  1. You post is the first I've heard about this. Anyone famous making this claim? Or is it just the people you associate with? IMO, these kinds of "throw down the gauntlet" claims say much more about a person's intolerance and emotional instability than their political convictions.
  2. Millions? How many millions? And when was that time? Or is this just another exagerated, well outside the bell curve comparison? Please enlighten me. I just want to learn.
  3. Why do you think George H. W. Bush is an asshole?
  4. I went to that page, scrolled to the bottom, clicked the listed sources... Dead links!
  5. You getting tired of whacking those gimme lobs out of here?
  6. And the sentence preceeding the one you quoted was: "The Clintons have had a blind trust continuously since 1993 and had no control over its transactions." Cherry picking at it's finest. LOL
  7. "Militant Sunni jihadists" would have been better.
  8. This kind of right wing Crap boils up ... to deflect the sheeple from the true fiscal attrocity of this NeoCon Optional War/Nationbulding exercise that has gone completely sideways. Kind of like all that noise about Dubya's ANG record, eh?
  9. I've always been impressed with the 1 to 1 to 1 relationship of distance to volume to weight... and it's all decimal.
  10. Yeah... that there are some discussions on another website that need my unique je ne se qua.
  11. OR, crazy idea, let's just not spend that money. HECK, let's not even take it from "its own citizens" in the first place. Then they can buy their own healthcare and upper education. Now that's just crazy talk.
  12. With a list like the one below, one has to wonder how many of Clinton's assaults were never reported.
  13. By that rationale, human life can be sustained in space or in the Mariana Trench. Or were you thinking term "sustaining life", in the context of this discussion, included "by any artificial means"?
  14. Impressive. I guess the other side of the coin would be that it's virtually impossible to have the coin land tails 10 times out of 10 tosses.
  15. Or people who have taken the time to actually measure media bias in an objective manner. http://www.polisci.ucla.edu/faculty/groseclose/pdfs/MediaBias.pdf
  16. Right, but luckily we know there are billions of galaxies containing billions of stars existing for billions of years which gives plenty of time to organise zillions of molecules into every conceivable order. Kind of like the "infinite monkey theorem". LOL If you toss a coin and it comes up heads, what are the odds of the next toss will come up tails? What if it lands heads 10 times in a row... what are the odds of the next toss will come up tails?
  17. I wonder how much can be explained away by experience, education, and time in the workforce??? 90 percent? 95 percent? 99 percent? Hmm.
  18. What do Lanthanides have to do with it? I don't know. Did I bring them into the discussion? And I'm not talking about those white guys, who signed under the Motown label back in the 60s, either.
  19. So you know "a HELL of a lot of men" who have been accused of rape and/or sexual assault by for or five women? That whole "no doesn't mean no" comparison to rape is one of the silliest (nicest word I could think of) analogies I've read here. My three year old daughter has better critical thinking skills.
  20. I find it interesting when I read posts like this... as if individuals are regularly being prostheletized to. I have such experiences maybe once or twice a year and it's almost always done in a relatively non-confrontational manner. We have some neighbors (who are Mormons) that we regularly run into and a good friend is a Jehovah's Witness, yet religion is rarely a topic of discussion. Perhaps the reason certain individuals tend to attract such attention can be found in the old saying "The Lord works in mysterious ways". Perhaps.
  21. More than who? People worth less than a million? OK, I don't have the exact stats. The book "The Millionaire Next Door" states that millionaires drive primarily Ford cars/trucks and have a tendency to buy used. In other words, they're much more likely to be frugal than what was previously thought.
  22. Does modern Palestine (since 1947) have a history of civil rivalries on par with recent developments?
  23. There's the formula for the Rare Earth hypothesis.
  24. Hey nmealtx - sometimes the counterpoint is so obvious, eh?
