You need to slow down and read things before you respond. Both candidates are attacking each other without offering anything positive about their own plans. The previous poster implied that Obama is doing all the attacking, I was just pointing out that both sides are doing it. Right now I'm planning to vote for Obama because at least I have an inkling of his plans for the country. I have no idea what Romney is going to do because he won't say. BTW, I am in a swing state. I'm already quite sick of the phone calls, mailings, and TV ads. I have yet to see a positive ad from the Romney side. - Dan G

What people are upset about is that it is not the truth. Everyone likes to throw around the 47% number without thinking about it. IIRC Obama received 53% of the popular vote, or something close. Do you really think that only 6% of the population are both Democrats and pay income tax? Do you really think that 88.7% of Obama supporters pay no income tax, and 100% of McCain supporters do? Everyone talks about Obama trying to incite class warfare, but this statement by Romney is worse than anything Obama has ever said. Not to mention the fact (discussed ad naseum here) that income tax is not the only federal tax. - Dan G

Probably the same chance that Romney will address real issues and stop attacking Obama. - Dan G

Under Obama, 11,327 Pages of Federal Regulations Added

The original article was from CNS, not CBS. CNS stands for Conservative News Service. - Dan G -
Beck's been around for many years. He had his own show on Fox for a number of years. His BlazeTV internet show has only been around for one year. CNN is certainly losing TV viewers, but to compare to Beck's internet site, you should add all the CNN TV viewers to the unique hits to their site. I'd be willing to bet CNN has the edge. - Dan G
-
According to a recent Forbes article, Beck has 300,000 subscribers. A recent article in the NY Daily News said the average viewership for CNN was 446,000 during prime time. I think maybe Mr. Beck exaggerated his claim a little. - Dan G

Where did you learn this? Glenn Beck himself, perhaps? - Dan G

Glenn Beck is trying to unify? I'm doubtful. - Dan G

Fine, whatever. Congrats, you win three internets. - Dan G

Obama condemns killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya

Thanks. - Dan G -
Would I turn down $3B or $3M? Of course not. Would you turn down $0.01? I would, pennies are annoying. What does that have to do with anything? The pertinent question is, are we getting anything of value for our $52.7B? That should be the question for all potential budget cuts. I think cutting all foreign aid would not be worth the $52.7B we'd save. And while we quibble about $52.7B, we're spending a lot more than that on things that I don't think we get any value out of. - Dan G

So why did you say you would pass on my lack on condolences to the families? Sure sounds like that was aimed at me, and it sure sounds like you were trying to piss me off. - Dan G -
Obama condemns killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya
DanG replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
I never said they should be unarmed. I said that the Ambassador is free to make that decision. And you are clearly trying to piss me and anyone who disagrees with you off. I think you've been listening to too much talk radio. - Dan G -

I've thrown no shit in this thread. If you're just trying to piss me off, then please cut it out. It pisses me off. - Dan G -
Obama condemns killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya

I'm not sure what I'm cutting out, but okay. If it's the statement, "fuck you," I fail to see how that's not an appropriate response to what Marc said, but I will try to take the high road from here on. - Dan G -
Yes, 0.1% is a small drop. The person I was responding to said that cutting foreign aid would allow us to balance the budget in short order. Do you agree that cutting the budget to 99.9% of the current level will result in a balanced budget? - Dan G

Obama condemns killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya
DanG replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
First off, fuck you. That's not what I said and you know it. I'm a retired Army Reserve officer. Marines aren't special. The Ambassador is in charge. You want so badly for this to be egg on Obama's face it is ridiculous. Talk about lack of respect for the dead. - Dan G -
Obama condemns killing of U.S. ambassador to Libya
DanG replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
I would respond it two ways: 1. In a country where no shooting war is underway, the US Ambassador decides the disposition of the troops in country. If the Ambasssador decided not to issue live ammo, that's his call. 2. Any Marine blogging about their current operational disposition should be brought up on charges. - Dan G -

You keep saying that. Can you explain why you think that? - Dan G -
You need to check your numbers. Foreign aid is a small drop in a big bucket. That being said, if the President of the United States wants to snub a leader of a country the size of New Jersey, that's his fucking perogative. I see nothing wrong with it, especially given Israel's apparent belief that they can dictate US foreign policy. - Dan G

Yeah, Owen said his teammates have suported him. He also said that anyone using the raid for political points is wrong. I have not yet read his sitrep. - Dan G

This sentance, besides the fact that it makes no grammatical sense, doesn't jive at all with what Owen said during the interview. - Dan G

Just anticipating the next line of attack. It was meant to be tongue in cheek. - Dan G

I hear a lot of people, especially the radio talk show hosts I occasionally listen to, talk about Obama's goal of destroying the country. If that's just a "feeling" then I really can't argue with it. When asked for the facts, the doomsayers usually come up short. I prefer to go on facts. As far as feeling, I currently feel that Obama would be better than Romney, so I'm leaning that way. Romney has yet to say anything that makes me feel differently. And he certainly hasn't provided any facts. - Dan G
