  1. Cool,Video of our sunset load looked the same.Of course I wasn't on it(lol).
  2. Heady Idea.Owning the DZ I mean!I wish you the best of luck.Have been enjoying the packing I do get to do.Sometimes more than I can handle(Safety Day)and this past weekend barely enough.Best day, pack most of the day, shower and eat something, then go make the sunset load.Of course This hasn't happened yet.(lol)
  3. Thanks everybody! When the TM says"OH S**t",what can he really do?The slide, sideways PLF to the left or right really makes sense.Yeah, that is why you also make the big bucks.Tough Job!TY again.
  4. There are times when a PLF has to be used and done right. Most of the new jumpers did not start with a round parachute.Maybe some forget?Would you be able at the last second before landing to tell your brain I need to do a right side PLF?
  5. Is a PLF ever taught to the rider,or is it solely the tandem master responsibility to PLF in an emergency situation like sudden down draft at 30 ft.?
  6. Yep!unless you have a steel cable, your going to bust your ass on a windy day!I Know, because I was stupid enough just to try it!(Parafoil 189).All my so called friends got a great laugh!
  7. This has become a real habit for me lately. There is no reason for a packer(jumper) not to do this.If the pilot chute is showing wear/old,then replace it.
  8. TY,for some time this has very much worried me.Reversed risers are a great Idea in theory, they could prove unreliable overall in the future.I,m gonna go ahead and replace mine just to be sure!
  9. 5 months off didn't seem that bad?I was busy almost every weekend packing. The first 70 degree day really got to me!All my customers showed up and wanted to be packed. It was hard not to put my rig on that day for sure!
  10. Right after I started working for Air Time Designs(Feb 96)Jedei 120.Was "Extremely" nervous!
  11. This is a tough 1.Could be first night jump, first time I put my first S/L student out or my first Jedei 120 test jump. The later reminded me of exactly how I felt after my first jump.
  12. Humm, not usually. Here is why.A couple of guys got into the politics discussion recently and it seemed like at any minute it could get ugly.Mostly the sound of two guys with differing views on why we are at war with Iraq.We are a passionate group(Skydivers)except when it comes to war, politics and religion. We tend to like to think each of our views on the subject is the right 1.Of course it was like a friendly heated discussion. Why bother?
  13. Brian, you have always been very open to what is needed in skydiving.I Thank God for that.Suppose you saw my recent post on what Jim Crouch said he was going to do at our safety day?Expect(Maybe/Hope)your book becomes a required text for any future canopy coaching class?
  14. Humm, this happens.Alot more the more people you add to the equation.Good tracking skills are a "Must" when doing 4-Way RW and larger RW.Most of us have had a few of these alot closer than yours.Know what to do in the split second you have flight control after opening.
  15. USPA is going to help us!At safety day Jim Crouch told us that he was going to attend some classes.Gather Information to make this thing happen.I very much look forward to how this project develops.I know some of my friends will be more than glad to help all of us keep learning how to fly our parachutes better.Hang in there everybody!
  16. We got through it!No stupid S**T!No calls to the rescue people.Had a student cut away and not flare reserve at landing(sunday).Lucky.Poor guy,he is the type we want to take up bowling! He has no clue, panics, and costs us money!(free bag lost)
  17. Better canopy control and "Inspecting your Parachute".As a packer now I'm finding and reporting things that need rigger attention.Snagged threads, loose stitching, unusual line wear and my fav-undoing brake line twists.(I take the time to do this myself)
