  1. I saw something on the news and wanted to make sure. Not spread my "wisdom". If I did, forgiveness please. Edited: You have a point.
  2. I also figured someone would play it like that. I've had a shitty day (Murphy's law...it's real) so I don't want to test faith or your good lord even more. I'll just say that I've given this more thought than most people have. I would not have opened the debate if I hadn't. There's a difference between someone making a mistake and someone not giving a fuck about other people. Let them be loved ones or not. I'm afraid I'm capable of doing something stupid if someone did something reckless and hurt my loved ones, I'll give you that. Still I don't believe someone always has to pay. Accident =/= Negligence But like I said: bad day, don't want to ponder about these negative thoughts you've put in my head
  3. First of all, don't call me ignorant please. If anything is ignorant, it's statements like "me not jumping is more dangerous than me jumping ololol". If you want to go ahead and participate in a high risk activity with an unborn baby inside you, that's fine. Your body, your kid. It's probably going to be ok anyway. (as you said: it turned out great) Just be honest about it and say "I'm willing to expose my child to the same (probably even bigger) risks I'm exposing myself to". No he didn't. If he did, you should have found a different doctor long ago. Get a second opinion from a doctor. It's like the old "riding mah motorcycle while pregnant" discussion. If everything goes well, no problem. If Granpa McBlindeye wipes you off your socks at the reasonable speed of 30 miles an hour, baby might not come out like he should. But alright: I'm not a pregnant woman so I don't know these things. I wish I was a doctor so I could tell my friends how unhealthy smoking is.
  4. I figured as much. I don't care for that "someone has to pay for this" mentality. Unless there was a case of gross misconduct where the person who caused the accident showed he clearly didn't have any respect for human life by speeding excessively, drinking, driving in a reckless manner etc.
  5. This attitude: combined with: makes me not want operate a vehicle in the states. Why do you have insurance if you're gonna get jailed/sued to shit anyway? Does insurance pay for the suit? People screw up all the time in traffic. I do agree however, that you shouldn't intentionally break the law (like u-turn on freeway, drinking).
  6. Brilliant idea. Should already be the case. People have to be informed of the option to opt out of the donation though. This should happen more than once too. I think it's pretty selfish to opt out of donation, but if some religious type should want to they still can. When you have to request a donation card, lots of people will forget to request one. Which means less organs for the needy. I also strongly feel that this should be limited to use for transplant. And if you want to discuss the topic please don't turn it into a what-if sci-fi story where zombie orphens are bred for their organs in dark Gothic basements.
  7. I see. I don't approve of reckless driving btw.
  8. (No Sir officer I am not. I'm just wondering what the laws are. Seems like there's always a guilty party who has to get punished in the states. If I can go to jail for a few years for making one mistake I'd reconsider driving in the states. However this is not the issue. Please stick to info in OP)
  9. Can some American citizen enlighten me? Say I'm driving in my car and I get a brainfart and cause a deadly accident. Let's say I pull up to my driveway and oversee a biker who gets pancaked. Or I oversee a stopsign and run someone over. I'm not drunk, I'm not drugged, I wasn't speeding. Do I get sent to jail?
  10. Gary, What a coincidence to find your topic. I was about to post the same. Here is the email I sent the scammed person (basically what I have to say) Can we get an IP for these two guys ( christianoadams and carlosisley@yahoo.com)? I know it's naieve but you never know one of these idiots made a mistake and left a trace. Can we (meaning you guys...lol) not file a complaint against Western Union if only to get the financial info of these guys? They need to get their hands on the money some way or other? Can this be made a sticky and added to title: buying/selling on DZ.com??? 1500€ is a lot of money...
  11. Didn't a number of UK jumpers say pretty much the same thing about you just a few months ago because you threw yourself off an antenna under "less than ideal" sircumstances? I'm sure I picked something up...
  12. Once my future wife broke up with me (well...empty threat I guess) because I hate shopping for clothes, got annoyed at the mall and didn't buy anything. Other than that: * me being lazy * me being too fat * me being drunk * me "neglecting" her * me being grumpy * me being hyper * me looking "like a bum" * me...well...me basically. I really love her!!!
  13. Your Doc. grounds you because you are pregnant and you call it Whuffo bullshit. And what's with the ? You're carrying new life inside you and you're sulking over a canopy? LMAO...how much do you want this kid?
  14. Reasonably is the key word here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Huckabee seems like he's even more conservative than Bush.
  15. Jesus Christ I hope Huckabee isn't the one running for president. The world doesn't need another conservative American president. Although if the economy keeps going down the drain, my new rig paid for with euros is going to become awfully cheap Too bad the democrats have to choose between a woman, a black guy and a guy with little charisma. No offence or anything, but that's how some people see things. It would really suck to have another republican win the elections. Seeing how you elected someone as competent as Bush for a SECOND time...I can see Huckabee become the next president. I'd probably vote for Obama since I'm more of a sexist than I am a racist. Haha...homeboy wants to make a change. Yeah he'd get my vote alright.
  16. You could jump tandem gear. That would wipe away the gear-can't-handle-your-weight argument.
  17. [disclaimer]Hypothetically speaking. Trying to gather info from various sources. Will listen to the AFFI's.[disclaimer] Novice jumper has put in a few dozen jumps and is buying a first rig. Body weight is 160 pounds. (Exit weight around 180?) Which would you say is the best choice for jumps 150 - 200+? * Rig with pilot 168 main, downsizable to a 150 (when the time is ripe) * Rig with pilot 150 main, downsizable to a 140-130
  18. Thx. Sent you another one. Please get back to me.
  19. There are only two other AAD's that I know of. So which one are we talking about?
  20. I always say there's little you can do wrong by having a Westmalle Tripel. Duvel is a commercial beer and it drinks like one: lots of gas and very fresh. I like it but it doesn't have the body of some other strong beers. Kwak is nice. So is La Chouffe. Only recently did I get to taste the beer brewed using the champagne method: Malheur Brut. Also pretty good. Well there's so many decent beers here lol. Haven't tried the hype yet (Westvleteren).
  21. I was about to but there's no need to do so if an M2 - pilot 168 is a bad combo.
  22. I'm sorta shopping around for gear. I've found what seems to be a reasonable deal, but there are a lot of question marks. 1. It lists a pilot 170 but there is no such thing. 2. Assuming he means a 168, will the M2 hold a pilot 168. The mirage website says it won't. Says he bought it from a 6 foot golden knights guy. Anybody know a golden knights guy who recently sold a mirage with pilot 170 and pd reserve 143?
