That, and we have coyotes. TPM Sister #102

Sometimes you can sell the idea if they are trying to perk up the area and you want to give an old project new life. Might be hard to get them to preserve the existing use if a replacement building is already in the works--but it could make a great space for ancillary businesses. TPM Sister #102

How far from your hometown do you currently live?
Jewels replied to seejanefall's topic in The Bonfire
QuoteWell, I could've moved to Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, or Idaho for the nearest bar..... but if I moved to Wyoming I'd probably be toothless and have 10 kids - guess that also applies to Idaho, and Colorado... HEY! That only applies to Colorado if you're in Pueblo, I believe. At least in the Denver metro area, you are safe! TPM Sister #102 -
I had no idea there was a mini castle! I was thinking of the Chick-fil-A restaurant, actually, but I like the castle better. TPM Sister #102

You know, I just noticed the "Login" in the upper right-hand corner. I don't know if I would have seen it unless I was specifically examining the site. Maybe you could make that pop a little more. But, on the whole, I think it looks good. Maybe you should check out the websites for some other accountants and see what other accounting firms are doing if you haven't done that already. You can "borrow" some good ideas just by browsing. TPM Sister #102

Marietta! Which little town gets to claim the Dwarf House? (BTW, I'm not trying to be un-PC. It wasn't MY idea to name it that!) TPM Sister #102

That's the problem--the heaters WERE on! But, in fairness, it had rained that day with highs in the low 50s, it was after dark by then, and we were sharing an hour of tunnel time (LOTS of minutes), so I didn't exactly pick the most user-friendly time to get in. Just watch--next time, I'll manage to get there during a heat wave! (Murphy's Law.) Can accounting be done in the wind tunnel? That would make it more interesting. TPM Sister #102

I hear you! It's really hard to see favorite buildings go, but sometimes it's just not possible to find that extra "something special" that makes it worth keeping them around. You have to have a very special vision for it. TPM Sister #102

No kidding!! That tunnel is huge. Next time, though, I think I'll aim for nice, comfy weather. I FROZE, sitting there on the bench! Good thing I had gloves. TPM Sister #102

I think it looks pretty good for a CPA! What about focusing more on the tax preparation stuff? It's that time of year when the CPAs start really gearing up with that. I saw "tax" issues under the menu, but I'll bet a lot of hits over the next few months are going to be people who are looking specifically for that sort of thing. (BTW, it was great to meet you in Eloy!) TPM Sister #102

Oh, yeah, GREAT! That will definitely be a first for the Incidents Forum. TPM Sister #102

Oh, yeah!! I guess they're world-famous now, huh? TPM Sister #102

I know where you're coming from--but don't sell the "roof and doors" notion short. Historic interest groups might jump all over it and it doesn't have to be Frank Lloyd Wright. There's "old and dilapidated" and then there's "old and dilapidated, but unique and a little slice of history." But if this hangar is just in the "old and dilapidated" category, well, good luck! TPM Sister #102
-
You might look into whether it has any historic significance--either just by age or by any unique architecture/structural design. The right investor or right historic interest group might be able to step up and renovate it in a way that would maintain its character. This is an issue for consideration here in Denver because of facilities left behind from the old Stapleton International Airport. It's worth checking into, anyway! TPM Sister #102

I thought it was a nose-to-nose kind of encounter. Being eight feet away is still closer than I'd like to get, but it is a whole lot better than being close enough for introductions. Anyway, I don't think there was anything amorous going on. They didn't see me until I turned on the light and they just appeared to be yelping up into the sky. But then, if that's part of the ritual, who knows? TPM Sister #102

LOL! I never knew pigs could be that vocal. So much for Charlotte's Web. TPM Sister #102

I live in Australia we dont have mountain lions, or any lions for that matter

Hmmm, I've heard that mountain lions have quite a yowl, but I've never actually heard it. Is that it? TPM Sister #102

Back-flying would be so much easier without the burble from this tail. TPM Sister #102

Ooohhhh, no thanks. No coyotes on the other side of an open window for me! I don't want to know enough first-hand information about the habits of coyotes to know whether or not that situation was about to turn ugly. Ignorance is bliss. . . . TPM Sister #102

Yeah, it was a first for ME, that's for sure! I live just south of you, down in Littleton, but I'm close enough to the Hogback (first ridge of the foothills, for non-Coloradans) that we get a lot of wildlife from there. TPM Sister #102
