I communicated with Bruce earlier tonight and told him about the book by David G. Hubbard - THE SKYJACKER His Flights of FANTASY. Published in 1971. I have the book and was one of the first book I acquired and I forget who sent me that book. Since Bruce is doing a pretty good job regarding the past skyjackers I recommended he acquire and read this book. The book was the result of a study by grant from an individual who did NOT want to be known...and required anonymity for himself. THis book is a study of early skyjackings prior to 1971. In the book he profiles several (multiple) skyjackers. Hubbard was a DALLAS benefactor who backed Hubbard for the study into the 20 skyjackers. Most of the interviews where conducted within the penal system. I felt this book would be a reference point for Bruce since he seems engrossed in the prior skyjackers. P.S. I know who the benefactor was - but NO ONE else does and my lips are sealed. The benefactor was a powerful man and humanitarian. Strangely it could have been the research into this book and Coopers knowledge of the benefactor that motivated him to commit the crime in 1971. How appropriate since the book was published in 1971. NOTE: Hubbard was a pshychiatrist in Dallas and consultant to the U.S. Public Health Research Center in Fort Worth and to the MEDICAL CENTER for Federal Prisoners in SPRINGFIELD Missouri. The benefactor also resided in Texas. Duane was in Jefferson 1966 to 1968. Duane knew the benefactor. Can I prove it? DON't even think for one moment that I can! Maybe yes, maybe no. When I read the book - I had knowledge of some of these little known and remembered individuals ...why? Because someone mentioned a few of them to me over the yrs! When U guys figure out this puzzle I will be long gone. JO may appear on the surface to be a tease, but she had been told some of the stories and yet until someone gifted her with the book many yrs ago - she was unaware of the connections. The creator has a strange way of letting those who need to know secrets kept for many yrs. Did Hubbard's book or did the benefactors interest in Skyjacking influence Cooper to make the jump in Nov of 1971? Riddles - I won't solve this case for you guys - U will have to do that, but like others my secret won't be taken to the grave with me, but they also won't be revealed in this thread. ROBERT U ARE WRONG! Smokejumpers - did have equipment dropped with a separate chute - AND one was just quoted to U. Mann Gluch. Perhaps U need to READ the books I have read! Weber did NOT need to be a smokejumper - but in close association with jumpers and worked in the camps and with the forestry. U let too much trivia get in YOUR way! I am not a precise poster, but I do recall what I have read. Since this is a MUTE point U need to go back and read a couple of post I made above. Cooper is NOT about Smokejumpers or forestry or espionage or coverts. U dwelled too much on precise language - U need to look at all of the story. Remember that Smoke Jumpers were for jumping into remote areas with minimal equipment in order to fight the fire until more personnel could arrive by land. So Smoke Jumpers at the start of a fire would basically be few in numbers and using only tools that they could carry and use by hand. Of course, those tools were dropped in by small parachutes but they sure didn't weigh 400 pounds. JO REPLIES! I have some OLD books that will contradict what you stated above, but right now I am in the middle of something else. Yes, they carried their immediate equipment with them, but they also dropped supplies to the camps. One can only carry so much. Men and Tall Trees is the book I think addresses this or Young Men and Fires (I do not have a copy of this last book, but made some copies of a few of the pages that were of interest to me). I will state CATEGORICALLY and with CONFIDENCE YOU ARE WRONG! When those jumpers get on the ground they only have so much in rations and food and equipment is dropped. I remember one of the articles about their Dropping Radio Equipment to the crew. I remember this because it was significant to the things I knew about Weber. Smoke Jumpers and forestry was the very first part of my research and it WAS extensive. This was because of things Duane had told me about people he knew (which it turns out he was talking about himself in 3rd person). It took me a long time to realize what he had done during the 17 yrs of my marriage to him. He could NOT tell me he was an ex-con, but he sure did talk about ex-cons, crimes and smokejumper and he knew all of the equipment. How I knew about Spokane - WHAT the FBI never wanted me to know! An old jumper in Spokane by the name of Harris was the key and that name turned up Paperlegs and others he spoke of. WONDER WHY the FBI NEVER acknowledge that Weber had an arrest record in WA prior to 1950! One story Duane told me and I did NOT get what he was talking about - crates of supplies dropped in to a camp site. This dropping of crates might not have had to do with smokejumpers, but it did have to do with Forestry workers...since it is obvious Weber was NOT stationed overseas during WAR time. Now if U want we can discuss - covert and soldiers of fortune, but frankly I do NOT like going in that direction - but, THE FBI was the one who caused me to even entertain this, plus Duane talking about 3 training sites during Paperlegs reign with Intermountain Operations out of Canon, Leadville and AZ and a small area North of Ft. Collins. This may have been Duane's connections to Tony Wong, Tommy Gunn, Paperlegs and P.Harris and perhaps his connection to MOUSE! I now believe I know who Mouse was because that would explain Duane's fascination with a fire in the Western location in the after 88. He told me he knew 2 guys who worked that area and this was the same media event in which he mentioned he was fire training. The time of this was 1962 to 1966 - Duane was known as John (Johnnie) Collins. This is ALSO the same time era of Ed Horan who I believe to also have been an excon - an escapee! A guy with xxxxxsssss was also known to hire excons in that time frame - approached me after I enquired of him about Duane's confession and Duane's employment with him. The man made a statement that is NOT puzzling if you want to believe the soldier of fortune or covert stories. "I wasn't proud of all I did". IT was a slip of the tongue in a conversation - but he quickly caught himself when I asked what that was about. Individuals from the past of Duane seemed to be far and between except those from the era of John (Johnnie) Collins. Duane was a man without a past to most who knew him other than casually. WHY? Does it make sense why I drift in and out of the covert / soldier of fortune - even mafia things? Remember that the MAIN man (NOT the man mentioned above) was CONNECTED to many things and polilticians and he arranged a lot of security and he had connection to people in HIGH Places...Political and under the table! That is why he was able to warn of foreboding, but he was ignored. When that happened he did WHAT he could to protect the individual he admired - but those who do NOT want to be protected cannot be protected. That is GOOD! Got my laugh before I tuck myself in! Made some big decisions tonight - Now I just need to follow thru. Sell the house and go HOME. Thing is I don't know where HOME is any more! Will take a loss, but thought I could wait out the market and get thur the Cooper thing. BUT time to get on DOWN the ROAD as Duane always said. Come on Jo let get on down the Road. Lets get this SHOW on the ROAD! Wonder if Cooper said anything like that to Tina or the crew during the skyjacking? REALLY wierd that is what is going thru my mind tonight. Got some estimates on making repairs to the house - not bad, but do not know what I will find on the other end. Dead on What you just said about Blevins below! Putting WORDS in people's mouth is how Blevins wrote his book about KC! The very tactic he uses on the chute and Cossey and others is exactly how he used conversations with 2 old ladies. Thank HEAVENS I never wrote a book, but the story about Weber has hung around for 17 yrs.

NEED CLARIFICATION 1. Backpack Cooper jumped with. Cooper jumped with ONE chute. The other chute he left on the plane. 2. The remaining Backpack on the plane - is that the one he cut the cords from to secure his package or did he cut the cords from the Dummy front pack and then threw the chute out. 3. Front Pack -1 - one he used. 4. Front pack - 2 was a dummy. Exactly WHAT was left on the plane and from which of the others did he cut the cords from. The good front pack? The dummy front pack? OR the other GOOD chute? Please someone ACTUALLY answer this without a lot of Mumbo Jumbo. I have read the accounting several time and it is NOT CLEAR at least not to a layman. If I had them in that Pontiac - I never used them! I had to get in and out of my car 30/40 times a day - from 1988 unit 1994 I did Debit insurance - collecting premiums door to door...the Pontiac took a beating. I bought it brand new in Va. Beach, VA and we left there in 1987 to go to AL and then in 1988 to FL. I believe the Pontiac was bought in 1983/84 because it was paid for before we moved to Fl. in 1988 ...3 yrs was the financing I did. Dark Green with velour upholstery - I had to make a cover for the seat out of a slippery dull satin fabric so I could SLIDE in and OUT! Nothing important because it has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING! Something you do everyday you forget or shouldn't forget - but, I am certain it did NOT have the shoulder belt. The BONNEVILLE - I am in limbo about that one - you have created DOUBT in my mind about the Park Avenue, but I did NOT sell insurance out of it. A total different kind of clientel. Wasn't getting in and out of it 40/50 times a day. Wearing suits to work in - if it had the belt across the chest - you can bet I didn't use it! Would NOT want to mess up that suit jacket to make a presentation in. Now I would not drive out of the drive way without my seat belt on. I know it had the air bag because that is what broke my glasses frames and drove them into my eye and my nose. I think that is what cut me and not the windshield but the windshield did break and my left window....shattered. I had the one cut on my eye and MY frames where destroyed, but the lens remained intact. This wreck thing it is making a WRECK out of me. Find the fricking towers - lets move on if I linger on the damn wreck I will be afraid to make a trip to Sam's or the Dr. and those are 28 miles away in traffic. Depends on which tower you are talking about. The tower that was and then wasn't or the 2 towers which I assume it was sandwiched in between. Would prefer to do this by private emails - not in the thread. There is a lot of what is now private property in the area and NO need to buy trouble. Remember the area Sluggo's pen was pointed at - almost dead on. I have been on the computers and never found anything regarding forestry (private owned lumber company towers) which is what I think it was. IT was there in 1971 and not there in 1979. Sandwich that between to large tower whose signals you could see from a long ways. Triangulate that with the VOR. Just one half of the marquise - the rest I believe was just co-incidental or his way of heading away from the area if he did NOT have transportation stashed in the area. I believe he may have had help. Was Weber the help and did Cooper not survive. If that is the senario then I might know where Cooper's bones are and perhaps other evidence. I only say that from the ODD remark Duane Weber made at a sight removed from the above sites...and South of those sites. Check the old cemetery records for an unusual designations - I found it yrs ago by contacting the county of the cemetery, but NO longer know where they are. A grave site paid for but NO marker. Deceased Nov. 24, 1971. It was ODD. Duane told me he knew someone buried in that cemetery. Have NO idea where that information is in all the paper files of research (paper and more paper). Boxes of it stored away from the house - too much to keep or to remember, but I didn't know how and didn't trust computers - still don't. YRS ago I shared this with Jerry Thomas and he dissed me. I gave him the specifics at that time. This way before I knew he was NOT really looking for Cooper - just a game or was he part of another game altogether? It was prior to 2000. I shared that info with him during the 1st 3 yrs of my search under the guidance of & recommendations Mr. H. Anything buried in that cemetery could be relocated to the very area that JT toots and the testing might then declare the remains had been in the WASHOUGAL SHED as JT claimed. Strange Duane made both statements but did NOT take me directly to the Cemetary. When I was in WA in 2010 - 2 yrs + ago --- I was not sure I found the right cemetary - things had changed so much and it was pouring cats and dogs...not a good day for walking an old cemetary. I made posts about this WAY back...with more detail. Now all I have is my memory and my finger tips. Eyes not good enough to go thur the research to even try to find it. If you want more details than this U know where the phone is. I could read off what is on the map and that would help. Trying to read the map and type does not work. Mine had the blue interior with the same veneers on the doors, but the leather seats did NOT have the narrow ribs on the models you post. My son-in-law who sold me the car has not been available and I do NOT know if he will remember the yr of the auto. I acquired it to replace the Pontiac I gave my daughter. Hard to remember the yrs of the cars. It has been a lot of yrs, but I really do NOT remember it having the narrow ribs in the leather seat or the 3 point saftey belt. I have checked all of the old records and the tax reports did NOT require the yr or make on the autos - just the mileage. This is a mute point....at least to me, but a curiousity! The car I gave my daughter had lots of miles on it and I needed a better car to sell real estate. Hence he found the Park Avenue and it looked like new with low mileage one owner and garage kept. I acquired it in 1997 if I remember correctly I stated 1996 before, but I had the Pontiac the 1st yr selling Real Estate. I think the KEY word is STARTED and NOT mandatory. THe Pontiac I bought in 1984 or 1985 (BRAND NEW did NOT have anything but the hip belt). The Park Avenue was NOT a 1995 Duane died in 1995 and I could NOT afford NEW cars only had 2 new cars in my life. A Pontiac in 1984 or 1985 and the one I bought in 2003 which I am still driving - an SUV. WHEW! I just pulled some old tax reports I thought I had disposed of and right in front was the Vehicle registration on the Tan Buick I replaced the White one with I had wrecked. My son-in-law had found this one for me and I got the tag in Aug of 2000 after the accident. I expect the Tan and the wrecked white one were the same age. The replacement was a 1993. Had HOPED to put certain things on the table with the FBI, but that has NOT happened. I wanted their reply on this, but I have to get it to them and they know of the existence of these items, so I assume they ARE NOT intereste. NOT anything I want to introduce on the thread. Should I do so then there will be others posting pictures of their suspect with this or that item! I just do NOT want to go public without 1st confronting the FBI with this stuff...or at least being able to present the items to Tina. I do NOT expect she remembers anything - it was 3 hours out of her life and she was scared to death inside. The FBI drags if feet - a few months ago there was 3 of the Nickles left and today what is left has no memory. Same way with the old Smokejumpers - one old old guy has all the photos and I doubt if he will be around for very long - He has an entire album like I sent to Florence - the one I never got back (the return was in the package prepaid)and that was never acknowledge as received. JUST tired of fighting the sytem - it is NOT fair. Why should I be forced to go PUBLIC when I really do NOT want to do so? SOMEDAY after I am gone - someone will present the one piece that brings everything together. A grave yard, a chute, a missing person - more than ONE person was involved in this crime - maybe 3. There was a stupid riddle Duane used to repeat about a little Indian boy, but BK got hold of my brain with his stupid stuff and I lost the riddle in my head. It was an indian riddle used on a reservation near Missoula. Duane recited the riddle on our trip to WA in 1971 when he remembered the young man he got in trouble with in the Coure d'alene area. NO one know how hard I have tried to remember that damn riddle. The Riddle used by Paperlegs was similar, but this riddle but, was about an Indian boy he got in trouble with (funny sounding name - just had a fragment of a memory)....or used by the parents of the Indian Boy. The boy was younger than Duane - something I remembered just flashed. Duane was responsible for the trouble they got into....didn't say what the trouble was . He could never go BACK! If he could never go BACK as late as 1979 - what the hell was he talking about? The mind and the memory is a miraculous thing. One tiny bit of memory understress and duress triggers a deeper memory one thought was buried forever and ever. Didn't miss it - I did explain about going to the safe deposit box and then to get photos made and then home and then back to the box. My energy nor my car would allow me to make the trip...26 miles to box, then 18 to photo and then go back the way I came or go 29 miles back home. Then I have to make a trip 26 miles to and back to return the stuff to the box. Items I think MIGHT put WEBER on the plane! Now the other thing is co-ordinates of an area Duane took me to in 1979, but that won't put him on the plane. FBI said I had to put him on the plane...YET, they never showed all of the photos of Duane to the witnesses. I have been encouraged to GO public one last time - with the condition ALL photo are examined and used and I am allowed to voice certain thing. These things COULD not be cut out. Problem is I hate cameras and I freeze up and sound stupid - I guess I sound stupid because maybe I am. Starting to call myself STUPID OLD WOMAN every time I get upset. My History with Duane started in 1977 - but the past of Weber and Collins and his travels is very convoluted. I actually have MORE than the FBI because if what they have is what Carr posted on this thread, they are in deep water! THAT information was thread and I had requested many time. What Carr posted was incomplete or they didn't find the "other" records. I am not an investigator, I wanted to know who my husband was and what he was involved in and why he told me what he did. I questioned the accident, but was told it was my fault - I had no memory other than my injuries and my fear it could be connected to Cooper. I was trying to leave things to the FBI. IN FACT I did communicate to them the fact I thought the accident was related to the MAN from Duane's past. NEVER got past a mouth piece or a recording! I had already told you this 2000 accident was a useless thing to persue. Why did YOU persist? The answer is? Because you just wanted to make me Look bad to others. U persued - I did NOT! YOU needed to make a point that JO was NOT a good INVESTIGATOR. THAT my DEAR is the FBI's JOB or so I thought! U would find the above statement offensive only if U were FBI involved with the investigation of Weber/Collins. With nothing more than a telephone - I think I did a damn good job finding out about Duane's past. Remember I didn't own a computer until 2000 and then I had to learn to use it. U would never survive 17 yrs of what I have live thru! U have been at this maybe 2 yrs now - and U have ALL READY chewed the rabbit ears off. NO explanation has ever been provided regarding the man above who threatened me! Why did this man KNOW Duane as JOHN? Why & how did this man know DUANE as JOHN COLLINS and from where? That is RED and BOLD because the statement needs to be addressed by the FBI. Don't SLAM me for things the FBI should have done - ASK the FBI why they didn't check out T.Gunn? Why they didn't check out another person who knew Duane as John Collins - that being Tony Wong? HOW did these men know each other and why was Duane's name the only one that was FAKE....or did ALL of the guy have a shared past that involve their just going POOF! Blue because it needs attention from the FBI and for anyone who is serious about ruling Weber out! WHY did Duane tell me that Gunn was a DANGEROUS MAN? To protect himself or to protect me? Find out who TOMMY GUNN was and U might solve the case. The answers lie within. I tried and got NO where. IT just took me back to another man who did NOT exist prior to 1962 ED HORAN....WHY did the FBI NOT have their artist and specialist compare the two pics. One of Anglin supposedly deceased in 1962 and one of Horan in 1983 who according to the person I took it to are ONE and the SAME! Too many STRANGE things to ignore and just pass on by.
