LOL--I know how you feel!

I voted for Penn Station because we don't have one here. What do they serve (besides awesome lemonade, that is)? TPM Sister #102

SWEET! I'm so glad to hear that! Now go take a picture of the red little hotrod so we can all see it! Edited to add: Do you need vibes and hugs? 'Cause I'm here for ya! TPM Sister #102

Good to know! I'll have to check back in pretty soon to see the new-and-improved site.

Yep; that's what I'm thinking of. NICE! And I like getting to review the mals that way, because even though I "know" them, it's good to go through. TPM Sister #102

I liked Elsinore's website, too, because I like their online AFF materials. That's actually helpful. TPM Sister #102

Does tandem count as a "1" under number of jumps?
Jewels replied to the_sea's topic in Introductions and Greets
QuoteGood luck getting that next jump in Jewels. It becomes increasingly more difficult to double the jump numbers from here on. LOL Reading your post brings fond memories of when I took up the sport nearly 5 years ago. Never regretted it and damn has it ever been an incredible, adventure filled 5 years. Come jump with us in Utah when you're ready. And yes, count the first tandem for sure. Quote Doing what I can! Oh, and by the way, congrats on the new tunnel. Don't know whether you're close to it or not, but at least you have one in-state now! Oh, and btw, get your TI to make a log book entry for you. TPM Sister #102 -
. . . and give yourself TIME! If it's a recent break-up, you need recovery time before launching into the dating world again. It's not fair to you or the new person you might be dating to dive into a big relationship right on the heels of your divorce. That's a good way to end up feeling very confused (not to mention angry, depressed, resentful, and a whole host of other negative emotions). TPM Sister #102

I've been over the exit and for me, it's just that your exit looked nice and floaty and stable as opposed to crashing, tumbling and searching for an arch. I'll take one of those nice, pretty ones, please! TPM Sister #102

Tried to! We had our 10 minute call and I had on my rig when they called a weather delay. Wind, rain, thunder, lightening. . . . So, I'm still waiting to double my jump numbers. TPM Sister #102 -
That is a wonderful way to say something so difficult. The only thing that I would change is that without having heard the words.... I can can only hope that he loved me... I can't imagine there's any way that he wouldn't have loved you. WE all know enough to know that! I've been trying a long time to be able to find the good things about my dad. I have a long way to go, but I'm working on it. TPM Sister #102

Thanks for posting that. Your exit on Level 1 looks . . . do-able. (See my jump numbers--my "1" is a tandem.) TPM Sister #102

Well, I did say I wouldn't go without you. TPM Sister #102

Yep, that's us: two cute babes ~20 years old . . . . Okay, so it's just Sartre and I'm only wishing. But it's too bad to have missed that! That had to be a wild load! TPM Sister #102

Note to self: Turn helmet cam the other direction next time. TPM Sister #102

Believe me, it would be surprising! TPM Sister #102

YEA! Congratulations to both of you! I know you'll soar. Have a great first day!

Depends upon whether he tried behind that locked door where all the brooms are. TPM Sister #102

Well...gee...if I was only allowed into the places where I was worthy, I'd never have any fun! Well, you know, he's local. . . . TPM Sister #102

I wasn't close to my dad before he died but I think it's important to honor him even though it's much easier to come up with a long list of grievances. So, here goes: He loved me and my mother; he may not have known *how* to be all that I wanted him to be, but he tried hard even if his method wasn't *my* method; and he never discouraged the things I wanted and he wanted to see me achieve them. Blindfolds are good. I told you I don't want to see what's out there. "Skittish" is the perfect word. If you're trying to be polite about it, that is. TPM Sister #102

That was the best part of the non-jump! Whatever they put in that thing could power the space shuttle. Not sure yet on the reschedule, Squeak. Vonnie might have the right idea about getting me on sedatives first. . . . TPM Sister #102

OH, THE SHAME!!!! No jump--but not for the lack of effort. Sartre and I got there at about 10:15 or 10:30 and they put together a load for us at manifest, but it was load 14, which meant that we had some time. Okay, a LOT of time. We waited, along with all of the other fabulous people around here who have been nothing but patient and supportive about this jump. I did the AFF refresher stuff and practiced the incredibly complicated Level 1 dive flow. Finally, about 2:30 or so, they called our load and I got on all the gear, right down to the rig. They gave the 10-minute call and I was sweating bullets but still standing, so I figured I might have been capable of making the jump. Then, in almost the same breath that they gave the ten-minute call, they called a weather delay. I have no idea where the clouds and rain came from. It was in the 90s and sunny all day long and if you looked out of the hangar to the east, it was STILL perfectly sunny and beautiful. A storm had come in over the mountains, though. So, all the gear came off and we waited . . . and waited . . . . I checked with the instructor who was doing this jump with me, and he was still willing to wait it out a bit but also had to leave for work at another job by 4:30. It was clearing but they still hadn't taken the next load at 4:00, so I called it a day. At that point, they could've called a load for the next three minutes and I don't think I could've made it. I had been on high anxiety mode all day long and came crashing down when they called the weather delay. I have to try this again but the biggest thing is that I have to thank everybody who was there to encourage me and who waited around in case our load ever got to go. And the BIGGER thanks go to Sartre, who hauled my pathetic rear end up there and waited ALL DAY for a jump that still hasn't happened. I don't take it for granted and I probably owe a lot more than BEER. (Oh, and given that this is the second time that I've been willing to jump and the weather refused to cooperate, I have also promised to stay away from the dz on any important jumping days since I apparently bring rain wherever I go.)
