Well, The picture is of an older Christiansen and appears to have been staged. He died in 1994 - a yr before Weber died, so if they can VALIDATE the date of the photo - he was not doing the picture in relation to the Cooper Hype going on in 1996 when the FBI was approached regarding Weber. The picture shows a briefcase (commmon), a whitish bag and the ticket in his pocket. Now I wonder what enhancement of that photo will show. The whitish bag had printing on the side of the bag - does this bag have that printing on it? The bag I saw in 1990 had in black printing the name of the bank and the city and state. The ticket in his pocket - will enhancement show dates or numbers - any information at all that will identify it? Since there is a copy of the ticket in the FBI files which has been made public, what will an enhancement show? The brief case? A very common item...but there has always been a secret or discrepancy about this. Even though the FBI stated a briefcase - it was also reported to have been a satchel of sorts (perhaps this was media error). The photo appears to be staged but does NOT show the money or the inside of the briefcase. What would put him on that plane - the inside of the briefcase or a picture of the money? Therefore I will state exactly what the FBI has stated to me -"You have to put him on the plane!" This enquiry was relayed to me by a party who now denies it. One of those POOF moments. I will not give up - his person had NO reason to lie to me, but now seems to not remember saying it. I simply want to know who this information was relayed to or how someone else found out about it. Back within the last few yrs there was a remark made regarding a family member of a passenger who was trying to find out what happened to some very "Specific Items" never returned to the family member. This occurred during some activities in WA concerning Cooper. Either a journalist, TV person or another participant was approached...there was a brief mention of this, but since I live in the SO. I was never able to trace the validity of this enquiry. I have tried to find a complete LIST of the passengers and was only provided with a partial list. This was prior to my introducing an item on this forum. When I did introduce the specific item the forum took a turn going somewhere else regarding the item. My reason for introducing this article - became lost in the rhetoric. I never found where the remark came from or who the interviewer was or if the conversation with these spectators and family members actually took place? It was shortly after I heard about this enquiry that I pulled this item from the memorabilia Duane left behind and made it public. I think all of you will remember this item - because it was suggested (not by me) the little girl could be Tina. Maybe it is , but more than likely it belonged to the woman who owned this book and perhaps the owner of another item in my possession. The statement supposedly took place during an investigation instigated by members of this forum? Recently revisiting statements made to me by the FBI yrs ago -regarding souveniers taken and kept by Cooper - it has been suggested I make efforts to expose this item to the public. My move has NOTHING to do with Jerry or anyone on this forum nor does it have to do with Tina...All parties with any consideration for her have agreed to this and I hope they abide by it. In the event she still remembers "something" of importance there are trigger points that can be introduced without contacting her. At least your statement above does lend itself to what I believe to have happend and a story told to me over the yrs by another person and Duane. But who knows maybe the CB was used for Duane and this person to commit other crimes and is no connection to Cooper. Re: FBI The FBI called me today - no other than LARRY CARR, so supposedly he still has the Cooper case. He was talking to me and you could hear squawking in the back ground which was his "radio". Therefore we can assume he is still the Agent of Record for Cooper, because my call was to Ray Lauer and I was only able to leave a message for Lauer yesterday. I recieved no new information from CARR and he still stands by the the statements made on this forum from the FIOA. Therefore, I was not able to move forward with information from him as he still stands by only what is reported in the FIOA. CARR denied any knowledge of the information I have recently acquired.....he DID state that I might get in trouble if I made my next move....this I do NOT understand. Tired of the battle and made a phone call to the FBI - but all I got was a recording. I will give it a few days for this person to respond - if he does NOT - and if his answer makes no sense I will continue with my plan (which I have not discussed in this forum) to settle my objectives. Recieved many points of views from individuals I spoke to in the last few days regarding my next move - they differ in opinions - but, I know I will take this to closure in the next 3 months. I need to move on. Closure means I will have to go public and not what I want. I was one for publicity, but in 2000 after getting no where with the authorities, I went public. The things that happened after that nearly destroyed me and so in 2002 - I became a very private person again in a new location. Closure to move on, means the FBI has to talk to me and to others - encase they forgot what happened in 1971 and the "secrets" that are still kept within the FBI files..if they ever existed at all. Another party - wanted to know IF I told the FBI certain facts. This is my reason for contacting them --- to be assured what I told the FBI has been recorded and if the person or persons responsible for relaying this information ever actually checked them out If that informaton has been ignored then a great injustice has been done not only to me but others..and actions to correct it need to be done NOW - not 2 yrs from now or after I have died. Believe me the FBI has kept SECRETS regarding this case. How appropriate was Ckrets avatar name. No need to reply to this post - just letting you know where I am going and that I will not stop until I get answer regarding everything tolded to the FBI by the witnesses and if 2 important things I relayed to them correspond - (note told to them in 1996) and then again in 1997. Recent statements made to me are cause to believe the FBI has selective recall on the files.. or the agent of record did NOT study the "look for" points. This Special Issue is amazing - 48 pages about Earl Cooley and the his days of jumping. Fantastic photos and this entire issue is black and white - great collectible item. I am sure they would send anyone interested this issue for a generous donation. I realize this is a skyjump forum, but the history of jumping (all phases) is extremely interesting and collectible. Since I have been doing my research I have collected any written memorbial regarding Smokejumping I could find and afford. If anyone has some they don't want - I will take if - cheap (better yet - free). If it is material you do not want to part with - perhaps you could share it with me - make copies or loan it to me. Lots of suspects! I was told if they were not in the registry they were never smokejumpers, but even one of their own stories contradicts this. One guy did not meet muster and when on down the road...surely there where many others who got the basics but just didn't make the cut or chose to leave...prior to being accredited smoke jumpers. Another source of information I read - even stated that only a certain number out of the trainees made it. So what happened to these other guys? The wannabees who didn't make it? I am just curious and it is not something anyone can answer, because most of them are deceased, senile or too old to know that there is anyone who cares about the wannabees. Perhaps the FBI should have looked a little harder in 1971 and in my opinion the wannabe's would have been a good place to look - but, as I have been told there is NO Record of these guys. Your are right. My last earnest discussion in the late 90's with the FBI told me I had to put him on the plane. This agent was making hints - that everyone keeps souveniers of things. I simply recounted the things that disappeared. He was fishing for something - and I did not know what it could be. This was later repeated to me a couple of more time in my rare contacts with the FBI - Carr never actually said anything about "something that would put Cooper on the plane". In fact if my memory serves me right he NEVER mentioned this at all - yet Hope and Mueller both made this statement to me. In recent discussion with an individuals - I mention 3 things and was asked not once but 3 times "Did you tell the FBI about this". I am still puzzled at the reactions of this person to this - but, the skeptic in me says it was just me "wanting" it to mean something. Sluggo is the only one I trust talking to about this, but he refuses to communicate with me - I guess he just doesn't want to tell me how crazy I am...but my gut keeps telling me I need to do something and I am afraid to and can't do it alone. I have all of my communications with the company who took me to WA in May of 2001 EMAILS to the PRODUCER: One of the most important of these communications includes everything I have maintained and Jerry has disputed. I talk about the side trip and The Dalles. I tell her that we crossed over the Columbia to Hwy 14 and that he told me about the Bridge of the Gods.I mention turning off of hwy 14 and tell her about this this big body of water Duane took me to after turning North off of Hwy 14. I tell her about the tower and logging camp and the cottage remnants on and near this body of water. All in this email of May 1, 2001...before I went to WA on the 2ed. I tell about fire (?) tower and a logging camp. A prison with a high fence around it and what I thought was a camp grounds. Then I mention the Baldy and then we go to 500 - and what he said about a car being left there. I also tell her about Dollar Corner and Duane knowing someone there. I am specific about the cottages and the cabin being in the Wasgougal area...and I had been told it belonged to an old School teacher by a historian there and it had been torn down, Never knew if the historian and the second hand information was correct. At any rate you get the jest of what was said in that email prior to the trip I made in May of 2001. I do refer to this body of water being the Columbia because Jerry "told" me it had to be the Columbia - never mentioning Lake LaCames. He tells me that Duane turned me around. I am specific in the email that we turned off of Hwy 14 and Duane thinking he had missed his turn.I say mention we do end up on another body of water (a wide body of water) one which I called the Columbia because Jerry DRILLED and DRILLED into me that Duane had to HAVE TURN ME AROUND AND TAKEN ME BACK TO THE COLUMBIA. No one took me to Lake LaCames because they like myself had been told it had to be the Columbia River. But any one knowing that area would have taken me to the lake. I knew what the Washougal looked and and was adamant those cottages and that old house was not on the Washougal. As for monies exchanging hands - no. She mentions in a prior email that H- doesn't want to give away his time and they intend to pay us 500 apiece. I inform her I do NOT want any monies as it would compromise my credibility and to use it for the research and trip. If you all wish for me "to keep digging thru the files" for more validations of my story - I will do so. I have not been out of my nightgown all day and did not go to sleep until around 5:30 AM this morning awaking at 12:30 PM. I do correct her in some information later on in another email. She was under the impression there was a witness in the room when Duane confessed. My next email tells her the same thing I have repeated over and over...that it was not until the mention of the bucket that another party was present. Since she had been talking to Jerry I expect that is where the information came from or it could have been reported in an article on in the media that way...why I do not deal with the media anymore. The driver was a guy named Jamison - who picked me up at the airport. PS: I did just NOW go back and read the posts - I agree with all of you, but please understand I fought for my honor and the truth. Call me anything, but a liar. I hate a liar and how I was raised. The "white" lies I have HAD to tell...to be nice and to protect others are even difficult for me...but I do it - because it is the right thing to do. All of the things Jerry has said here are disputed with black and white documents and the statements of others. I will not subject myself to this kind of abuse anymore nor will I allow myself to be reduced to his level. Anyone who knows me knows what I have said was the truth and what Duane's friend said was the truth. I have the documentations and I have to prove none of this to Jerry. A man who would go to these extremes could be physically explosive and dangerous to others...these are tactiics condemed by our own government regarding prisoners of war. She was able to get them to pay her outragious phone bill and give her 15 minutes of fame. No one ever paid my phone bills EVER. They brought her out here to show them where duane took her only for her to tell them she couldn't remember anything.After the crew left Jo decided to rent a car and travel towards lacamas lake get some maps. I didn't tell them I couldn't remember anything - I had not been prepared for the places they took me - they were NO WHERE near what I had described. You KNOW very well I didn't rent a car and that had an uncover cop and 3 local women picked me up -I even spent the next night with one of the ladies. I did not purchase any maps while I was there but one was provided by the nephew. You need to read the post before this one and then Make A PUBLIC apology. My heart can't take anymore of this...I have two pills in me right now trying to calm down. Well guys - I can't take anymore of this. The FBI told me I had to put him on the plane. Hopefully I have enough to do that - I know that lately the air has been so thick you could whip it with a beater into foam. If I didn't put Duane on the plane then the FBI has discovered something new regarding the case. WA is silent right now. I told someone about something a few wks ago and I am hoping that I may have struck a nerve...I know I was asked the same question 3 times in ONE short conversation? Maybe it was just curiosity on the part of the other person - but, I can hope - RIGHT? The chute part is not hard to figure out if you learn the history of Weber in the late 40's and then again in the late 50's. Just for your information we confirmed a LONG time ago that Weber lived for a very short period of time in the Columbus, Ga area. This information was told to me and recorded yrs ago. She didn't know what name was used and may not have been Collins or Weber. They were only there for a few wks. Does that put him in a chute? - NO, but it does validate he did live in the Phoenix area for a brief period of time which means he did not lie. Did he lie about the jumping part in that story? Probably not. Is the above paragraph - fiction or truth or theory or a mixture? The recorded statement of his living in the area is true. The rest is up to someone else, as there are bits of information I have sat on for yrs. PS. The FBI was made aware of this information as soon as it was obtained. You have stated the above before and I have no idea what you are talking about - I am sure if I ever said anything about Pit or Cruise it would have been in jest or fun...I have NOT even seen a movie with these guys. I have been to one movie in 32 yrs...and that was Beyond Rangoon. I do not rent movies either. If it is not on prime time TV and on the major Free public Channels I do not see it...I have antenae only. I read lots of books. Dollar Corner Tavern was still standing in May of 2001 when I was there with the crew. We went in and spoke with some of the guys hanging out there. One man's name was Snow. That is all I remember. Your source is in error. I have the written records of this visit along with the names of the men there. Across the street was another business we went in - but that establishment was not there in 1971 or 1979. Lots of yrs had gone by and new businesses had occupied that building over time. Duane did tell me he knew a man in Dollars Corner who had a business there and mentioned The Tavern. (Note, that Jerry in past posts has claimed this was another bar in another place on this forum) and claimed the one in Dollar's Corner was NOT the bar I mentioned. Yet, I have it in black and white - I have talked about that place since the beginning. 3. Duane mentioned a bar near the Scholls Airport. 4. Duane mentioned a place in the Washougal loop that was a hang out for the guys. I didn't understand this then or now. 5. As for knowing band members. Duane was a very good singer, he knew LOTS of band and piano players. One did many yrs later have his own band - I don't remember the name anymore. Everyone starts someplace and lots of performer played in Bars in CA and other places in the 40's and 50's. 6.Duane Weber never had a band. 7. Duane never played in a band although he told me he played an instrument (didn't we all in high school). 8. There was a man who pulled me aside in Dollars Corner in 2001 (day time with a group helping to retract the trip) and told me he thought Duane might be a man who came in - singing for drinks - a ladies man - but, the genre was Country Western and I never heard Duane sing a country western song. Not out of the realm of possiblities since he knew individuals who played the guitar. We were told to find a hermit type man who lived in the area as he might have known who this singer was since they seemed to know each other. Certain parties wish nothing more than to discredit me for their own purpose. I do enough of that on my own and certainly don't need any help in doing so. Almost everyone here has been an excellent source of information - and has been helpful and for the most part extremely polite and courteous. I have researched my own (paper) files from the 1996 and 1997. I found a letter I wrote to Himmelsbach (remember I didn't have a computer so all communications occurred on the phone and by mail). On the back of this letter I drew a map using my memory and the Osha map I had of that 1/2 of the USA... I think I had found a State map in an Atlas, but do not remember when I acquired a regular State map. I am sure I didn't go out and buy one. It is a pencil drawing with the over all view in the lower half and the close in view on the upper half -- there is a line drawn to separate the two versions. The over-all view shows Hwy 14 and the loop (which is the Washougal River). There are 3 X's marked around that area. 1. I State on the map "I think we were here" pointing to all 3 of the X's near the Washougal area. 2. Since I didn't have a map that showed any detail -- this little drawing shows a line which I labled 500 and then a line going off of this with the remark stated in number 3. 3. I wrote on the map "He talked about a man who owned a place in Dollars corner but we didn't go there". The upper half is where I tried to draw with some detail the area around What I LATER found to be Lake LaCames without the aid of anyone but the Angel Udell and the friends in WA who assisted me in 2001. Bear in mind that the drawing was done prior to my trip and in the very beginning of my search. In this drawing it shows the water wide then narrowing and I have put the cottages in the right place. Since I didn't know it was a LAKE - I had a stream of water going in and out. Therefore until I went to WA in 2001 and discovered it was a lake - my conception was it was a river. I put the area Duane pointed to when he stated "That's were Cooper walked out of the woods." on the wrong end of this wide body of water (East versus West)- I was trying to draw what my mind could remember. I know why my memory logged it this way - because when we came back from the hill which is where he did some turns, I thought the water I was seeing was a continuation of that same body of water. It was actually the water we had just passed. I remembered trying to explain that the water was on my right and then again on my left. Dumb Blonde moment. The party assisting me by phone insisted Duane and I would have had to cross a bridge and it had to be the Columbia and was under the impression Duane must have double back. I kept insisting we were not on the Columbia. On this same map I show the Logging road on the South side of the lake and on the North side remnants of what used to be 3 cottages on a gravel, rock and dirt area on a point on this body of water. ====================== All of the above is what I tried to convey to those who offered to assist me. One party insisted but never convinced me where we had to be - it would not be until my trip in 2001 that I found the area - and it is very close to one I did with pencil and paper trying to describe what I had seen at that time 18 yrs before. Thank you for that informaion and the site. Had been there before but either it changed or I didn't grasp onto the information provided in the text regarding McNeil. Camp Columbia certainly answered a lot of Question the FBI could easily have answered for me but refused to do so. If he was sent there from McNeil that would explain his knowing the area... might explain the Camino connection. Especially if any of those guys were at McNeil at any given time - wonder how one finds that out? I would bet the it was Unruh because that is the one Duane mentioned about the cowboy boots and his guitar. Since 1945 thru 1949 is blank in the history of Weber - did he go back to WA and continue to work there? The places and stories would indicate he did so. The familiarity with Dollar Corner and his knowing a man there - plus all other bars, towers, tracks, pipelines, power lines, and airstrips, businesses, cemetaries, the area and people indicate he did remain or return to the area during a period he was not encarcerated. If the FBI had knowledge of this why wasn't I told or if others had knowledge of this why did they not talk to me and explain it? It would certain have narrowed down my search and time expended not to mention the yrs of my life this has used up. Perhaps if they let it be known that Weber was in Wa for several yrs that would only increase the likely hood he might be Cooper? It is eveident he spent more than 6 months in the area...so why wasn't this ever discussed? Did these Columbia prisoners - go to bars, work on power lines, pipelines, cemetaries, airstrips and towers??? Probably not therefore his famililarity had to occur in the following yrs. Now the big question is where was he and what was he doing and who did he know? The names of the individuals encarcerated at facility will provide those answers.
