They're playing Russia, right? TPM Sister #102

Hmmm, maybe that underground facility is where all the lost luggage goes. Maybe that's even where the missing socks in the dryer end up. Where's Geraldo? Maybe he can go open the vault to see what's inside. TPM Sister #102

The snow myth is kind of on order with the people who fly into DIA wearing all their Western apparel because they expect horses and a saloon on every corner. As between the two, I'd rather perpetuate the snow myth! We usually like to spread the snowfall around a little bit more. But, yeah, being a mile high means you have to expect some of this stuff once in a while. TPM Sister #102

Well, yes--after all, you are SO likely to blow off the day and let the company fall apart right under their noses. TPM Sister #102

5" of new snow in my subdivision this morning, on top of the not-yet plowed remainder of the last two storms. Got stuck three times just trying to get out to the main road, which was icy. An hour and twenty minutes later, I made it to the office. *Sigh.* It's fun if you can play in it; not so much if you have to work instead. TPM Sister #102

I suppose I could claim to have done the same thing with very different results, just to keep the intensity up . . . but, of course, none of that would be true. It's the old "I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong" problem. TPM Sister #102

LOL! I think you and I are going to have to work harder. (The hygienist was funny, though. She asked all sorts of questions that made me believe she knew what I was talking about, and then she said, "what's a wind tunnel?" Now she knows!) TPM Sister #102

I told my dental hygienist about the tunnel just this morning. Does that count? TPM Sister #102

I am really sorry that the only remaining answer seems to be that he needs to be put to sleep and I REALLY wish there were other options. That said, I don't know the dog, what your parents have tried, or anything else about the matter so I'm not going to weigh in on the debate. What I do know is that I feel really badly for YOU. That's so tough to know that it's ending (especially this way). It has to hurt and I'm so sorry that you're having to go through this. Putting an animal down would always be a difficult decision for me to have to make, and I can only imagine how much harder it would be to make if it wasn't driven by a medical condition. So, for what it's worth, you have my sympathy. Hang in there! TPM Sister #102

He was a cornerback, but yes, he was killed. They found the re-painted SUV that was used that night so maybe that will open up some new leads. TPM Sister #102

If it turns out to be cancer, I hope you have a good feline oncologist nearby. But more than that, I hope you don't actually need one! TPM Sister #102

I swear, if f*#king winter decides to show up in April or May I'll.....
Jewels replied to Muenkel's topic in The Bonfire
You guys are welcome to a little bit of OUR winter! After our two blizzards in the space of a week, they say we're getting more snow (only 3-6 inches this time) tomorrow. I love Colorado and so it's not a serious complaint--but Florida sounds pretty okay right about now! Just so there's no more shoveling for a while. . . . TPM Sister #102 -
I got mine before the Pink Plate became available, but I think that's great! I can just see your wicked little car, all dressed up with pink on its backside. I knew you had attitude. TPM Sister #102

Six Feet Under is a restaurant in Atlanta (located across from Oakland Cemetary--hence, the name) that makes a GREAT salmon with barbeque sauce. It's not your traditional BBQ flavor but it is fantastic. Now I'm hungry and much too far away for dinner. TPM Sister #102

I did look at various websites but that's just marketing. Instead, I asked about upcoming opportunities in this forum, and asked who and what was "worth it" to travel for. I figured this was about the best, most experienced cross-section of people to ask on the subject. I got answers from various tunnels around the globe even though it was an open-ended question for anyone. I really appreciate the instructors who weighed in to let me know what was going on and what they had to offer. It might interest you to know that the one consistent answer I got was just to use the money on coached time with someone right here at home. What would get me to give my business to a tunnel? An (affordable) event, or something structured that makes it sound like there is a plan--the answer to "what next" in the tunnel--would do it. Coached time would be great, but I would mostly appreciate having some targeted direction. I have plenty to work on, but it needs to be mixed up a little and it would help if there was some variety to what I'm doing, but I don't exactly know how to create that variety for myself. Combine that with the "staff" answer, and that's where I fit in. (I'll shut up. You know more than enough about my opinions, anyway!) TPM Sister #102

Location is a big factor. I go to SVCO because there aren't any others that I can get to at least once a week, so on a regular basis, there is no choice to make. BUT, if I had another tunnel to choose from in the area, it would be about price and instructors first, and other factors (e.g., size) later. On the other hand, I'm going to Eloy this month primarily because of Paige and the TPM, but also because of the DZ. Not long ago, I was looking for tunnel camps because I wanted to go somewhere with something different to do. It's good to have some variety. Oh, and I look for a tunnel where I won't die if the power is suddenly and inexplicably cut off. TPM Sister #102

I can see that I need a lot more vacation time . . . and a lot more money!!! Thanks for the good information. I really appreciate knowing about this. Hmmmmm . . . SVCO in January and Holland in the spring. I wonder how much blood I can sell between now and then! TPM Sister #102

Who, me? TPM Sister #102

I hope it's filled with good friends and good times, and that you actually make it out of work and through the snow so you can enjoy it. You look GREAT for 29! TPM Sister #102

AMEN! Yeah, it's completely miserable. All winter, all the time. We just had RAIN, the temp is precariously close to freezing, and now the snow is starting to look serious. Yep, don't wanna move here! TPM Sister #102

Derek needs to pick you up on his way out. I don't care WHAT they say, it's unreasonable for you to have to spend the night so someone will be there tomorrow. But I'm glad Sherpa is taken care of. TPM Sister #102

Ohhh--good luck! I hear it has already started snowing down in the Larkspur area. TPM Sister #102

You have SERIOUSLY got to be kidding. These people have lost all sense of perspective. You have to get out of there. TPM Sister #102

Maybe you should go out to the airport and try to get onto another flight there at the counter. I think the phones are a lost cause. TPM Sister #102

That's exactly what he's doing (kind of). He has to get back to Breckenridge where his car was left at a friend's place and will be driving to Atlanta. He had already driven from Portland to Breckenridge, so the return from Atlanta to Portland will be a long one, but it's better than sitting in the airport for the next 4 or 5 days waiting for a flight. They could have confirmed him on 12/26, but if he confirmed on that flight he wouldn't be eligible for stand-by again until that day, and he would lose the option of a full refund. Hopefully his little old Saturn with 216,000 miles on it will make it! Good luck! I still think that's a better option than waiting for stand-by to work out. TPM Sister #102
