and I assume I got all of the text - I do not feel threatened at all. A man takes a week off and the wife doesn't see the resemblence of the composites to her husband who is a jumper and his friends don't find anything amiss at that time....this is just too much. Cooper was a LONER - he was a nobody - he was someone no one would miss. Gossett sounds like a joker - someone who was always pulling somebodys leg. All Cook is doing is trying to ride the Cooper frenzie that is out there right now and nothing more. He may succeed because everyone is looking for answers, but to falsify the composite (modify) them for their own justifications that to me is dirty and misleading the public. Many in the public do not know what the originals look like and would not see the modifications. The print was real small, and I did not see a disclaimer by the writer about these Modification. That is unethical unless you are the Enquired and the Enquirer has been sue for doing just that. Cook sued the FBI - maybe the FBI should sue Cook for that or FORCE another article to be written with the DISCLAIMER and the ACTUAL Composites for comparison so the unwary individual will not get caught up in the farce. Hope there is some way to get the NWA stewardess to look at those photos. That should be done using photos of Duane (some that have never been put on the computer or else where) along with photos of many suspects over the yrs and other unknown individuals. What the Stews' will remember is perhaps a profile - something that might be revealed in a less formal photos as I have, but with age explanations. Florence has been quoted as saying Duane was too Old, but with no explanation of age factor and that no photo exist for that specific time except for a polaroid shot of Duane all dress-up in a brown suit and dyed hair. Photos (several of each subject with age explanations)need to be provided for all suspects for a formal showing to be made to Tina and Florence. Every photo needs an age explanation so she can visualize age off or on. I would go so far as to suggest that individuals with their own photos be given time with Tina - (no attorneys or writers - family member only) this gives the person a chance for closure, by asking questions and telling her something that may have been said that might trigger a memory. A gesture or a mannerism or multiple things. I would love to meet Tina - I would make a generous donation to the charity of her choice to spend 30 minutes with her - just to get this out of my head once and for all - to look in her eyes and know Duane was not Cooper. Then I would have to address the fact that I am Crazy. I can't make the things he showed me (in WA)and the unusual coincidences (money and history)and the things I saw with my own eyes go awaybag,stub and ticket. I can't make the confession go away. I wish Duane had never told me what he told me before going to the hospital and while he was there. The confession and the story he told - the pieces I might never have put together had it not been for his telling me "I'm Dan Cooooper". Galen Cook was so evasive and strange that I could never get a straight answer out of him - so you asked a question I can't answer. I assume that he was interested in Duane in the beginning. but he and I spit nails. I don't like being lied to and talked to the way the did and I was NOT co-operative with him at all - especially after I was informed that he was not giving me correct info. It would be Nov of 2003 when he wrote me a letter asking me to keep it confidential. He enclosed a photo of a subject who doesn't look at all like Cooper and the dress and age seemed to be inappropriate. He had contacted me because he thought Duane was a good suspect, but only in theory I suspose or to get me to tell him what I knew. At that time he did not have William Mitchell or Tina's address and wanted them off of me. I was empathic that I would NOT divulge Tina's address or phone number. All I had for Mitchell was an email at his job and his daughters name and email (she had contacted me). I did NOT have the information Cook asked for - address and phone number. Mitchell and I spoke thru emails and one phone call. I made it a point not to bug people. Mitchell was a very young college student who sat across from Cooper, but paid him little attention. Cook then contacted me after the annoucement of the DNA early this yrs 2008 and-we had a couple of phone calls - which I now realize was to pump me for information...and to use me. He wanted to be sure that I wasn't holding something back and that could cause him problems I suppose. As for Bill Gossett - he seems terribly hi-profile to have been Cooper...and I did tell Cook about Vancouver BC and the Idaho and Washington area that Duane knew someone in - infact I had found out where Cook lived and told him this person was in his backyard. Now it seems he was. Sorry I still know that Duane was Cooper and as I have always said if he wasn't he sure as hell knew who was...I told Cook this also. No one can take away the bag and the stub and the ticket - of course it is only my word, but I will go to my death with those memories. Anyone as hi-profile ;and visibile as Gossett would have been virtually impossible to not be spotted. Gossetts photos that I have seen - he seems a little wirey in build - but folks get that way as the get older also - curious to see a full body of Gossett as a 45 yr old. I keep trying to remember where I heard that name - I suppose Cook gave me a name at one time. The Wolfgang didn't mean anything to me.
