What does that have to do with the fact that he wants to turn back the ACA (except for all the popular and expensive parts) possibly leading to a collapse of the health insurance industry? What does that have to do with the fact that to pay for his top bracket tax cuts he wants to revise the tax code by eliminating deductions, the most significant of which is the mortgage interest deduction? What does that have to do with the fact that he wants to reduce funding for Medicare, which likely means an increase in individual payments? All of the things you say you fear are the things Romney wants to happen. His business experience has nothing to do with it. - Dan G

Do you realize that all those things are more likely to happen if Romney gets his way? - Dan G
  3. Which revolvers require pulling the trigger while unloading? - Dan G
  4. So you finally admit there was no warning of the attack. Good for you. - Dan G
  5. You've got to be kidding me. Talk about projection. - Dan G
  6. I sure did. And I meant my reply to be toward you. Normiss isn't full of hate for the left. You certainly are, but I don't think that means you hate America. - Dan G
  7. You always have the option for write-in. I believe these votes must be recorded, so why not write-in Mr. None D. Above. - Dan G
  8. Revolvers are, like, really hard to unload. You have to push a button and stuff. - Dan G
  9. You should do more than read the headlines from the Examiner, Fox, and Newsmax. The warning was about potential violent reaction to the airing of the video. That's all it was about. Three things: 1) Where did I say anything of the sort? You're just making up crazy strawmen now. 2) The Ambassador works for the State Department. In fact, in Libya, the Ambassador to Libya IS the State Department. 3) Of course the Ambassador would report up the chain regarding feeling threatened. What does that have to do with anything? - Dan G
  10. No apology needed. We've all done it. - Dan G
  11. They were warned of regional unrest and violent protest. They were absolutely not warned of an al Qaeda plot against the consulate in Bengazi. To suggest otherwise is completely ridiculous. Furthermore, if the Ambassador's journal indicated he knew of the potential for violence, how can you say that inaction by the Administration is to blame? The Ambassador was apparently warned. What else should Obama have done? I know you didn't believe me when I explained that the Ambassador is in charge of the mission in a foreign country, but it's true. If he felt like he was in danger, he had the resources he needed to protect himself. This warning you keep talking about was about the video. Your position makes absolutely no sense. - Dan G
  12. Um, the intel cable you're talking about warned of possible violence because of the internet video. If you can recall your own position, you believe the video had nothing to do with the attack in Bengazi. I stand by my position that the US had no intel about an attack on the consulate in Bengazi. General intel that there may be regional protests about an internet video is not the same as intel regarding a planned attack on a specific consulate. There was no warning that al Qaeda was planning to murder the US Ambassador. At least none that the general public is currently aware of. If you'd like to switch your position about the relation between the video and the attack, maybe your stances will be less contradictory. - Dan G
  13. You never said anything like what? I haven't replied to you in this thread, so I don't know what you're talking about. - Dan G
  14. Where did you find this out? - Dan G
  15. I'm not defending kallend's style, but the same could easily be said for you. He hates the right, you hate the left. I've never seen either one of you say you hate America. - Dan G
  16. They're cutting down on electric-only production, but increasing hybrid production. I think this makes sense, since battery technology is not good enough yet for most electric-only applications. I very much doubt Toyota is cutting back on battery research. They will get there, sooner rather than later. Wouldn't it be great in GM or Ford got there first? - Dan G
  17. In Bengazi, the video was a cover story, essentially. That's true. Everything I've seen indicated that there were no credible, specific threats regarding the consulate in Bengazi. If you've seen something otherwise, I'd love to have a look. Ignoring it would be silly, given the worldwide protests that have taken dozens of non-US lives. The video is still being used as an excuse for radicals to whip people into a frenzy. The responsible thing for Obama to do is to continue to distance the US from this video, while denouncing the continuing violence. I hope he does just that. - Dan G
  18. Are you now claiming that your party doesn't have any ideological leaders? Or are you claiming to be one of those leaders? Better yet, are you claiming that your screen name doesn't refer to someone from whom you take ideological guidance? But back to the topic. Do you believe that Obama should not mention the video, or if he does mention the video, what should be say about it? - Dan G
  19. They will be if your kids are whuffos. Duh. - Dan G
  20. I didn't say that you're told what to think. I said that everyone on your side will spin anything Obama says into appeasement and weakness. Read what I said again. You assumed the part about being told what to think. Here, I'll quote it for you: - Dan G
  21. I think we've seen evidence that the attack on the consulate was coordinated. We've also seen evidence that the protesters around the world were whipped into a frenzy about a video that virtually none of them had seen. I don't think there is any evidence that all of the protests across the world were coordinated to cover up for an attack on a small American consulate in Libya, which is what you seem to be implying. Either way, I see nothing wrong with continuing to distance the American people and government from this video. I also realize that no matter what Obama actually says, you and your ideological leaders will spin it into an appeasement of radical Islam, and a gesture of weakness. - Dan G
  22. And Mitt Romney never sat on the back porch and shared a beer wih his. Anti-American, I tell you! - Dan G
  23. Are you aware that Obama has killed way more al Qaeda and Taliban leaders than Bush? - Dan G
