Nice story. How about some eyecandy to go with the lit?

Mathematically speaking, what is a (base)jumper? Is it everyone who (hypothetically) got their BASE nr.? Or does it require a number of jumps (of this or that category) during a number of years?

Wow it's a good thing you guys found out about their REVOLTING tactics. Makes my stomac turn that someone would go this far. WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN????? -
You're in the best position to consider the matter. Also: I wouldn't call my post a flame. It's not like I'm judging your parental skills or something. Just don't get too low (or shot)

Since you posted it, with all due respect and I realize it's your call, but; Don't you think it's a little early for her to see you jump off a bridge? I'm not saying you should leave your kids in the dark about anything, but I feel like this is pushing it a bit. First of all, I doubt whether a 4 year old brain can compute the concept of basejumping being fun instead of dangerous. (Edit: scratch that, apparently it can) Also, figuratively speaking, you might as well strap her to your harnass, cause if something should go wrong (touchwood etc), she's gonna be seriously traumatized. Of couse that's also the case for the older kid. Just a thought.

Yeah man I think it's Totem Pole. Either that or 3S. Thx that's all I needed to know really.

Hey I just saw a movie about free climbing and it isn't listed so I don't know the title. Please help me out point me in the right direction as to where I should be asking this. All I saw was two guys freeclimbing a needle-like rock (very high and very slim), by following a crack in the wall. All the surroundings were desert like with cliffs here and there. One guy (blonde) can't make it and climbs back down onto a ledge. The other guy (hippy) does make it and watches an eagle fly by. That same eagle attacks yet another dude who takes pictures of the two other climbers by dangling from a rope. He drops his camera and that's the end. Credits did mention the words arizona and I think navaho. It was rather old (eighties?) and one of the freeclimbers had a french accent. Thx

I'm coming up to the two year mark. It certainly feels like I'm in a longterm relationship. Certainly because as far as I am concerned (one never knows what oes on in the significant other's brain) it's gonna last.

...and sacred grounds can only be threaded upon by millions of paying visitors, not basejumped on. I don't understand why it's ok to do pretty much anything but basejumping on NPS/Indian/Holy land.

Skip mouth-to-mouth step of CPR for heart attack victims: study
VincentVL. replied to Richards's topic in The Bonfire
The human body has 8 to 10 minutes worth of oxygen in its veins. Therefor, it's more important to get that oxygen to the vital organs by pumping, than to give MtoM. Valuable time gets lost when people try to look for cloths to put over the victims mouth (when they have a blood/vomit/herpes on it) so this is why they are gonna change it to pumping. In my last CPR class a lot of people said they wouldn't do MtoM on a victim they did not know (if the victim had blood on their mouth.) -
This is regulating safety when the lives of other people are in danger. This is a good thing. It only becomes annoying when they want to regulate your personal safety. Examples (good ideas or not): seatbelts, softdrugs, etc.

Positive spokesman as in positive in the eyes of the public. I doubt your average grandmother is going to be charmed by his [/hyperhyper]THEONLYTHINGTHAT'SGONNASTOPMEFROMLUNGINGMYSELFOFFAPUBLICBUILDINGISQUADRAPLEGICAND DEATHHAHAHAHAHAHALOOKATMYFATSUITHEYISTHATSQUIRREL?[/hyperhyper] type of reactions on national TV. How do you get out of the canyon?

Damn...finally. All these "cut tha bitch loose holmes...bachelor for life YO " responses come from people who either haven't found the right woman yet, or really don't want to. It's really kind of early in the relationship, so any advice is probably presumptious. If she's the one, you should probably be able to solve this one by discussing the matter in a rational (women>

If you're jumping over solid ground, isn't it safer to reduce vertical speed by tracking hard? Also: If you go on a terminal tracking jump with slider down/off, will you/your canopy survive?

I used to think (internet) porn was ok, but when I see all the filth that I'm subjected to on the net without even trying, I can only support measures that keep children from seeing internetporn. Imo: parental control and informing kids > anything.

There are lots of words like that. You're always gonna insult someone. In my native language the direct translation of "faggot" is used pretty much as a synonym for the words "asshole", "idiot", "mother-fucker" etc. It's only remotely associated with it's original denotation of homosexual. I try to watch my mouth when I'm around sensitive people, but I'm not gonna stop using the word because of the one oversensitive homosexual who happens to overhear me. Same thing with negro. Wtf is wrong with the word "negro" or "black". They are negros. They are black. What they are not, is African Americans. You don't call someone a European American do you? No...you call him white or caucasian. NO SIR YOU CALL HIM BY HIS/HER NAME!!!! Yeah...I know...but you get the point. I'm not gonna say: Yo negro, pass the ketchup. It'll be: Yo Bubbah, pass the ketchup. But if I'm trying to describe Bubbah, he's gonna be the "fat negro who likes ketchup" because that describes him best. "Minorities" need to lighten up. Racists/bigots need to stfu. Simple as that.

Why is the fence ultralow? From the looks of it you can tumble over by tripping/being pushed. It's like they're encouraging people to jump it.
