I say do the misconceptions thing combined with why people do it. When people find out I skydive they always ask dumb ass questions like "what does it feel to look at earth from 30,000 feet? Can I do a tandem with you as my instructor? Does the chute ever just not open? In retrospect I know the malfunction was merely a pilot chute hesitation and was solved when I tweaked my body position when I reached behind my back to clear the Problem, which I now know was not the brightest idea. At jump 15 I didnt know how to articulate what happened and subsequently gave a poor description of the events and made myself look a true dummy in this thread. I did at that point know how to clear a PC hesitation from a lesson in my AFF but didnt use that technique because it was my first jump on a throwout and I thought I didnt deploy the PC correctly when nothing happened after I pulled. I then reached back to the BOC thus altering, my body position and spilling air on to my back causing the PC to catch the airstream which then initiated the deployment sequence. 2 BITS....4 BITS....6 BITS....A DOLLAR!....ALL FOR THE GATORS....STAND UP AND HOLLER!!!!

I do think the Gators will fare well. Do I think the Gators are going to win?....probably not but I think if we play our best ball then I think the Gators have a better shot than anyone else at upsetting the Buckeyes. In my opinion it is similar to the situation in last years Title Game where Texas was a heavy underdog against USC who had a Heisman player and a great all around team as well. I had a philosophy teacher in high school who was the best teacher i ever had. He would skip class more than his students and give radically inflated grades to everyone that bought the book he wrote. One thing he absolutely fucking hated was when people, particualrly his superiors, would say shit like "try and think outside of the box". He said anyone thats says stupid shit like "try and think outside of the box" are so far in the box that they dont know what the outside even looks like. A few of his students wrote that line in essays for his classes in an effort to describe philosophers as people "who think outside of the box"! He went off on those kids screaming shit like "get the fuck out of this class you fucking moron" while banging a stick. It was awesome particularly when he said it to some quiet shy teenage girl or some big ass football player who thought he was hot shit. You just described my exact situation. Im a college student thats gonna get a Vector II, with a Raider 220(f111) main and a Rascal 202 Reserve. All perfectly safe gear thats just a little old, nothing wrong with that. Im gonna drop a new cypres in it (its cypres ready) because I feel its a long term investment plus my mom is gonna pay for half of it (i love going home for Christmas Im getting this deal from an instructor whom has taken good care of it and whom I know wouldnt sell me bad gear. The container, main, reserve will cost me only 600 bucks. and you all know the Cypres cost so thats about 1900 bucks for a complete airworthy first rig. I asked my instructor about this once and he said its ok for the ride to altitude but when it comes to freefall its probably not a good idea. The funny thing for me is that I have loved that movie for years before I started skydiving. Its such a cheesy but awesome movie and me and my brother have been watching it since I was about 8. My favorite part is when Ronald Reagan (swayze) is at that gas pump and he usues it as a flamethrower. How is the SEC overrated? 5 Sec Teams are in the top 25 and 3 are in the top 10... Just because The SEC champions are the best team of the SEC and the SEC is the hardest conference in the NCAA doesnt make the SEC champions the best in the nation. There can always be better teams out there that play in easier conferences, and thats why we dont always win National Titles. Never will you find any me or any other gators I know saying the Gators are the best in the Nation, clearly that is Ohio State and everyone knows it from the domination that have shown this year and their talent level. HOWEVER! If by general public you mean Michigan fans who were at home voting as soon as the polls came out online since they werent watching their team play for a conference championship and celebrating right after then yeah your right I guess we should have listened to the "General Public" who clearly supported Michigan by an astounding FOUR perecent! If the coaches handed it to us then why did we win the AP and Harris polls which have former players, former coaches and the media as their core sample? The fact is the GATORS have played the toughest schedule in the nation and were rewarded by players and coaches alike and not MICHIGAN whom were cast as number 3 in every respected poll in America. Like I said try winning your conference title before you start saying you deserve national titles. I said we played in the toughest conference I didnt say we were the best team in the Nation, clearly Ohio State will not be an easy victory for anyone. I was stressing the fact that most fans, coaches and players believe that the Gators should be in the titile game and not Michigan, and that are strength of schedule makes us clearly more deserving then Michigan. If escaping games with a W means that the Gators play every game till the clock runs out as a cohesive unit that overcomes every team they have faced except 1 (see rant on Auburn above) through tremendous adversity (which at many times was self inflicted) then I take that as a compliment. What matters is that we won against the hardest collective schedule in the nation.
