  1. Who are these people? Anonymous callers to Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck? Can you give any names or sources? The timeline is still unclear, and anyone who claims it isn't and they know exectly what happened is full of it. - Dan G
  2. First of all, I never admitted that Obama lied in front of the UN. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I don't think we'll know that for sure for a long time. I was merely addressing the tone of your post, which made it sound like every word that came out of his mouth was a lie. I was pointing out that most of his comments were quite true. There were most definitely protests over the video. The fact that the terrorists in Benghazi used those protests as concealment for their operation doesn't change the fact that the protests happened. rushmc seems to think that everything related to the video is a lie because the two incidents (video protests and Benghazi attack) happened at the same time. I'm glad you don't feel the same way. And since I'm blabbing on, I very much doubt that some of the stuff that is being thrown around regarding the Administration's response to the attack is even close to true. I can't believe that Obama was sitting in the situation room, watching live video like in a Tom Clancy movie, knowing that well armed terrorists were engaging in a planned assault, and said, "Fuck 'em, I'm going to bed." Things just don't happen like that. I would not be at all surprised to find out that the requests for assistance never even made it to the White House until it was too late. Why on Earth, if the White House knew what was happening, would he not respond? If response were so easy as claimed by some, why wasn't a response made by the local commander? The anti-Obama narrative has as many holes in it as the pro-Obama narrative. - Dan G
  3. So then you'd agree with the idea that the only part of his speech that was a "lie" was relating the attack on the Consolate in Benghazi to the video? The rest of his comments, indeed the thrust of his comments, was about the hundreds of thousands of people protesting that had nothing to do with Benghazi, and in fact were mostly in different cities and different countries around the Muslim world. That's why I asked if you thought the Administration was behind the whole thing. If you don't believe that, then it really doesn't make sense to characterize all of his comments as lies, because the attack in Benghazi was only a very small part of the overall story. Um, no. His narrative, insofar as the War on Terror is concerned, is that he refocused our efforts where they belonged, namely against al Qaeda, and that we have started to make significant progress. I've never heard him, or anyone else in the Administration, say that the war is over, and all of the problems with terrorism have been solved. Indeed. - Dan G
  4. Do you believe that the protests all around the Muslim world, purportedly over the video, were either orchetrated by al Qaeda, or fabricated by the Obama Administration? Furthermore, do you believe the Obama Administration created or distributed the video? - Dan G
  5. Very succint description of Wheeler's article. - Dan G
  6. Obama saying, "Pass the salt," would sound like an apology to you. - Dan G
  7. I had trouble with the link. Is the allegation that Obama has been arming revolutionaries, and now those revolutionaries are turning their weapons against us? If so, not only is this nothing new (see US Foreign Policy 101, starting with Reagan), but it should inform Romney's insistence that we arm the rebels in Syria, something Obama has been reluctant to do. - Dan G
  8. We probably have more bayonettes now, because we have more people. On the other hand, not everyone is issued a bayonette, so it's hard to say. I doubt we have more horses. - Dan G
  9. America is exceptional. Americans, not so much. - Dan G
  10. Here's something constructive: Hugo Chavez and Ceasar Chavez are not the same person. - Dan G
  11. What everyone else said is true regarding wear and tear. My 2008 Prius is going in tomorrow for it's 150,000 mile service. Yep, that 150,000+ miles in 4.5 years. Still runs great. I change the oil on schedule and do the full maintanance check-up every 30,000 miles. No problems so far (knock on wood). On the other hand, high milage kills resale value. We just traded in my wife's 2006 Subaru Forester. With average milage it would be worth about $10,000. With the 146,000 miles we put on it, we only got $3,000. - Dan G
  12. Maybe they've tried to cover something up, and maybe they didn't. I can tell you for sure if they were discussing the security situation openly, the same people would be screaming about the release of classified information. - Dan G
  13. Yeah, what businesses need is someone who's positions are stable, rock solid, unchanging! Someone like, um...Mitt Romney? - Dan G
  14. I voted for Obama/Biden because I thought they'd be a better choice that McCain/Palin. I didn't care what color anyone was. I suspect that was true of most people. - Dan G
  15. Obama never said he was born in Kenya. - Dan G
  16. Not sure how that's an attack on Romney's person. It's out of line, but not a personal attack. It's akin to the right saying that Obama hates your success and want's to punish people for doing well. It's not true, but not a personal attack. - Dan G
  17. It's not an example of a trend if it's the only one of it's kind. Can you think of any other personal attack ads? I can't, but maybe they are out there. The ads from both sides are almost entirely negative, which I find really annoying, but they do at least try to address issues instead of personality. - Dan G
  18. Birth certificate and birth announcement in the paper not proof enough, huh? Not as many as I heard saying Obama wants to destroy America and put the Soviet Union in it's place. - Dan G
  19. Okay, so the one as that implied Romney's policies led to the death of that woman was out of line. I agree with that. Was that your only problem? I live in Virginia, and am constantly bombarded by attack ads. They seem to be focused on policies, however tenuous to reality their claims may be. - Dan G
  20. How about when they've definitively proved where and when they were born? Is continuing to imply that they are a foreigner a personal attack? You didn't answer my first question. What attacks on the Romney have you found disgusting? - Dan G
  21. I agree that families should be off limits until they put themselves in the spotlight for political purposes. I think attacks on Romney's wife for things she said at the convention and political events are fair game. Attacks on her for other things are low class. Same is the case for Michelle Obama. As far as personal attacks on the candidates, I haven't seen as much of that in this cycles as in the past. I was not expecting RStanley and other posters to bring that up, since I hadn't really seen a lot of attacks that I consider personal against Romney. Attacking him for the 47% thing is not personal. Attacking him for his history with Bain is not personal. I guess I'm not sure what attacks people see as disgusting. - Dan G
  22. Which personal attacks on Romney and his wife are you talking about? Are you equally disgusted by personal attacks on Barack and Michelle Obama? - Dan G
  23. What personal attacks are you talking about? Are you equally disgusted by the personal attacks on Obama? - Dan G
  24. I'm sure we could find a Korean speaker. Finding a Korean speaking medium might be harder. - Dan G
  25. And that has to do with the timing of Romney's statement, how? - Dan G
