I have only the following words to say: I did not say Sluggo was FBI and I definitely feel no malice toward anyone other than Jerry Thomas. If Jerry's conversation with me had been recorded - not one of you would approve of any individual being treated that way - it was inhumane....it was torturous and mean. There is not much more I can say, but truely hope each one of you will feel some remorse when all of this comes to light. Upon reciting some of what I have told to the FBI and items I described in detail to them and to others - things the FBI seemed to have NO interest in - I was asked this Question. Did you tell all of this to the FBI? This has been a very difficult 14 yrs and I would not wish them upon any living human being. The truth will prevail and the truth will be told. Not once did I falter in my belief and not once did I ever doubt what I saw and what I was told. The only part of this I question is WHY the FBI continued to probagate lies and deception - and/or are our investigative forces that inept? Didn't they ever look back at the orginal files or did they loose (or misplace) them as they supposedly did the cigarette butts. Vague definitions are . . . vague. Define "near future". Is that anything like "the end is near"? The first part will be happening within the next 60 days and the repercussion for that action will determine the future of lots of individuals - unless the FBI steps in and stops things. According to one person who was involved in a similar Cooper related activity many yrs ago he and others were paid a visit by some very important people. I questioned if this did happen, but given the FBI reaction or lack of reaction to things I have put in front of them WITH NO investigation of specific information, I expect he was telling the truth. Second part of this will happen at the disgression of other parties and that will be their option to speak or forever keep the secrets of the past - but I think the way things are starting to fall into place - that we may be able to present a unified group who is fed up with how this has been handled. to this point. As it stands right now there are several writers putting a lot of their life and their money into books about Cooper, but without the efforts of those who really count. The people still living who participated in the hijacking as hostages and victims are some what alarmed about how the writers are going to handle their character and these individuals will not recieve any moneys nor have any control over what is said about them. The truth will be coming soon, but everyone has to be in agreement....it has been too many yrs and too many secrets. When dectectives, writers and jerks invade private lives with falseshood - people get upset. After almost 40 yrs - there are those who intend to take this situation into their own hands...and end it - it is time for it to end. The actions of some who have participated in regards to the crew and passengers have been overbearing and the lies are not going to fly. Maybe it is time for them to tell their own story - rather than others speculating and talking to their family members and friends in what is considered an unethical manner. Guess they will have a memorial for Cooley at the Smoke Jumpers Reunion since it is the 1st one since his death. Guess where the main 100 rooms have been blocked - The Red Lion Inn - in Redding. HOW appropriate - remember that Duane threw that bag in the river behind the RED LION in Vancouver. I don't know if it is still a Red Lion but it was in 1979. Yes, I am interested enough to go to their site and check it out - thinking about attending if I can. I would have to go ahead and pay the upfronts now and reserve a room and just HOPE that I would be able to fly at that time and that it is a good time. If now - oh, well. Most of the men will be the younger jumpers because the old ones from the 40's are all gone - but, maybe just maybe there might be someone there who was a smoke jumper in the late 40's. I have just learned there will be a Smoke Jumper Reunion this summer in Redding, California. Can anyone find any dates for this? Some reservations about this information because the individual did NOT know that Earl Cooley passed away several months ago. What is the closest airport to Redding? I want to go! Saul Binstock! Quiet a story Farflung and one I have never heard before or if it was told I was sleeping. Folks we do have another Snowmman in the making with Farflung. I agree that Snowmman's informative post will be missed, but there is a part of Snow no one will miss. Wrong! Duane died in 1995 and I turned this over to the FBI in 1996. After the FBI lied to me in a letter dated 1998 I jumped in head first, but had already been doing what I could do with phone calls and letters prior to the FBI's failure or cover-up. Bought my first computer in 2000 so I didn't have to go down to the office from 11 PM until 2 AM. I was still relying on the FBI to provide the truth - but after more lies from the FBI in early 2000 - I knew it would never be done if I didn't do it. I did remarry in 2002 and as you know during that time until the present I have posted on forums and have continued my search - just had to eased up a little due to my new husband until 2005 when he became very ill - then I absorbed my spare time on Cooper after he was asleep. He died in 2007 and the only thing that changed was my ablility to make day time phone calls and be more agressive. This last husband was very understanding - after he died in 2007 when I went to clean his computer up for his children - I found he had been monitoring this site - he always knew when I needed a hug. He was a better husband than I was a wife. I never hid anything from him, but I didn't know he was actually interested enough to monitor the site...

Pete, We all hope you will at least post information about your jump history - and keep it simple for us. All of your various experiences jumping in the the states, not the war storie, but about your life in general here in the states. Of course we are all curious about why the FBI considered you in the Cooper Caper. You are the last of the old timer jumpers and we would love to hear your stories. I believe that really happened! Like the phone company cutting me off saying I hadn't paid my phone bill - and the SS saying I owe them bunches of money. What is this world coming to! I have seen NO proof I owe SS money but they want me to sign an agreement to repay them or I get cut off in March. If I agree to the waiver and payments - again I would be admitting I owe them money with NO proof of debt. They just know what their computer is telling them. The SS system did a redo of their computer system in 2005 and this is where THEY screwed up - not me and I never recieved money I was not entitled to. The last woman (call # 34 told me it was an error). I asked for proof of the error and her ID number...I got a name and City). She said they DO NOT have to tell me where the error is...this is all insane and ridiculous. As for the phone bill - I am still trying to find out why they don't have a check. I wrote it (have a copy) and mailed it 30 days ago. No one will or can give any answers. This happened about 7 months ago - same thing. I spent $35 for a stop payment and the check passes same day. Now again - either I am crazy or the US postal is letting mail sit in a warehouse somewhere for days. Wish I had your wit to deal with these idiots...of course they call me the idiot behind my back I am sure. UPS made me feel bad today - first thing out of the mouth - "Oh MY you have lost lots of weight". I was never heavy and the scales read the same thing they did 6 months ago...it made me realize how bad I must look to people who knew me when I was healty. Oh Well, I am not dead, yet! All battles must come to an end. I have buried 2 husbands who fought brave battles agains all odds. Jim died of lung cancer and we fought the traditional ways - surgery, radiation and chemo. We went to Loma Linda University for the proton radiation the last time - as there was not one anywhere near us and only 5 proton radiations facilities up and running even though the USA developed the technology. China and other countries had multiple proton centers using our technology. Does this tell you how far the USA is behind in the medical field....in the developement and use of new technology? More Proton centers have started up since 2005, but they lack in the skills and operational end. We tried to use another center in Indiana in 2006 - but they were just feeling their way around. It would have required multiple trips to Indiana to continue beyond the evaluation process. The travel alone would have sapped his energy - we opted not to go back. We looked at more chemo - but he knew the first bout of chemo put him near death and that was in the early yrs of the cancer when he was still fit. We knew that a round of chemo in his weakened condition in 2006 would have meant - he could die in the process. He chose to tough it out and we put his life in Gods hands. There comes a point when you have to let it go. Until you have personally experienced the ravages of chemo and radiation, you and other will not grasp what it does to the quality of life. He chose quality of life over spending what time he had left connected to a needle that made him sick and put him in the hospital. More surgery was not an opiton. In the first few yrs he fought a brave battle and in the end he still lost. What most people do NOT understand is that some of these processes are very debilitating and reduce the quality of life to crap. Only a minute portion of 1% end up killing the cancer or making it go away...the exception is breast cancer. Since Eagleeye lives in CA. I am sure he has done the proton radiation - but from the terminology he used - I expect he has exhausted his options..because then and only then do you use the term end-stage. End-stage is used when the cancer has invaded vital organs - such as the liver. Jim has been gone for almost 2 yrs and 8 months now - but, I continue to read anything I can lay my hands on about what is new. Proton Radiation for Prostrate cancer was the one thing people from all across America sought out - with Loma Linda being the most progressive - if you had private insurance (it sometimes was not covered). The expense alone was phenonmenal and out of the reach of Ordinary Man without the financial means to handle it out of pocket This treatment requires spending 3 months minimun in the facility...not cheap to obtain housing for 3 months near the facility. Since we are filling in space here I thought this information might be useful to someone. In the end it comes down to CHOICE - financially, physically, pshycologically and spiritually. I made a couple of posts regarding other posts, but, I didn't read ALL the way to the end before posting. When I went back to review the post - Lo and behold I note a lot of posts had been made and started reading backwards and Snow was gone. If one wonders, this - is how I have missed postings before. By the time I finish my post - there are other posts made. This is what 70 yrs of age produces - pure chaos...missing so much as the days go to fast. Now is the time for those with lots of things to discuss - should pipe in. Snow was an excellent researcher - but, got way to carried away with himself. I did NOT contact Quade - so don't blame me! I did agree with Georger's feelings regardng Snow, but then remember Georger would love for me to be gone. Snowmman was really pushing the limits. We have gone to goverment sites, archives and other places - NO one know much about what was going on at Camp Bonneville in Wa over the yrs. Even the locals didn't know...other than rumors. Perhaps "Cooper" was at Camp Bonneville at one time in his life for several months. Cooper had to know the area very well (Or, Id and Wa) - what skills and occupations would have allowed him this capability? He would have only have been on temporary assignment in WA and not a full time resident - or someone would have recognized him. What short term assignments did military and non military personel do in WA requiring they have extensive knowledge of the forests and mountains and the terrain? For someone who is an attorney you sure missed the boat - what do you NOT understand about END STAGE - prostrate cancer? This means he has done very thing there is to be done - and now he travels a road a large majority of us will travel one day. Even though there are many questions I would like to ask and to be able to talk to him about face to face - that may not be possible now. I hope his daughter shows up to hold his hand and to be there with him. I hope he has someone to walk this path with him and is not alone...when he said he went there to be with his daughter and she was missing...that told me ALL I needed to know about Sheridan himself...His daughter is all he has left. I called the FBI today for the first time in a long time. The agent was NOT LARRY CARR. This new agent has not been assigned the Cooper Case yet. I was told to MAIL my information to the FBI and my request. NO INFORMATION is processed on this case unless it is mailed. THIS may mean the information I shared with CARR by email probably never got into the FBI system. Maybe on his defense it did...but I have had a feeling that it did not and figured he was just using it to further his career or claim he solved the case AFTER I die. I am going to resend that information and the new information - but it is a LOT of stuff. Maybe I should just take it to the LOCAL office and hand it to them and request a reciept. What I am going to do is reprint ALL of the emails I sent to CARR and the pictures. I did keep a file on it and hard copied all of it - plus on CD backup. I hope the last 3 yrs have not been wasted - this last new piece of information was going to require the help of the FBI, because I have in the last few days exhausted all the avenues I have to trace this info. The other explanation is that this agent has no idea who Cooper is and they have put the case in the dead zone. 377: The battery in the brief case could have been used to power a light. Perhaps what was in the paper bag was the attaching strobe. It was about the right size. Help me with this: Duane had a gadget - I didn't understand - so maybe some of you guys could explain it to me. It was a case big enough for a large battery and it had a part that was like the head of a flash light only it was just the light part with wires that clamped onto a battery - but all I ever saw was the little case and the head part. The case was canvas material with a loop on it so without the battery - it was only as big as a baseball (only thing I can think of right now). It had a red lens cover in the case and an orange one. The agent called me after he got back to his office and told me he had left something in the box I wasn't supposed to have. WELL, I went to the box and found the INVOICE with was a detail sign in and out of each item and the person checking that item. I am reporting what was in the box and the report that was int he box.
