  1. I can't help my fall rate,I was one of those guys who got picked first for sports in school (fall like a tool box,end first, full of lead). And by the way,it's Mr Tool box to you.
  2. I am not religious, but I know a lot of good people who are mormon, catholic, lutheran, muslim, jewish, ect, and I know alot of assholes who are religious, along with some asshole atheist. There are good and bad in all religions and races. Making a comment insinuating that being mormon is a red flag for murder suicide,is very bigoted in my opinion. I also find it personally offensive to insinuate that all gun owners are dangerous nut cases.
  3. I stand corrected. Sounds like his girlfriend was hispanic though, which is unusual for a nazi type. I have no love for any extremist groups and have even stompped the guts out of a few goose steppin skin heads in my younger years(when they attacked my shitfaced black friend). Because he used a gun to accomplish his act of lunacy,it will unfortunately give fuel to the anti gun groups. I see guns as defensive tools. If you wanted to kill someone and not get caught,a gun would be a bad choice. Guns make too much noise, leave too much evidence behind. Attacking an unarmed person with hands and feet,or a club and knocking their brains out would be easier to get away with, since you could very easily get rid of the evidence. But then if they have a gun for self defense you would most likely get shot
  4. Soooo very very true. The right balance is the answer for sure. But then again balance for one may not float well for another. Why can't everyone get along?
  5. Good point. But exhibiting a bit of socialistic behavior now and then would not make a group a purely socialistic party. In pure socialism the individual has far less importance and everything is owned and controlled by the state. This guy if anything was just very disturbed and looking for a place or group to belong. There are a lot more people out there all around the globe just like this guy.
  6. Nazi's are some very bad eggs for sure. So are all other gangs of thugs and intolerant hate mongers. I'm not sure which is worse, victimizing because of ideology or for monetary gain. Seems this guy was just emotionally unstable and went off all by his lonesome.
  7. Yea I seen he was running for sheriff or something also. I was trying to imply how a lot of people like to label everyone in a group after one confused individual who may have associated themselves with the said group. So he was a socialist republican neo-nazi law enforcement kinda guy, possibly with a hispanic girlfriend. If the media has the facts straight(they often get things wrong)then he was a man of contradiction to say the least. I also sensed a lot of anti gun flavor in the original post. If the guy had burned the house down with gasoline instead of using a gun to kill everyone, would we hear anti gas can or anti Bic lighter rhetoric instead.
  8. I had no idea that republicans were socialist. According to news reports, this guy was a member of a socialist group. Sounds like he was a marine,a socialist, and a neo-nazi. Are those three qualities definitive of a republican? I do not care for republicans or democrats myself. Being so polarized(all left or all right) seems unrealistic and unbalanced to me. It's obvious that this guy was very angry and confused to say the least. A very tragic incident. It seems there are a lot of husbands and boyfriends killing there families in murder suicides, not to mention mothers killing there own children. These things have been happening through out history but,we hear about them more often now because there are more people and news is disseminated further and faster than ever before.
  9. Thanks Jerry,it sounds like a good read?
  10. There were fewer people and more resources(clean water, fertile land, fish in the rivers and oceans) in the 30's than now,and the future looks even worse at the present rate of population growth. You seem to believe that the USA is separated from the rest of the planet. The earth has become a lot smaller, since the use of technology without wisdom or fore thought has allowed are numbers to grow beyond the ability of present technology to sustain the number of humans without negative consequence to the environment that we must live in. Humans shit in there own nest even at population levels from centuries past. As far as taxes go,I like the idea of everyone who makes money being taxed as individuals, with no deductions for children or being married. I like the sound of the flat tax idea a lot. No loop holes for getting around paying your share.
  11. Why not a flat tax? I have asked that question for years. I like all the rest of your thoughts on social engineering by the powers that be as well. Makes me think maybe we are seen as some sort of commodity or something.
  12. Ha! Are you referring to social security? I would be surprised if it's still around in another 20 years. Do you believe in the easter bunny and santa? The way we are killing the oceans, and poisoning and drying up the rivers and aquifers, trying to sustain the growing population, not only here but around the world, will most likely lead to wars over the basic requirements for life(fresh water and food) instead of wars over religion, oil, ect. But hopefully it will take several more decades before it gets real bad here in the states, and I'll be gone by then. Good chance the young ones will still be around to pay the price for the sins of there grandparents though. I know people like to convince themselves that everything is just fine even when faced with hard evidence to the contrary,I think it's called cognitive dissonance or something. I used to care about the future, but anymore I just live for here and now. EFS
  13. I want my reward for not having kids! I would also like to be rewarded for having to endure the parents lack of control over their offspring. It makes an 18 hour trip to tokyo far harder when little Egbert's mommy will not restrain him from kicking the back of your seat throughout the flight. Married people should pay the same % on taxes for their combined income as singles pay.
  14. Do you not believe in over population? Do you believe society should reward having lots of babies with tax breaks? Are you one of those people who think all the people on earth could fit in texas and have plenty of room? Do you not believe in the starvation that has occurred in the past and is happening as we speak(like the horn of africa)? Or how about the negative environmental impact the massive human population has caused already? If you want to get married so you can show the world your eternal love for each other then great, but you should not do it for a tax break. If you are going to have kids then it is a good idea to get married for the kids benefit, but you should not expect a financial break from the rest of society. if you can't afford to do it on your own do not expect the rest of us to take care of your self inflicted financial situation. Just my opinion as a realist.
  15. I understand that primitive and superstitious societies not only promoted marriage, but required it for sexual relations between men and women. But in modern science enlightened societies,it seems to have a hard time staying afloat,as the divorce rates reflect. History also shows that marriage seemed to work better when women had very few if any rights or powers compared to men. In many old cultures,it was ok if the man had relations with with other women, but the women were looked down upon for either sleeping with the married man,or cheating on the husband. In fact it was common for women to be put to death for adultery. It seems that children would benefit the most from the institution of marriage,as it would most likely help create more security and stability for them in a traditional family structure.
  16. I do not mind tax dollars being used for infrastructure(roads, parks, ect),or for people who are disabled. I do have a problem paying a higher tax rate than parents so their kids can eat breakfast, lunch, and to go to school and all the other things that parents should pay a higher tax for. If you can not afford to take care of them, then do not have them.
  17. short term being social security and long term being insufficient fresh water and food for the growing population? It seems to me that over population = more expensive food, power, water, less of everything to go around. What good will social security be,if there is nothing left in the way of resources(food, water, ect)? As far as the original post of couples vs singles,I do not know why anyone would want to get married unless they are planning a family. So I think married should pay more to head them off at the pass. But thats just my opinion.
  18. The big question should be,why do those without children pay more than those with them? With the obvious problem of over population,it seems that you should reward those who choose not to have children with huge tax breaks.
  19. Since when is following someone against the law, unless they have a restraining order against you? If I see a suspicious individual or group around the area, and I follow and watch them, but do not physically detain them, would that make me an aggressor and warrant them assaulting me? If they assault me for watching them,do I not have the right to defend myself?
  20. Just how scientific (objective) are these numbers you are throwing out?
  21. I think that alot of people in these polls you talk of,feel that using a weapon to defend yourself against an unarmed attacker is wrong because it is unfair. But is it fair for a much larger, faster, stronger, younger person to beat someone into a coma simply because they do not use a weapon other than fist and feet. These polls are simply opinions and not evidence to be used in a court of law.
