  1. Two marketing people that were working on a Sonic Drive In ad. One jumped with a Sonic bag and the other was sucking on a Sonic shake steveOrino
  2. Good question. Part of me certainly wants to hurt the guy. I have a granddaughter that is 6 years old too. Perhaps I'm too close to be rational. If he did it, and DNA says he did, then there is NOTHING too strong of a sentence for what he did. Imagine your 6 year old being raped by someone, then strung up like side of beef. Would anything make you feel better? I doubt it. However, that being said, if it were my granddaughter that he did that to ... well. let me say I think my Christian convictions of justice would be put to the ulitmate test. steveOrino
  3. ... for the rapist & killer of this child, whether it be this guy or someone else? http://www.click2houston.com/news/14227646/detail.html# Obviously nothing will suffice. While I am a strong believer in the our criminal justice system, it is sad this pervert will spend 20 years appealing, if he isn't shanked in prison first. steveOrino
  4. Or illustrated you were incapable. jk steveOrino
  5. Ooops....thanks Steve. I stand corrected with apologies to raymond_jones for my bozo tidbit. Nah, don't apologize. He was surely trying to stir the stuff he was stepping in by calling out a competitor under the pretense of them being a skyride scam when he knows they are not. Gimmee a break! steveOrino
  6. read the HIPS, not the LIPS. As both a TM and vidiot I know that my best intention to leave on "go" can be derailed by a student grabbing the strut on a Cessna as we start to exit. I tell the vidiots to watch my hips. When they go ... I go, despite what my lips say. I remember Mel (the TM) and I had a jedi mind reading thing going on. I could tell when the tandem student was going to balk or grab. I watched Mel's eyes and his hips -- disregard the lips. steveOrino
  7. great movie! I watched with some Harley buds and we all laughed a lot! steveOrino
  8. I believe the site w/ the Raeford pictures is not "directly" related to any particular DZ. It is about the dude's video concession perhaps. So for that I will give him a pass on the Raeford pictures "if" he took them. However, it is fairly obvious what his motivation was about his rant against the phoeniza area skydiving website, when you see he has ties with their competitor. And I'm a scumbag ... yeah, right! steveOrino
  9. Do you think you may have a conflict of interest? Are you completely unbiased in your judgment? http://www.raymondjonesfilms.com/pics.html http://desertskydivingcenter.com I see the same staff picture on your website and phoenixareskyding's competition's website . Hmmmmmmmmmm steveOrino
  10. Caertainly those who have a borderline personality disorder can find themselves in skydiving as they tend to be attracted to "dangerous" activities. steveOrino
  11. No more than any other activity I would bet. QuoteYou're probably right. I did a research paper for my Masters on the personality traits of licensed skydivers. One "starnge" thing that came up is, while most skydivers had a very strong sense of self effacacy, instructors tend to have less. While I did not research further for the conclusion of that data I believe it is because Instructors have seen more things go wrong. steveOrino
  12. I've only been skydiving a short time (7 years) and a therapist even shorter, but I typically don't see people at the DZ who I would assess as having a mental illness during my first impression of them. As far as regular skydivers? Well, we have our share of narcissists & chemically dependent people.
  13. I have two Masters. My belief that the grad school is just more "focused" than my undergrad classes. The profs were usually very engaging. In my field, the classes on research & assessment are taught by those very good in those fields, but they tend to be boring. Of course that is not the case in every university. Congrats & God's speed in your new adventure. steveOrino
  14. He was (weapons sgt) now he is in 82nd steveOrino
  15. am i saying or recommending to do things under 25 jumps? my time in the sport has nothing to do with the conversation at large........i have better things going for me in life than worry or even care about my profile on DZ.COM. obviously you'd rather see new and up coming jumpers get scandled than lead them in the right direction from the get go. remind me to add you to the list.............................. I'm on someone's list ... cool! I still can't see why you got your panties all up in a wad over this website. Must be hormonal steveOrino
  16. Any worse than saying you are a student with 1 year in sport with 666 jumps? steveOrino
  17. Care to make it more interesting? $50 seems so ... cheap. steveOrino

  19. Get ready, you're gonna have a looooong season filled with Cowboy wins and T.O.'s comments. steveOrino
  20. skinnyshrek has got to be shaking in his boots worrying about the $50 he is going to lose to me when his Redskins play my 'boys. Lee, I'll let you off the hook -- just pay me $25 now, and I'll cancel the bet. steveOrino
  21. That is beautiful, but $1500 seems high. I think I would have bought a FTP and some other gear. But then I wouldn't have the satisfaction of making my own ... Good job! steveOrino
  22. Pray tell me ir what attitude did I diplay that is so repugnant? My pride in my son? My desire to be there with him? steveOrino
  23. LOL! From my son's ... with a reply "No wonder the silly afghans smell" You gotta love products whose translation is funny. Yes, he jumps. He hopes to do many more when he gets back in the states. steveOrino
