  1. We just had five kids in a near by community arrested for planning a Columbine style assualt. I feel its better to err on the side of caution. Especially if its my kid at risk. If the rules are perfectly clear, whats the problem? Can't you be held for holding up a bank with a fake gun????
  2. I was surprised when I logged my last jump...it was 1666 and I lived through it.
  3. It is about the parents and not the Christian agenda. If parents don't take an active role in education, the student will likely suffer. My whole point was parents should teach certain things, and schools other.
  4. I know what teachers go through, my brother is a special education teacher. Dirty thankless, payless job. Even though I am a product of public schools, I think private schools are a better option. My step son is the same age as a boy I am mentoring for, and his education is like night and day. I do think the parent shares a chunk of the blame. I am not sure of home schooling for the same reasons you mention.
  5. I guess thats part of my problem. I am perfectly capable of teaching my youngster what he needs to know about sex. How can I trust the teachers in the "system". Here comes the homeschool thing again. I think it boils down to parents failing both in homework and teaching life skills not suited for public schools.
  6. I agree that it might be a bit dangerous to not teach the science of reproduction, but should you be able to opt out if parents do not agree with all that public schools are so capable of teaching. Just because someone is qualified to teach a subject, does not make them a good teacher. Refer to the math skills of many youngsters. For that matter how about opting out of the evolution thing as well.
  7. A nearby town's board of education is discussing abstinence vs. sex ed. It seems they are going with abstinence. It got me thinking that teaching sex education in school is a lot like people's opinion on teaching creationism. It should be taught at home and not in school. I really believe that they are very similar.
  8. How about high speed dirt by Megadeath. Some may think its sick, but check it out....
  9. Yes it is Sandy. I just want a turbine pretty close. Is that too much to ask?
  10. Thanks for the well thought out researched answer.
  11. I do not feel because of a lifestlye choice, that makes anyone entitled to certain things. I do believe that as an American you are free to pursue that lifestyle even if certain groups disagree. As far as benefits, the company I work for has benefits for domestic partners. Surely a will would take care of anything in case of a death.
  12. Yes my reasons for being against gay marriage are mainly religious. My examples are far fetched. I honestly feel that it would probably open other doors. I am not a homophobe, I feel that a civil union of some sort is not discriminatory. I think you will cry semantics, but I believe marriage is one man one woman. I would ask an honest question. Besides insurance, what are the benefits for the "union"?
  13. It was two consenting, now it may be ok for more. Thats what I am talking about. It has already changed. My opinion is that being gay is wrong. I repeat only my opinion. Personally some people believe its perfectly normal. Do you think that molesters, polygimists, etc. don't think they are normal? Maybe the government should leave them alone to do what they want and get their rights.
  14. Back to my point. Were is the line drawn. Apparently it will not be.
  15. I guess they do need a place to jump too. This topic really hits home. We used to have access to a Caravan and we truly couldn't support it. The KC thing is a different story. We sure miss the plane, and I am sure they will to if it is not supported out of stupid pride.
  16. I had a good time at the grand opening. Every wuffo I talked to seemed positive. I think it is complete nonsense to think that the KC area cannot support a turbine. Now the stupid people that do not realize what the have going, thats a different story. Common sense says that competition is a great thing. It raises the bar.
  17. I agree with you not to censor the opinion. This is a free country to be as stupid as you want to be. The patriot guard does a great job and does it peacefully. The families have been very pleased with their help.
  18. I know the examples were extreme, but where do you draw the line on who demands marriage rights? There are so many more examples that could be brought up. And don't tell me that that would never happen. It's a sick and twisted world we live in.
  19. If what I do doesn't bother other, how about I marry my dog fifi. She sure could use some benefits. How about my 10 year old daughter. Shouldn't bother you she needs some insurance. How about I marry an illegal alien. At least they could be here legally now. My point is where do we draw the line?
  20. Unfortunately I am not too far away from this wacko. There is an outfit of motorcycle riders (the patriot guard) that work to block the protesters from the family at the funerals. It has become a rallying point. As a christian, it makes me sick that some people use the pretense religion to spread their hate agenda. The state is also working to pass a law limiting protest at funerals.
  21. I tell them the truth. I work on airplanes and I know for sure there are no perfectly good airplanes...
  22. Why is it that the "turbine" is not listed on MRVS website and it is not specified what turbine it will be. Those of us from a distance may have a hard time trusting anything going on in KC. After all it is April fools day...
