Oh, dont get me wrong...I havent done any night jumps yet, but I sure as hell cant wait to. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE flying at night...dont know why, just something surreal about it I guess.... Anyways, thanks for the answer, I was just curious... Blue Skies, Marshall

Ya know what....I just might do that. Feb. 4th is my birthday...what better way to celebrate!!!
-
Yeah, you'd have to pay me a hellofalot of money to stick any part of my body in a bowl full of snakes, lol.

AggieDave said it....first reply...

Is it just plain rude or is it a reality of sky...

I think it could easily be made into a beer offence...ya know, kinda like landing on the wrong side of the beer line. Only problem is, you have to get whoever did it to fess up, so what if its a tandem student... -
"You know you could go Stetson" From what I've heard, Stetson is realllllllllllly expensive, which is part of the reason I transferred out of Embry Riddle....

"tryingnottodropzone.com" LOL....I like that one...hehehe.

I also failed my level 2 AFF jump once. No biggie really, my instructors were really cool about it, and they helped me through it both mentally and physically. One thing that helps immensely- PRACTICE ON THE GROUND... Some people may think its pointless, but do it anyways, who cares- its free. Get a creeper, and get into your body position, and just keep practicing that muscle memory. I'm willing to bet it WILL pay off. Relax, and visualize having a wonderful, perfect skydive as your riding to altitude. Good luck, you'll get through it....

Alright, so I transferred out of college down in Daytona Beach (yea, i know...im nuts) and moved back up to NY temporarily (which means no more DeLand for a while)- until next fall and I find another college (thats reasonably close to a DZ). But where I live (near Rochester) theres like, no dropzones whatsoever. No dropzones means probably no skydivers and very few of my whuffo friends and none of my family members take any interest in skydiving whatsoever. Grrrrr, thank god for videos (skydiving ones)..... Anyways, come nicer weather I'm probably going to spend my weekends camping out at The Ranch, or Cross Keys, NJ. In the meantime, I'm putting my ability to ski extremely well to good use as an instructor. So who on here jumps at either of those places? When do they start jumping regularly? Ahhhhhhhhh, I'm gonna go crazy!!!! Blue Skies, Marshall

sure, that'd be sweet, if you get a chance...

Hey AggieDave, whats the one you had in the background on the pumpkin jump video a while back? That was pretty cool...

Learn to Fly- by the Foo Fighters Breathe- by Prodigy I've seen both of those put on lots of tandems... I personally like "I Wish You Were Here" by Incubus. But theres tons of good ones out there... Blue Skies, Marshall

The discussion on licenses reminded me of something I read a while back. Apparently there was some attempt in the works to eliminate the night jump requirement for the D-License....just curious, what ever became of that?
-
Ah...I must have been thinking of a different camp...
-
"...throw in some beers and you have a wonderful Friday night of laughter..." hehe, that will be a fun one to explain to the cop that pulls you over
-
lol- jeez....sounds like my life already, minus the jumping everyday. Guess I better hurry up and finish up that degree....
-
Yeah....must be awesome to be good enough to skydive for a living. Wait, I'm only 19- maybe if I win the lottery or get a reaaallllllly good job, or maybe just get reallllly lucky, I can jump a ton and do it for a living when I grow up ...
-
Either way, 30 or 50- I'll take the 263 jumps with my friends any day
-
"...probably 50 with those guys..." lol...actually I think its less....I think I heard its 30... -Marshall

Anybody ever go to or know someone who went to the U.S. Academy of Parachute Rigging out in Eloy, AZ? I'm thinking about going out there for my Sr. Rigger's rating, but I wanted some input on it first.... Also...any idea what the job outlook/pay is like for a full time, newly-minted rigger at a big DZ? Just curious.... Blue skies, Marshall

sheesh, I'm retarded...I forgot to put the altitudes Break-off: usually 5.5K Deployment: usually 4-4.5K "Now or Never": 2200
-
Break-off altitude, deployment altitude, and the "now or never" altitude (for example: in the event of, say some line twists...that is the altitude that I will quit trying to fix the problem and cutaway). Basically, the "now or never" altitude is the time when I make the final decision as to what canopy I'm going to land under. I'm sure everyone has their own way of doing things...but since you asked- thats mine. Happy New Year and Blue Skies, Marshall

"...won't even do a roller coaster..." Me either....but I guess thats cause I can do way better than a roller coaster....
-
Hey..thanks for the help guys. Now I have another couple questions....
-
Yeah...one of my friends out at DeLand has some of that hologram stuff on one of his jumpsuits. Really cool looking....I know my next one is coming from her for sure.
