Happily, of all of the "outs" available at my dz, none contain farm animals. I have, however, had the completely awesome experience, on my AFF level 3, I was under canopy and looking around and then down at the landing area. As I looked down, I saw, gliding underneath me by about 20'-50', an awesome big ole brown hawk, Im not sure if he saw me or not, but I was the only canopy in the sky as I was under a big ole 288. I followed him for a bit, just flying above him watching him line up into the wind, it was cool, he kind of helped me with my approach!! But he kept going and I had to land. It was cool though!!! BWaaaaaaaahahahaha!!! Say.......that lion has an awesome Javelin and full face too!!

I used to live "over seas" and you nailed it there!!! That stuff is NAPPY FODDER!!! EEEEEEWWWWW!!! My mother, for a bit, while we were there, tried to make me and my brother eat that "stuff" and it was horrible. "Just put it on toast, you wont be able to taste it" she says...........YEAH RIGHT!! If the object was to "not taste it" then why eat it!! Fortunatly, I will never have to eat it again!! Greg A-37958

Damn!!! All I want to do it get rich quick!!! I guess, though, if you want to land in a clear (lion free) area, you could easily slip some raw hamburger, or a porterhouse in someones jumpsuit, then they could sort of "take one for the team". You could make a game show out of it like that "weakest link" thing!! lol
-
I wonder what the packing area looks like!!! I guess it might be better to land out at that dz!! lol I could make a mint if I came up with an aresol lion repellant!!

Now that is an impressive building, I would be willing to jump it someday, but it seems we will have to wait at least 15 years for it to be completed. Bummer!!

It is the best to have a family member (for me, my older brother) that shares your experience and love of skydiving. My bro and I are very close, and when he told me he was going to skydive, the first thing I said was "Ill never jump out of a perfectly good airplane, are you freakin nuts!!" He took me down to the dz and we met up with a few friends he had met at a party who were skydivers. They were COOL!!, certainly a different kind of people to most others I had met, up until then, laid back and friendly, no stupid hang ups and such. We watched a few landings, and then took an observer ride. After I saw a bunch of tandems land and a few tandem exits, I agreed to try it. I loved it, and so did my bro. So we signed up for AFF. I can not well describe the bennefit of having someone that close to you as a sort of support structure, we studied together, practiced together, rode to the dz together, talked skydiving whenever possible, and the best thing, we always got to train and jump together. I got a huge burst of confidence when I could look over and see my bro on jump run. It made it easier!! And now that we are both licensed, we get to jump together for real, not just ride on the same load, and its great!! I will always have someone to jump with, it is a comforting feeling!! Actually, I have much respect for those who went through with this whole skydiving thing "solo" so to speak, because its tough sometimes.

Wooooohooooooo!!! Congrats on the A!!!

You mean they are not on the same island? I wonder if Leprachuns ever base jump off of rainbows to find thier pot of gold?
-
Sounds like you had a blast!! Its a shame you could only do one jump, but with the clouds and such, it sounds like a worthwhile trip. All that aside, did you get to see the Loch Ness Monster, or any Leprachauns, or eat Haggus? I always wanted to go to Ireland, but if there is one thing I know about me is that I hate rain, so I prolly wouldnt have had much fun!

I coudnt agree more, thats exactly what it is, a back up. But I think in this case, this guy could have used a back up, he certainly was not using his primary!!
-
Nah!! Not yet, from what I understand it takes about four freakin months for it to cycle around, but yeah, I still look every month just in case!!
-
It would prolly work pretty good, you may need to make them more rigid somehow, It would be fun to try it anyway!!
-
No worries, I was actually responding to wingnut and Omri, but thats why I posted the question, I was looking for feedback. If it takes off, I could make a mint!!! Bwaaaaaahahahaha, thats the ticket yeah, that McSponsorship thing would be perfect!!! lol Blue ones, Greg A-37958

Damn, kick ass dude!! I was all geared up on Sunday and on my way out to Estrella to meet up with a few friends that were out there, (man what a beautiful day Sunday was here in AZ) anyway, my darling x wife decided that I needed take the kid to soccer practice on Sunday because I went skydiving on Easter , so, no jumping (f*ck, I hate her!!) . So, yeah, from what I hear, the Porter down there is kick ass, my friends dig it, so, Im sure Ill see ya there soon. Blue ones!! Greg A-37958

Hello Karen, a friend emailed this to me this morning, and yeah, what a nice way to start the week!! Anyway, not sure where this came from originally, but the link that Skreamer provided will most likley shed some light on the name of the book this was "plagerized" from.

Right ON!!! Congrats, yeah, I just got a Pro Track too, they are the bomb!!!BTW, you can delete the last jump from the logbook, but it wont help if you dont realize the jump was improperly recorded before you make your next jump. What kind of wrist mount did you get? I use and FT-40, its not bad, the face is a little small, but other than that, it works great!! Blue ones!! Greg A-37958

Aaaaaah, I see......Thanks , now I understand!!! Thats actually kinda funny!! Its kinda too bad, I mean, if the guy has 40 plus jumps, its obvious that he really wants to jump. By 40 or more jumps, you kinda know that jumping is something you really want to do, maybe he should spend some time in a wind tunnle and work out his freefall issues and then come back. Maybe a Skydive University school could fix him right up!! Just glad his AAD worked, he may want to invest in a Dytter or Pro Track, maybe if he had an audiable, he could have avoided the entire stunt!! Greg A-37958

Ummm.......I hate to come off as "slow".......but.......I dont get it, what does "the rope" (as mentioned earlier) or "dope rope" mean? I would assume hanging harness, or the guy likes to smoke dope prior to jumping?

I take it you dont think this would work, oh well, Ill have to make my fortune the old fashion way. Guess I should go get my resignation letter back from the boss man!!! Better yet, maybe I could let him keep it and get a job at McDonalds as a "local" Ronald!! Ill just tell all of the kids that I wear the "big read shoes" for stability when I "McJump" from the "McOtter"!! Blue ones!! Greg A-37958

Has anyone heard of or thought about a pair of "Head Down Shoes"? Im thinking they would be like an oversized pair of tivas or something, to help catch the wind, and maybe prove helpful when beginning to freefly, something you could kind of "hang" under, like training wheels for head down. I have seen some suits with "gills" on the legs that kind of accomplish the same thing, but Im thinking of a possible "poor mans friend" approach. Even if they were, perhaps, inflatable, like water wings that you could slip on before exit. Any thoughts?? Greg A-37958

If I "know" (important point there) I am going to jump the next day, I usually keep it to a dull roar eat a good dinner and will stop drinking and get some sack time by about 9:30 or 10:00pm. Unfortunatly, the way it works, on occasion, is that after some serious drinking (read courage enhancement), and some "s*it talking, I decide that "Im going skydiving tomorrow" quite a bit later, and after quite a bit more drinking. But I certainly enjoy a day more at the dz with a "clear head" and not hung over.

Go to the FAQ, there are posts with additional links from Sangiro and Cyberskydive that very neatly walk you through the process. Its pretty easy, the hard part is finding a "cool" picture!! Good luck!!
