Ticket schmicket. I don't even know what the FAA (floozy aviation agency) is. Learned how to pack a reserve (and pack your own) is what I meant. But nevermind...

This is what happens when you spend too much time in the internest... On a side note. I take it most of you don't have a rigger's ticket? Isn't it a valuable asset?

Alright. Makes sense.

If you can't afford to travel from Florida to the Perrine, you can't afford to BASE jump. I'm looking for a word that's not quite as dramatic as "resent". Until I find one, I'm afraid I have to say that I resent this statement. The man just asked for a FJC in Florida. If that shows anything, it's that he didn't do enough research. Seeing as he even offered to pay for instruction, I'm sure he doesn't mind coughing up some money for an FJC. So perhaps a better response would have been: "inform yourself, uninformed one". Furthermore...I know basejumping is expensive even before you might even consider making a jump. Still, who are you (we, anyone) to decide whether or not someone you don't even know) can afford basejumping? I don't like this "spendspendspend, don't think about it" attitude. Also, please inform my ignorant ass on a related matter. Why is the man being told: "Do an FJC first, then people may want to hang out with you." I was under the impression that one should find a mentor before the actual FJC, so you know you'll have one when you get back. Why this sudden change?

Just a few thoughts on the cheaper than jumping thing. Let's take the half an hour for 600€ deal, and assume that you get a minute out of a jump (yes...I know it's less etc.) 15€ a jump in Belgium, although that is most likely going to change because of a change in kerosine tax laws for non-profit oranisations thank you very much. 600/15 = 40 jump tickets as opposed to 30 minutes. Plus you don't get the views you usually get. So I'd have to conclude that tunneltime is mostly for relative teams who buy a lot of time at once. The average "up jumper", or whatever it's called in the us, will definitely get more out of a regular jump.

It's because Faber is common name in Flanders/Holland. You have Jan Faber (a flemish artist) and Peter Faber (A Dutch actor and lots of unknown Fabers. Edited to add: So now you know some more useless info

Sooooo 1. What's so insanely stupid about this? 2. And can someone please explain what the fook I'm looking at? It just looks like a ball of humans... 3. Also: did the premature have anything to do with 1. or 2.? Thx!

Do these tunnels (or this one particularly) ever have sales? As in 30% last minute discount etc. Or is the cost of operating it (electricity) too high to give out cheap minutes that are unspoken for?

Being told NOT to check the spot!

I see stupid people. They don't know they're stupid. They don't see each other. They only see what they want to see. Yes. -
Yeah. So I've been meaning to say something and you're input makes for a great opportunity to finally do so (makes sense?) If you're racing to the top on that particular A in the picture, and you miss your step because you don't have 3 supports (two arms/one feet etc.) you're done with. Even if you do have 3 supports, you might grab onto some birdshit (or God's spit if him and the misses aren' getting their groove on) and slip. Stating the obvious in four words: seems kind of dangerous.

Now that you mention it...so did I. When I was 6 days old, one of the handles of the baby carrier slipped out of my father's hand and I ended up bouncing and rolling throuh the snow. Six years later I cracked my skull when I was riding my bike (without training wheels, yo) in the street. Perhaps there is some kind of link between baby stunt behavior, brain damage and fascination with low altitude parachuting?

Annoying story. Also reminds me of that story where someone posted about fessin' up to a couple of rangers (they were really kind and fair to me &c.) and getting screwed in the process. These guys are self-righteous and play a dirty game.

People should get over themselves already.

Should there be a televised Christmas excecution of Saddam?
VincentVL. replied to vortexring's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes. Make your children watch it and have them believe this is what christmas is all about. No presents, no singing, no dinner. -

Are you coming off your high horse? Hope that doesn't get me B& Faber, I was just asking since I have seen people go stowed from 60 meter. But I guess that last 10 meter makes a world of difference. Thx.

Oh. Normally movies hit the US first. Anyway...don't say I didn't warn you about this one.

Making friends toinight arent we? If you're a shallow youknowwhat...you won't like it. That doesn't mean that everyone who doesn't like it, is in fact a shallow whatchamacallit. Now go and see it, before it's too late.
-
If you are reading this, and you're not a shallow c**t, go and see Pan's Labyrinth. I can't remember he last time I was this impressed and moved by a movie. I seriously wanted to start a thread about it, but then I saw this. Go. Preferably now. Also seen: The wind that shakes the barley: Good movie. Babel: Piece-of-shit.
