BIG WAY CAMP, 5-8 October Skydive Perris
yjumpinoz replied to katecooper's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Its also a lot of fun to be put out of you comfort zone. Like me, 140# in the base. Not to mention a tunnel in the parking lot.... -
If I am wrong I apologize, but I would like to see that evidence....

Bombing from an airplane is a duty from an order. Where is the order for a suicide bomber? Is it allah or the government?
-
So being a martyr is for your country and not for allah?
-
Is being a martyr a cultural thing, a religious thing, or a fanatic thing? If Islam rewards this, why don't I see this locally from the mosque in my town?
-
I am curious why the terrorists cover their faces when they protest, when they make speaches, and when they behead the infidels? I am not making light of it, I don't understand why they don't want to take credit for what they do.
-
Why is it that a majority of the protestors wear something to cover their face? Shouldn't they be proud of who they are and what they are saying. Even Fred Phelps shows his face....

My teams name is swoops....

Old Airplanes from "Back in the Day" where are they now
yjumpinoz replied to Amazon's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
I came across a video of me and my girlfriend, at the time, jumping out of Mullin's Helio Stallion at Muskogee. That was a unique airplane. Not sure how many of them are left. And something else that was cool was that Tom Piras was on the load. Anyone have pics of that plane? -
It's embarrassing for those of us who have competed and were just trying to make it into double digits..

I just ran across my copy of Proof. It was a USC film project that the skydiving scenes for Fandango came from. It is pretty much the same and I even think Truman is the same guy..Anybody else seen it?

Who's going to the Texas two step 80 ways?
yjumpinoz replied to mirage62's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I was a little bummed at first, but I think that with the smaller group we may get some really complicated dives from Larry and BJ. Looking forward to it. -
What would make you "turn in" someone to the FAA?
yjumpinoz replied to peek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The FAA is not our enemy either. We have a good relationship with ours. He will come out on occasion and just watch. Should we be concerned? Not if we are doing what we should... -
What would make you "turn in" someone to the FAA?
yjumpinoz replied to peek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
As a aircraft mechanic, I would have to seriously consider it if I knew there was an unsafe aircraft. I would stop jumping it early and probably recomend others do the same, but to avoid a fatal accident I think it would be worth it. I personally know our FAA rep, and he is not out to get us. -
Who's going to the Texas two step 80 ways?
yjumpinoz replied to mirage62's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Now that the format has changed, who is still going? I am still planning on it unless it goes down much further.... -
exactly...why?
-
If I remember right, its called relative work. Relative to others and their fall rate. It has to be adjusted either way. I really get tired of hearing everyone downloading their fancy altimeters when they land talking about how slow or how fast the formation was. Most of the time they don't match anyway. Fly together. It seems nobody can fly at different fall rates anymore.

I will be there. Have you heard any of the details or dives? -
I guess that was where I was going with this. Not everyone can teach. I just have trouble when people are slipping through the cracks. I see "coached" jumpers that in my opinion should still be students. I am old school and I like the old system.
-
Nice point on the CRW....When I was a student there were some great experienced jumpers to help mold me. That was in the RW only days. I just don't feel the same thing happening. I hate to see someone with a few hundred jumps that can't even fly. However I also think a lot has to do with the motivation of said student. They have the option of traveling and seeking out "professional instruction"
-
But do you think its safe to have someone molding a freefall student that has spent very little time on their belly?
