I loved the Hop N Pop, I would have to say, the hardest part of it was having to "do" the door for the first time, short of that, it was a nice soft opening, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!! Greg A-37958

DENVER (AP) - A dust storm that started in Mongolia and picked up industrial pollution from China has spread a haze across a quarter of the mainland United States, experts said Tuesday. The whitish haze has been seen from Calgary, Alberta, to Arizona to Aspen, where weekend levels of particulate - matter that reduces visibility and can cause respiratory problems - quadrupled from the previous weekend. Gene Feldman, an oceanographer from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in genbelt, Md., said aircraft have been monitoring matter in the dust clouds. ``At one time, this dust cloud was bigger than Japan,'' he said. Russ Schnell, director of observatory operations for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in Boulder, said the cloud will reach the East Coast, but should dissipate in the next several days. In late 1998, scientists claimed to have documented the spread of industrial pollution from China to the United States, where it caused pollution levels as high as two-thirds of federal health limits. ``This storm is a godsend to pollution researchers,'' Schnell said. ``People are finally realizing that what have been saying for years is true. Pollution from Asia is being carried across the oceans.'' The two experts said it was unusual for such matter to be so visible to the naked eye. In Aspen, particulate levels measured 58 millionths of a gram per cubic meter of air, compared with 14 millionths of a gram a week earlier. ``We had the same kind of haze when Mount St. Helen's erupted but the particulate didn't come down to the ground level as much,'' said Lee Cassin, director of Aspen's environmental health department.

When I got my new (used) rig, the boc was a little loose and I had it replaced before I jumped it. IMHO, better safe than sorry!! Greg A-37958

I have only washed mine once, shortly after I got it. But Im sure, this summer I will prolly wash it a few times, when the pitts bother me (or others to the point of speaking up). I guess a good rule of thumb, "if you can smell it in freefall, wash it!!" Blue ones!! Greg A-37958

Yeah......its a little hot...and.....yeah.....we....ummm....get a few dust devils.....but, I wouldnt let that scare you away!! Skydive AZ is, IMHO, firts rate, but I agree with others, it is sometimes unbearably hot, especially in July, but that just makes the exits that much better, getting into the cool air, if you have door demons, this is a good way to kill them!! And what better way to improve your canopy skills than by avoiding dust devils!! J/K In all actuallity, these are some good things to keep in mind, and it would be wise to give these things due consideration, but I would not avoid it soley for these reasons. Good luck on your search, and I hope to see ya in Eloy!! Greg A-37958

Hey Brandon, I was watching it at the dz on Saturday, and to be quite honest, I was far too impressed by the video (and prolly buzzed on the beer and shots) to find out what the name of the video was, sorry. I will try to find out and let you know. Greg A-37958

Hello Sangiro, I think this may be a problem, nothing major, just a bug or something. I wanted to go ahead and sign the guest book, heck Im here enough, but I noticed when I signed off and re-read my message, that the date that I signed the guest book was 04/13/101. I would think it should be 04/13/01 Blue ones!! Greg A-37958

Hey Stacy, sorry to hear about the choking. Some day you will look back and laugh!! I can almost relate, on my AFF graduation dive, I landed in the nice grassy alternate landing area for the first time, and the S&TA drove up on his golf cart, I thought I was going to get in trouble for landing on the grass instead of the "desert" student landing area. Well he was looking for someone else (whew!!) but acted as a perfect decoy to occupy my attention for a bit, just then, I turn around and see a few friends and my brother standing around me, and then it happened, SMACK, a face full, of all things, HOT GARLIC MASHED TATERS!! Apparently, they were out of freakin cake!! It really kinda pissed me off, I was a mess and smelled like a "side dish" for the rest of the day, not to mention mashed taters in my helmet, and altimeter but, looking back, its pretty funny now!! Blue ones!! Greg A-37958

Did you have any problems with it (your pro dytter) falling out? (That question could be mis interpereted so easily!!) Greg A-37958
-
Cool!! Thanks again. Boy your Pro Tec (and soon mine too) must look pretty cool with all of the tape. I really dont care too much what my helmet looks like, so long as I hear the alarms!! I had actually, for a quick second, thought about blowing off the alarms and just mounting it to my leg, like they talk about in the manual, but Im glad I wont have to!! Greg A-37958

Hey Skreamer, great point, if they can get past my poor preformance at the beginning of the dive and see the deployment while not laughing too hard, that just may work!!! Hello Wingnut, yeah, I have a few copies of the video already, My camera friend happily made me my own copy to take home (so I would stop buggin him, I think lol) and watch. Im already wearing it out with the "hey, thats me!!, rewind that!!, wait!!, slo mo that!!, hey rewind that once more!!, hey wait!!, I just saw me again!!, woah did you see that!!, no well you better rewind it!!" And this only happened yesterday!! Its a pretty long wait until next weekend!! I cant wait to see the stills!!! I can see it now, poster size pictures of meeeee, skydiving, all over the house!!!!! Wooo Hoooo!! I think skreamer nailed it, camera slut!! Boy reality can be tough!! Blue ones!! Greg A-37958 P.S. Havnt felt like it has been appropriate, but Ill let it "fly" now. I have much respect to you and the other military service men and women here, and my hats off to ya!! Although I my self did not serve, just about everyone else in my family has, not wanting to get mushy or anything, just felt I needed to pay some sort of respects and props to you!! *salute*

I have only used a Hackey or the little piece of PVC pipe, I like the Hackey much better. As mentioned, it is a little bidgger and softer, which to me, makes it a bit easier to find and grab, especially with gloves on (the tacky gloves work real good!!) even with an occasional "loose grab" every now and then. Greg A-37958

Hey, Thanks Zennie!!!

WOW!!! What an action packed weekend, when does the movie come out. Congrats!! Greg A-37958

Hello all, I just picked up a brand new Pro Track (its really cool and gives great information about the jumps, avg/max speed, exit altitude, deployment altitude, etc.) and makes filling in my log book alot easier. I am however still using my Pro Teck helmet. I love my Pro Teck, but unfortunatly, the way I mounted my Pro Track (on the inside), I can not hear the alarms until I am under canopy. I really do not want to mount my Pro Track on the outside of my Pro Teck, that would be like scotch taping my paycheck to the outside of my helmet. Has anyone else encountered this, or have any suggestions on mounting the Pro Track to a Pro Teck and hearing the alarms? Thanks in advance for any input!! Blue ones!! Greg A-37958
