Thanks Quade. Good stuff.

Does this qualify as a PA?

Well played. The article said it was to published in AHJ. I looked and could not find it. Need to brush up your skilz? American Heart Journal, Volume 152, Issue 3, Pages e25-e25 Pretty easy to post when someone else gives you the link, eh perfesser?

This is a lie. edited for clarification. Blah blah blah blah blah.
-
It was published in the journal that the report said it would be published in. If you didn't believe the report, why the fuck didn't you just search the journal like Remster did instead of bitching about it? Are you that desperate to have something to argue about? You seem upset.

Google. Use. Love it. You're comming accross as someone who needs everyone else to do his job. http://www.ahjonline.com/article/PIIS0002870305006496/abstract?kwhquery=prayer&restrictdesc_ymhj=American+Heart+Journal&restrictname_ymhj=ymhj&restrictterm_ymhj=ymhj&restricttype_ymhj=journal&search_area=journal&search_articletype=all&search_currenturi=http%3A%2F%2Fjournals.elsevierhealth.com%2Fperiodicals%2Fymhj%2Fsearch%2Fquick&search_datecombo=0%3AALL&search_dateradio=combo&search_discipline=&search_doi=&search_federated=no&search_issue=&search_keyword=&search_language=all&search_medline=&search_mode=journal&search_monthendcombo=jan&search_monthstartcombo=jan&search_operator1=and&search_operator2=and&search_preview=no&search_reqcount=20&search_reqfirst=1&search_resulturi=%2FBRAND%2Fsearch%2Fresults&search_s200=yes&search_searchuri=%2FBRAND%2Fsearch%2Fadvanced&search_sort=relevance&search_startpage=&search_submode=&search_text1=prayer&search_text2=&search_text3=&search_volume=&search_within1=all&search_within2=all&search_within3=all&search_wordsexactly=yes&search_yearend=&search_yearstart=&select1=relevance&select1=relevance&select2=no&select2=no&select3=20&select3=20 Well played. I wonder why it has taken so long for this to be decided by the courts.

The scientific consensus, based on peer-reviewed studies, is that prayer does not work? Got a source? here's one study as reported: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12082681/ In which scientific, peer-review journal was that study published? Proof positive that you didn't bother to read the article. Please cite where the article stated in which journal the study was published. Here's some exceprts from a NYT story. Another story stated" findings were not statistically significant". What does that mean?

Last year the US spent $528.7 billion on weapons? No shit? But DOD total budget for 2006 was less than $420 billion. That includes operating and maintenance costs for the entire military. Housing, new construction, etc. Why the discrepancy? Ask the WSJ. online.wsj.com/article/SB118156485110131084.html?mod=googlenews_wsj Nice dodge, chief. 1. Practically no-one who posts here has 1st hand knowledge (as opposed to hearsay) of any topic discussed. The question was "Why the discrepancy?" not "do you have 1st hand knowledge of these figures?". Two completely different issues. Why? Because you say so?

You've got to be kidding!!! Those aren't real quotes, are they?

I care because religion does nothing to progress humanity, in fact it hinders us as race and keeps us grounded in prehistoric beliefs.. Religion did not put a man on the moon, it did not find cures for millions of diseases (and im still amazed that people use the term “intelligent design”) religion did not get us out of the stone age and into an industrialised modern world, religion does nothing to progress the understanding of the universe and the world around us. Religion breed’s ignorance and intolerance, it creates suffering and abuse. Yes we can point to various religious charities that help the homeless, or the poor, and we all know someone who finds life that little bit easier with the social support that can come from religious groups, but really all of these can be accomplished with out religion.. Religion is nothing more then a wart on the arse of humanity, and the sooner that we evolve from needing this blind belief in various god and spirits the better we will all be. Like I said before religion does nothing but make you ignorant and dangerous.. CLICKY This post seems to go to the heart of the matter regarding why so many bear such a negative attitude towards religion. IMO it's quite myopic, concluding that there are numerous reasons to dislike religion, but only a few minor ones that show it in a positive light. These kinds of posts read like someone is looking for reasons to loathe religion/Christianity, while doing little to see the positives. Everyone is entitled to the opinion and for those who steadfastly cling to their POV, there's little that can be said to change their outlook, but for the skeptics who honestly want an accurate read on religion (and Christianity in particular) do a little research. Find out how much time and money is donated through Christian causes every year. Find out how many billions go to the needy and not for new sanctuaries or to pay church staff. Do a little historical research to see what scientific breakthroughs were made with the assistance of the Church. You might be surprised.

Is this a trick question?

And what was the last year we weren't "saddled with record debts"? Here's a hint - it was before you moved to this country. There's a good rationale for running up the debt faster than ever before. What rationale? Just pointing out that your claim of "... and saddled them with record debts" is really nothing more than an emotional handgrenade. Every year of the last six administrations the debt has risen to new all-time highs.

More Proof GWing Alarmists are Running Out of Time
NCclimber replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Ah, as soon as you show me the science I will consider it. Today however, all of the "science" I have seen is contrary to the the GWing alarmist position. And once again, a (I assume) liberal claims to be so smart as to know what I feel You best read and act on your own posts Are you a scientist? Do you subscribe to any real science journals? That whole "you're not old/smart/educated enough to understand" works on children and below average adults. To the rest of us, it just looks like a lame attempt at intimidation. -

I'm not sure how you can deny something that has not yet been proven true or false. My understanding of the word (in the context I think you mean it) applies to existing facts or conditions. More muddying of the waters? Who knows? Yeah. I started hearing these kinds of statements about 2 or 3 years ago, but definitely not back in the mid 90s. Perhaps you could produce some examples. -

Which Science is that? The Science of overall Global Warming used to supposedly (and somewhat dishonestly) prove the primary cause is anthropogenic? What a bunch of Bullshit! This little game of cat and mouse is so trite. "Oh, so you don't believe AGW claims? The science is in. The planet is warming. Why can't you see this?" "I never said anything about the planet not warming. I just don't think manmade CO2 is the primary cau.." "You deniers are so close-minded. Look at the science. Open you eyes...BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!! -

World Socialist Web Site? No need to second guess those guys.

Please show where I advocated "selectively providing" the antidote...other than my sarcastic remark that there should be some sort of test to be a parent. It's kind of the default setting: "You? Yer too fuckin' stooopid to breed. Get out and stay out! This also opens a pandoras box for social engineering - "We're sorry. We don't like the way your children behave. Your right to procreate has been suspended. Have a nice day"
