  1. By far the best picture of me. A timer shot taken by balancing my digital camera on a pile of books.
  2. It takes me longer to find a parking space, walk to security, stand in line for the metal detector, and walk to my station than it does to drive to work.

    Yes! Yes! Yes!

The rain that threatened to ruin my Memorial Day jumping plans has disappeared from the forecast! So now I just need to decide, Hinckley or Sky Knights (or maybe one on Sunday and one on Monday).
  4. That's the famous Konami code. It appeared in many Konami games over the years.
  5. Pumpkin pie. With whipped cream. Oh yeah.
  6. Makes sense to me. A no flare, downwind landing under a 126 (which I would load at 1.5ish) I might live. Hitting the ground at 120 mph, I won't live. Might is better than won't, IMHO. Plus, most Cypres saves happen to people who are fully conscious.

    Weekend Numbers

2:3:0 2 days at work (Saturday and Sunday). Snuck out early on Friday and made it up to Sky Knights. Met ladyskydiver and chopchop. One 6 point 3-way, which I don't think is too bad considering I was wearing my freefly suit and kept floating out. A fun 4-way, only a couple of points, more floatiness. Finished it off with a wicked cool 3-way tube at sunset. I couldn't believe how fast that thing got moving.
  8. I really want a pair of these, but $50 seems a little steep for a pair of Chucks. Anybody know a good place to get shoes online?
  9. I've got solid state gyroscopes. I have a hazer. I must have an iron will for making it four seasons in this hellhole.
  10. Just saw on TV: "Witness tonight's lunar eclipse live without leaving the comfort of your home." Are people too lazy to even walk outside and look up anymore?
  11. I despise you in the nicest way possible.
  12. Mapquest claims that I can go from my house to Sky Knights in an hour and 15. That sounds about right.
  13. 46% of Iraqi exports went to what country? Oh, right, that was the United States.
  14. No kidding. I saw a student cut away from a mal where the spring loaded PC came over the nose and wrapped around the slider.
  15. There is (or was) a rather small one in the vicinity of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Mostly smaller military aircraft, with some tanks and jeeps and stuff. It's been years since I've been there, but I seem to recall that for a couple of bucks anybody could just go in and wander around the place. I thought it was really cool when I was 13.
  16. I've only done 5 this year (three last weekend), so I don't have a whole lot to pick from. Probably my first of the year was the most interesting. High winds, should have scratched from the load, got on anyway. Landed out, ate it hard in a field. All of the other jumps have been fun but free of drama.
  17. 90% of the spam that gets through my other filters comes from Yahoo, so anything sent from Yahoo goes into it's own special folder and I review it when I have time. I know it'll probably get a false positive one of these days, but it catches upwards of 50 spams a day.
  18. How the hell have I not managed to reply to this thread in the last two years? Anyway, my name is Brian and I'm an assistant manager at a company that reorganizes a lot. It's getting irritating.
  19. sfc got it. Big thanks, man. I'm going to eat my humble pie now.
  20. The workspace is 500k, so I can't post it. I'll PM a URL to anybody who wants it, though.
  21. I know, I know. Don't use Visual C++. But anyway, I have this assignment. It's basically freeform, so I'm doing a really lame (read: not useable in real life, but the instructor won't know that) logbook program. Anyway, it was compiling fine, now I'm getting a C2061 error from VC6 at a method declaration. The full text is: "error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'CJump'" and the line of code is: 'void InsertAt(int nIdx, CJump *jumpIns);' I'm at my wits end here. I can't find any problems with my code (other than it's a rush job and needs better comments). It's probably something stupid that just needs a fresh set of eyes to spot. I can PM somebody the workspace as an attachment if they want to take a shot at it.
  22. I got this today: I live down the road from Libertyville, and I have in fact been to the new Sports Complex. I was not disappointed. The weird thing is, I never discussed my trip to the sports complex with anybody, in person or online, nor have I ever expressed any sort of desire to visit a sports complex of any type. Also, the complex is run by the city, so I don't think they would be spamming people (especially weird short spam).
  23. I also have astigmatism, and a moderate prescription. I'm confident that I could walk away from a landing without my glasses, I don't want to try it. Same thing with driving. I could probably get to work without my glasses, but I'm not particularly interested in doing it for real.
