  1. I'm thinking the drink should come FIRST. TPM Sister #102
  2. What do you want to do tonight, Brain? TPM Sister #102
  3. I've been walking around with that look of terror ever since Tuesday, when I agreed to this wonderful/horrible plan! TPM Sister #102
  4. Shhhh! Then let's not tell them I'm on student status! (Is there anything sort of . . . PRE-student? Or maybe a class for the remedial students? I could tell them the full face is for my own protection. . . . That's TOTALLY believable.) TPM Sister #102
  5. Yeah. . . . I keep replaying my latest skydiving song (ironically, entitled "Dive"), which says: My heart is racing and my knees are weak As I walk to the edge I know there is no turning back Once my feet have left the ledge And in the rush I hear a voice Thats telling me its time to take the leap of faith So here I go Im diving in Im going deep in over my head I want to be Caught in the rush lost in the flow in over my head I want to go The river's deep the river's wide the river's water is alive So sink or swim I'm diving in. . . . Okay, so it's about diving into water. Same concept. Time to take the leap of faith. The problem is, I'm increasingly of the opinion that taking this kind of leap of faith and insanity are not that far apart from each other. TPM Sister #102
  6. ARRGGGHHHHH!!! Good luck! I want to hear about it when it happens. TPM Sister #102
  7. Note to self: Take dental floss. Then immediately buy a full-face. TPM Sister #102
  8. For just how long, exactly? TPM Sister #102
  9. You need to read the Womens forum The Gossip Gurus have been talking about for days You are going to have a STELLAR time FOR DAYS?! I thought I was keeping track. . . . Curses. I really, really hope you're right. TPM Sister #102
  10. Ah, c'mon, that's the first chance I've had to blame him for anything. TPM Sister #102
  11. HEY--WAIT--HOW DO *YOU* EVEN KNOW THAT I OVERDOSE ON TUNNEL TIME?! I knew I was . . . okay . . . slightly obsessed . . . but I didn't know that I had become notorious in the meantime. I am looking forward to the freefall portion of the jump. That's the part I feel I know something about. Now if I can just relax enough to find my arch. (Breathe.) And--YEAH!!--Vonnie's gonna be there for the whole thing!!! I can't believe you outed me, cocheese. Well, really, I suppose I should be blaming YOU, Squeak!!! TPM Sister #102
  12. I have one tandem and am trying to work up to my AFF Level 1 jump (maybe tomorrow--eek!), but in any event, you can jolly well bet that I'm counting that first tandem as a jump because it was hard work getting me out that door. I had the TI make an entry in my log book for it and it will count towards an A license, so yeah, I say COUNT THE TANDEM! TPM Sister #102
  13. Those prairie dog holes are responsible for more than one broken bone--ouch! Just ask squarecanopy about that. TPM Sister #102
  14. That is a disturbing mental image. hey. Andy's threads almost always include the word "disturbing." TPM Sister #102
  15. CONGRATULATIONS! Say hi to Vicki for us. She left earlier this week and has been instructed to come back with details and first-hand information. Sounds like a great tunnel. TPM Sister #102
  16. Exactly. I know my jump numbers don't make me an expert but I do know that asphyxiated frozen popsicle people are not dropping from the sky up at the dz (at least not on a regular basis). I don't lie to anyone but I stopped initiating conversations about it after that. TPM Sister #102
  17. obviously it isn't. It does. The point is that he could not understand the AGL distinction. By his reasoning, no one in Colorado would ever be able to do anything but hop-n-pops. (We have that little "Mile High" thing going here.) HIS understanding was that "require" oxygen meant that you could not physically breathe; not whether you are supposed to have oxygen or how long you can sit in the plane before it becomes a problem that you don't have it or so forth. That was the same day they started talking about whether to take out insurance on me. TPM Sister #102
  18. I'm working on my "yes." I am checking Webster's to see if I know that word and it depends on the day and the moment. TPM Sister #102
  19. Any news yet? How did it go? I keep telling myself that no matter what the dz requires, and even if they have to pull FOR me, I will have passed my own personal Level 1 if I just get out the door. Okay, so that won't keep me from having to repeat the level if I can't pull for myself, but still--that's my biggest challenge right now (to be immediately followed by the challenge of canopy control, setting up a landing pattern, flaring--you know, all the "little" stuff! ). TPM Sister #102
  20. Oh, glory. That poor receptionist gets the worst from all sides!! TPM Sister #102
  21. That's why getting someone into the loop locally is important. States DO approach things differently, and getting local counsel is the best way to get a realistic view of how it works in your jurisdiction. TPM Sister #102
  22. You know, it's just costing you more the more you argue with me about this. TPM Sister #102
  23. What was it that Sartre posted the other day? Trust? Hey, I gave you full disclosure. TPM Sister #102
