Most know about the sighting of a body by a kid that was never found or verified - by the way they were looking for Cooper. There is even a story about a kid who claimed to have found a chute on an Island up toward Washougal. Again no one ever saw this except the kid. I am not saying they didn't see these things - but, they were not there when others went back to look. When I was a child there was an old house we were not supposed to go near. We (3 of us) found out one day why and we were scared to death. The men must have heard us when we took off because when my father went over to check it out - no one was there. Probably vagrants, who took off after we scurried away, but no evidence of their having been there was left. Truth or fiction? Children raised on farms and in rural areas in the 40's through the 70's usually have stories like this to tell. Regarding Cooper: With so many people looking for so many yrs one would expect a bone or part of the chute or rig to have been found....yet, NOTHING except the one find of money in 1980. We are talking a major crime - not a random drowning - the Columbia was well observed for yrs after the crime and even more so after the find of the money. As gross as the description is of decomposition within a water body I do have some questions. If the body never came to the surface for what-ever reason, would not the bones have later have washed ashore or been dreged - say within the time frame of the money or later? After the money find - they (meaning not only the FBI, but the general public) were looking for bones - but NOT one was found. In the yrs to come - many scoured the shore line and the river looking for evidence of Cooper - but, not one bone was ever found. The fishermen thought they might snag him. Dregers thought they might see evidence of his remains. Treasure seekers were looking for more money and human bones. Some of these people knew the hydraulogy and currents of the river and how to judge about where Cooper's remains and/or money might have settled - but NO one ever found anything. Snowmman that was not a shout, it was being emphatic - I have been refraining from the caps now that I understand what this means in computer language...but occasionly you will see caps when I want to be sure others see it. I will limit this to specifics as above. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

I give up - this is what Snowmman and Georger were sent here to do - to bury the truth in so much technology that no one would ever see the truth. Those pictures of the Fazion home are not as they appeared in 2001. There were buildings to the East of the parking lot - but back further from the river - there were trucks there. The road went in front of the Fazio Home - not beside it or behind it. By infront I mean to the north of it. I did not have a compass with me so I don't know if it was directly North (as I am sure someone will pipe and and say that the river was xx from xx from xx and North of this or that. A couple of yrs ago a friend went out to the Fazio farm and told me that things had changed a lots. I have to assume that a new home was constructed since 2001 and that the road has changed. Also that more and new buildings have been built. If you want to contradict my word use a map made prior to May of 2001. That is not how it looked in 2001. The house was oblong and the front of the house faced the road not the river. The backyard was large had a fence around it. The parking lot was to the East of the house - at least 100 yds. The parking lot was there about 120 yds from the house - it was gravel - it was a small lot. You walked toward the river in the parking lot and there was a gate. Thru that gate was a roadway or walk way down to the river. From the gate area it was much higher than the river - you could look down at at the tree line and the lower fence. Then past the fence and the tree line several feet away was the river. It was obvious the river had been up to the fence line. Himmelsbach asked him about a flood and the water. I don't remember the man's answer or if I paid attention. I cannot swear to what the answer was so I won't try. What I do know is that the picture I just looked at IS not the Fazion home that was there in 2001 and the demographics are different. Remember I was raise on a farm. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

Okay nitrochute, this is zeroing in on the blue object and cars by the apparent money find location (I was using the circled area in the photos provided by the FBI, to pinpoint the probable money find area. I should revisit that for accuracy) In any case, two images in this pic. Top shows many obvious cars parked at the Y. (fishermen?), from July 26, 2005. Bottom from Sept 17, 2002 shows no cars, and the blue object. However, here, the blue object is not "in the water" like the last pic I showed. It's up on the beach (i.e. the waterline is low in this pic. added another pic that has the May 2002 image too, since it's the clearest of the blue thing. But cars are fewer (some on the right?) I WAS there in MAY of 2001 - THOSE pictures do NOT look like the place I was taken to - DID the house get torn down between 2001 and 2002?????? I am questioning those pictures - have you gone there in-PERSON. Surely things do not look that different in person than they do from the air. THEN GO. In the early 40's I am not sure there was a paratrooper beret so to speak - it was created by doing the stripping of the lining from the dress hat. Does anyone have any knowledge of the Navy beret history...and the history of Navy jumpers in the early 40's. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

The records have be obsured by the Navy except that we still have exhanges made with the family - these are items found in the family records. Letter dated Nov 18, 1942 - If anyone decipher any of this it will be appreciated. WEBER, Duane Lorin, EX--S2-c, USN. Pers-652-ERT 283-56-96 This letter was a form letter regarding his discharge from the Navy - not authorizing his re-inlistment with the Navy. He must have been a real bad boy. ALL I recieved from my own inquiry in Sept of 2000 was Army - 35 608 905 Army with no entered and released dates. Navy - 6/18/41 entered Navy 5-30-42 released Navy # 283-58-96 The registrar's report of 10/1/42 listed his height as 5'11" with a weight of 167 - This has a Akron, Ohio address on it. Since he was discharged on 5/30/42 - this must have been his attempt at reenlistment. Interesting - they give his date of birth as 6/18/22 - there is NO date on the registration Card. Serial Number N 91-A Order Number 12, 035-A Willoughby, Ohio US Maritime commission Complexion is listed as Ruddy Another document dated May 5, 1943 State of Ohio Case 119879 Courtney & Manes Plaintiff Atty Underwood Defendcant Atty Letter written by Duane to his Mother - dated April 15, 1943 from Camp Sibert Alabama Signed DuaneL. Weber 35608905 Co D 2st CWS Trng Regt. Camp Sibert Ala Unable to read the CWS - could be TWS The letter is signed DUSTY She sent him a dollar and washed his clothes - which he told her he would not be able to wear anymore. He tell her that if he could come home he could get this straightened out - (we have never known what he was talking about in this letter). He asks her to send his watch because he needs it out in the field as - have a lot of time precision and needs something to tell what time it is. He is notifying her that he was glad she got the papers on his insurance. He had tried to take out 10k but they would only allow him 2K because of his Navy insurance. He also had his bonds signed over to her (whatever bonds were in those times). "The chemical end of it is just as good as anything else." States that maybe he will get a chance to see John (his brother I assumed) soon. He obviously sent a picture of himself in the army but I have never seen that picture. ODD statement "I sure that boy will be alright if you people use your head at Akron and keep his location a secret because this boy is making good and wants to keep right on." All of this leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Letter is dated April 15, 1943 Court appearance is dated May 5, 1943 Marriage certificate is dated July 23, 1943 in Monroe, Michigan to Daisy Schuller. The Marriage certificate never got put back in its place or it is missing. I never found Daisy Schuller and I do not believe this is the mother of Zona, His age is listed as 24 for the certificate. Sluggo - did you get a copy of this - i cannot find the original at all...just my notes. He purportedly knew Jack Anderson from California, Johnny Roselli spent time in McNeil but not during Duane's time there. Roselli was at the Fontainbleu in 1962 - during the time Duane was reported to be there, but Duan was supposed to be in prison...we never got any sense out of this - but it was reported by a family member who would not lie about seeing Duane there. This is just some of the interesting trivia we found in our yrs of research.. The only Tony Wong found I could not get an age on - Chinese national guerrrilla who fought in the Japanese Army. I do not think the Tony Wong I met in 1980 was that old and he was living in the south and spoke perfect english. Luis Posada Carriles was a CIA operative trained for the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion. - They were in Miami in 1965 - training for 2 yrs. He is a KNOWN "soldier" in the U.S. governments covert war against communism. I do not know if Posada is still alive - nor where he was being held in the US. I do know that Jack Anderson had interviewed individuals involved in this and that the FBI MADE ACCESS to his files by decieving the wife when they gained access to her husbands 200 boxes of files. She thought they only wanted access to the 1970 files. As late as 2007 - CIA released CENSORED documents regarding 1970 CIA assassination plots and other misdeeds in reference to the JMWave. Still haven't found that marriage record, but I have suitcases of this "stuff". Before any of you discount that "beret" you better talk to the OLD TIMERS about that. With all the trivia about the Columbia River - I thought the thread needed a little diversion before we drown in that darn river. Just trying for some variety here and to let all know I have not been standing on my hands for 13 yrs. My head maybe! We can talk about that river for yrs and not solve the case...what will solve it is one of the 20's or someone who knew Cooper, something taken from the plane and putting a specific suspect in a chute. There are 2 books due out soon and I understand 3 more being done by members of writers groups...usually never published. I was able to read the US Navy, but it was interesting how you were about to do that picture to make it stand out. I had read something about when the jumpers where being trained and they took a beret and stripped the stiff lining our to them after they made their first jump - Does anyone know if this beret was the beret that the trainees did that to? Regarding the ears - note that his growth plate was not complete at 15...go look at your own high school Sophomore pics. As he aged they were NOT so prominent. Also note that between 1960 and the later yrs there appears to be some changes in the ear (I do not know why - they were doing a minor pinning surgery those yrs). Note the when I combined the composites with the pictures - the ears on the composites were actually larger than Duane's ear????????? On one I had to actually sketch the composite ear to be larger. Try it yourself. I posted information looking for answers to questions. I have not been doing a tease only telling what I can tell. I still have faith I am going to put Duane on that plane and in a chute. Very tired right now - 2 days straight of nuclear medicine prep and scans (3 1/2 hrs) today. When I got home I went back to bed, but I am still exhausted. Good Night. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

I need for you guys to tell me what kind of cap Duane has on. I think I did this before - the other photo showed the typical - white sailor hat - But this is some kind of beret. Date on back of picture indicates 1941 - this appears to be the type of photo one would do on leave following basic. I do know that he was barely 16 when he enlisted because his mother changed his birth certificate to read 1924 when according to family records he was born in 1925. I am not familiar with military caps and what their designations are. Also compare this photo to the 1945 Firecrew pic from CPS. After getting kicked out of the Navy he joins the Army and was stationed at Camp Siebert - a family member reported Duane confiscated a Commanding Officer's vehicle and went out on the town. It is uncertain what happend after this - the government finally produce discharge papers, but it was suggested from records he went AWOL showing up in CA. where his parent had to moved to from Stow, Ohio that yr. At one time his mother either cooked for or managed a Smorgasborg. CKRET: Did you get that? Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

Thanks but I had been doing that today already - for ONCE I was one step ahead of you - because once I look at a bunch of pictures I am a MESS again. That is why I stepped away from it for awhile. With the sketch I did - I went back to some of the sites about hardware and although I didn't see it - I now know these things do exist - Thanks to someone who rarely post but alway lurking and he knows who he is. My memory is definitely flawed in regards to this item. I have sat today and tried to sketch it, but it comes out looking like things I have seen on this forum. I know that I could take the item apart - that piece was part of another piece. I remember the feel of it in my hand, but maybe that memory is gone also. There are not many almost 70 yr olds who could remember what I have remembered - and I get so angry at myself, because I let that man have it. The part with the slide and locking thing was part of a bigger item - I want to say I took them apart - but I liked the feel of it and how it worked. That sliding and locking part was precision made. Duane was protective of it - and one day when I told him I had cleaned the drawer out he was afraid I had tossed it. I just didn't know who Dan Cooper was when I put it on the garage sale. I ran an ad trying to find the person who bought it. I went to all of the places that handled military memorbial - hoping someone would know who he was. I didn't have a name or location for him. Where I live we get lots of Canadians and Yankees who winter here. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

I am unable to read Sluggo's site so I do not know what he has there. Remember that no one is perfect and unless these statements are in GOVERNMENT - transcripts they are only someone elses opinion or what someone else had derived. Many times I have told certain things over and over to individuals and sent them emails. Then they write a post or a summary of my life with Duane and some of our experiences - The RESULT are NOT accurate and at times do not in any way stay with the facts I made available to them. I have heard it referred to as taking literary license. Somewhere along the line it was stated that Duane whispered "I'm Dan Cooper". He didn't shout it but he also didn't whisper it. It was a quiet conversation until he realized I was NOT digesting what he was telling me. Then he shouts of "Oh, F---, let it die with me." Had it not been for my telling the story of Duane's last days to a gentleman friend - I would never have known. This happens all of the time with the media (I should know). It has happened with people who are supposedly helping me - and I read what they have written and my mouth goes open - you might want to cover your ears if you are in hearing distance. Since I cannot open his site - I have not read what he has posted there. I accept it as I do other sites - it is what it is - that persons take or interpretation of the crime. I listen to all and I read all I can find - but believe only what I can read in FIOA acts. If that about Hancock is in the FILES then and only then do I accept it. I find it difficult to believe the FBI allowed Ms Hancock to return to the plane for her purse. That would certainly not be allowed today. Note: I do not have the complete file of the information made available to the public from the FBI...therefore maybe Hancock was allowed to return for her purse. Did she ACTUALLY say it was tied off at the neck. I thought that was only one of the many books that depicted that. Is this ACTUALLY in transcripts or notes or statements taken? Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

The guys on the back row of the Uhaul pic - the one in the middle and the one on the right. It was like that and one of the pieces had that grooved thing that locked. It was a flash back and them my mind scrambled again. I have been at this way too long and somethings are lost to me forever. Whatever it was it opened but locked very securely - with that grooved thing. There was something else on it that locked and unlocked. I can't do this anymore - my brain is fried. Thank you very much the grooved thing was the dead on part. That upper part also opened if my memory serves me right. There is a town up off of I-5 called St Helens - he told me he USED to know a woman who lived there who had a shop there. What kind of shop? - I have always wondered. Obviously just a woman. Wonder how many women owned businesses there in 1971? It was at this time he pointed East and told me about an old cemetary there. He said something else about that cemetary - but I have never been able to remember it. This was before we got to the Lewis River turn off and right after he mentioned the town. Thanks - really apprectiate this. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

Bingo! That is a different shape but the little thing on it you could move and it looked like that I have been trying to describe it and yes this is the closet thing I have seen. It was more triangular but the mechanism that moved - that is it - maybe just a little bit longer - but I am not good at judging size from a picture. GUYS - I need some help. Go to SUGARALPHA site there is a picture there posted called Uhaul. In that picture are good shots of front packs. In the past I have been sent all kinds of pictures of hardware and parachute things. For some reason this photo stood out to me - the attachements at the front to hold on the front packs. Did anyone send me a pic of these items up-close? Does ANYONE know about when that Pic was made? I looked at so much hardware in the past that I just walked away from that part of my search - but I was just relaxing and up popped that photo...perhaps they are items shown to me before - but these stood out - looking like the item I held in my hand. Anyone have a close up of those things. I had been told that the front chutes did not have D-rings. BUT if those ARE D-Rings then that is what I held in my hand. When we were told the front packs didn't have D-Rings we explored ways he could have secured the front pac to himself...what if he brought his OWN D-Rings - is that possible - ARE they something you can add while on a plane before you jump or are they sewn into the strapping?????? Was he prepared to attach something to himself other than the front pack, but used if for the Front Pack (the missing one). What would have been his intentions to used this hardware for other than attaching the front pac? Was he planning on attaching something else to himself - No one has been able to figure out how he jumped holding all of that Stuff - the money bag, the brief case and the clothes he was wearing...they were never found - hence so did he jump with them rather than throw them out? What kind of durable folding container could have been in that briefcase? Could there have been a folded nylon bag or satchel with hooks on it - what was available at that time? Not one sole answered me about the other stuff - regarding what he may have done in that bathroom and if the battery had a dual purpose...such as a communication device. Please help me out here - that picture caused me to revisit all these old memories. My heart is coming out of my chest right now so I am going to lie down. Seems like we got a lot of pics and many of them look very different - wonder if that design was ever messed with or modified. That last one with the stairs on the ground was the first time I had seen it from that direction. At least I don't have to puzzle over that anymore -helped me answer a lot of questions I had in my mind. What I saw must not have been a 727...it was not that solid and study looking. I really didn't know it would be that sturdy looking. The way it appears it doesn't look like to me it would have been all that difficult to jump from. If he didn't have to back down the stairwell because of the wind force he had a pretty good idea of his target if he knew the land pretty well...and the visibility was there. Question for the skydivers - HAVE ANY OF YOU EVER JUMPED FROM A 727? There must be someone out there who has done this - be interesting to see what they have to say. What could he have had in that bag (Do they mean the paper bag?) Was there ever a satchel as has been said before. Seems like satchel and paper bag keep getting buried...but mentioned in the reports. Was this his communication device? What kind? Walkie Talkie? Was he communicating with someone inside of the terminal or near the terminal or was he someway monitoring the cockpit? Remember the SEA-TAC Tocoma parking ticket (what I thought was a parking ticket). Accomplice or his? Could Cooper have had an accomplice who was inside of the Seattle Airport? Someone he could trust - or who was disposable? Someone who would never turn him in? This person was telling him what was happening inside. Did the FBI empty the terminal or were personel and passengers departing and arriving on other planes allowed to continue with business as usual? Was there wire in there that he mounted to a back brace he was wearing (old kind with metal staves)? Wire could have been used as a weapon. Did he utilize the battery some way for communication? They mentioned Cooper was compact - what did he have on under those clothes? Or was the compaction actually an extended abdomen? He had on a raincoat, a jacket and long underwear...was this why the word compact was used in describing Cooper? Come on someone let's figure out what could be in that paper bag about the size of a lunch bag. I am going back to a story I told a long time ago. Something said to me by the ex-wife and something Duane told me. The 2 of them worked in an airport for a wk or two - cleaning the planes and delivering the catered meals. WHERE did they work and when? I could never get the FBI to investigate this. She NEVER told me where even when I asked. I don't remember his saying where. I will guess - Miami,Phoenix, Denver, Atlanta, CA, KS, MN and WA as likely places. Remember she mentioned 2 airplane or airline companies - somewhere back in my posts you will find those. I had the name of one twisted around and we went on a wild goose chase. I am not going to try to look it up right now. Sorry, I promised to stay out of this - but when something is said that triggers a memory (even when it is something I have said before) I get carried away. That Damn paper bag - I can't get it out of my mind - it keeps bugging me. Regarding the aftstairs - the opening that comes down doesn't go all the way to the ground - there are a few steps that extend past the edge of that...I don't understand all the technical talk. These steps be it 2 or 3 or 4 or what come down out of the stairwell to the ground...they extend I guess is the word I am looking for...when the stairwell goes back up they collapse back into the stairwell so the don't damage the stairwell opening. I don't know how to explain what I am trying to tell you. I am really a Simple Simon on these kind of things. Okay, Most things! Sorry for the intrusion - I just got carried away. [reply It'd be nice to find a video of the rear stairs coming down as well as going open, to see what happens. The stairs are complicated 1) They get raised by hydraulics 2) They supposedly drop by gravity somehow 3) They can bump up when unweighted by Cooper, and almost close 4) They can hang open halfway in flight (the braniff pics) 5) They somehow need to lower without smashing against the tarmac, because the part that touches the tarmac forms the outer skin and doesn't want to be damaged? This is a two phase thing. The lower stairs is variable - controled manually or with mechancisms - both interchangeably. I don't know how to explain to you what this is - I have seen it down on the tarmac - it is fully extended at that time. What lowers out of the belly is several feet off the ground and an extension comes down - just how this extension is controlled I don't know. Actually this is the first time I believe I had seen that photo unless you posted it on this sight before. When I saw what the inside of the cord looked like - it was a bunch of smaller strands and it is a small segment of a strand in the knife. Sluggo didn't think it was cord but my mag glass said it looks like that photo. I would think if he was making a sawing motion - a fragment might have collected in the knife - not so likely with a whip and snap cut. We have no idea how sharp his knife was. Probably just a piece of dust and a delusional woman imagining a strand from the cord. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

Snowmman I really needed to see that photo again about the cut cords - I am not sure I looked at them hard enough before. When I looked at that cut cord - it sure looks like the piece in the knife I showed Sluggo. The cord was made of several smaller gray cords and that is what is in the groove of that old knife - that appears to have been stored for a long long time. The story I heard about what was in the dummy was that it was an old chute that was just used for fill - they didn't go out and by foam, but used what they had. Unrepairable chutes were often used as fill - per my source - a packer at that time. Copyright 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 2013, 2014, 2015 by Jo Weber

Question: In reading the recent posts I have a serious question. Remember way back after the transcripts came out in the forum. There was a mention of Cooper going to the bathroom (I am curious as to why the crew didn't do something at that time). Also WHAT the HELL did he do with the BOMB when he went to the bathroom? Until this forum I had heard no mention of Cooper going to the bathroom - is that really in the transcripts or is it Myth?
