More relevant to this discussion - how many in this country? I'd guess the number would be relatively small.

All the while taking away the rights of the woman. You know... the slave owners of the 1800s felt the same way about their rights.
-
So why is it that the vast majority of the Prolife leadership is male? It is?
-
It would behoove him to date someone who also wanted children in that case. Get married.. have children.. isnt that what is supported by those on the right? I guess the same standard could be applied to women who unexpectedly find themselves pregnant.

This is bullshit!

Thoughts, wondering, maybe. Deep regret, probably not. Women who think about it seriously consider the implications and consequences. Wendy W. You just keep telling yourself that. Here's a survey of women who had abortions. http://www.afterabortion.info/survey1.html Some highlights Are you satisfied with your choice today? Not at all -95% Do you feel your decision was well thought out? Not at all - 74% Do you feel you had all of the necessary information to make the decision? Not at all - 88% Would you ever have another abortion? Not at all - 95% Were there any negative psychological effects you attribute to your abortion? Yes - 94% Was post-abortion counseling available through the clinic or referral agency? Not at all - 76% Knowing where your life is today, would you still have chosen abortion? Not at all - 94% Did the clinic, doctor, or counselor help you to explore your decision? Not at all - 84% Were you given information about the biological nature of the fetus? - 90% This two-part question is quite telling: What was your opinion about the nature of the fetus? no answer 4% human 26% non-human 30% other 40% What is your opinion about the nature of the fetus? no answer 3% human 97% non-human 0% other 0% If counseling a friend who was in a situation such as yours, would you encourage her to choose an abortion? Not at all - 98% What are your feelings about abortion today? (negative-1; positive-5) 98% chose 1 (most negative)

I think it is both. The rub is the chicken little hysterics want to put the lion's share of the blame on human activity. Seems to bes another manifestation of that whole white-liberal-guilt thing.

Yeah, let's make Nifong the victim here. Here in BIZARRO WORLD! How much outrage did you show over the wrongful conviction of Peterson? Any at all? Where's your outrage over the torture of black suspects in Chicago with no accountability in two decades? Or do you reserve your outrage only for prosecutors who railroad white college boys? Since I've been accused of offering a non sequitur reply, I'll address this post. Why didn't you actually address my criticism of you trying to make Nifong the victim? Your reply eas a bit of a non sequitur, itself. Can I get you a mirror? Now... to the fun stuff - How much outrage did you show over the wrongful conviction of Peterson? - Any at all? - Where's your outrage over the torture of black suspects in Chicago with no accountability in two decades? Please provide posts.... I mean ones other than efforts to minimalize the Nifong controversy.

What a load of crap. However, it does seem you are indifferent if it's white, male college students getting railroaded. Riiiight!

Rubbish, your God is not insulted, you are, and only because you chose to come here and read. Your beliefs are not owed any special reverence by others and further you are not being persecuted. I see Christians CONSTANTLY insult hard science & its proponents. America was founded by people fleeing persecution by Christians. You've got a nerve saying you're being persecuted because people exercise THEIR freedom to discuss anything they choose. It is difficult to calculate the numbers of heretics who were persecuted by Christian Churches, but for a lesson in real persecution, read a history book on what happened to the Cathars just as one example among MANY. Your self-pitying drivel about persecution is merely self-indulgent bilge su you & your fellow Christians feel good about what they must endure for their faith when in fact then endure nothing of the sort here, and certainly in America they endure far less than they mete out to others who "offend" them. Persecution.... snort! Now that's a PERSONAL ATTACK!

I'm more concerned with the nature of the crime. Assault is not the same as murder.
-
That will depend on the locals laws where this assault occurred. But why do you present your argument in such a manner that assault is not a serious crime? Assault is assault. And murder is murder. The difference is significant.

Who's rights trump who? Are the rights of the unborn fetus more important than the rights of the woman who is alive and carries this fetus? Considering it's the fetus who is getting killed, I think the fetus should have some protections. On a tangential point, if a women (8 months pregnant) is assaulted and her unborn child dies, should the assailant be charged with anything more than assault?

I've heard people say this before but can't seem to wrap my head around the math on this one. Care to explain? The trial and appeals process tend to drag on for a long time. If we could guarantee with a near 100% level of certainty, that the defendant did in fact commit those crimes, in the manner stated by the prosecution, I'd favor capital punishment a.s.a.p! However, we're finding more and more people on death row, who are getting their convictions overturned because they were in fact innocent.

No Touching in School - Even hand shakes, high-fives or hugs

Five... at least. -
What laws aren't based on morality issues? Tax laws.
-
It's hallowed,... as in "hallowed be thy name."

The obvious difference being Mnealtx's examples have an obvious ring of truth... -
with elastrators.

You're so suave.
-
I guess we could apply that rationale to heroin junkies or domestic abuse or sexual assault or strip mining or offshore drilling or just about any other topic where society collectively decides what's best for the common good.

When there is a spouse involved, the woman should be under a moral obligation to consult with her counterpart about the future of this potential life. But let's not forget the rights of the woman to decide her own destiny and the fact that we the male gender have been fucking over and controlling the females for eions. It's about time we start showing our sisters more respect and allowing them to decide the direction they want their lives to take. I didn't know cans of worms came in a variety pack.

I think if you don't own the uterus, then it's probably none of your fucking business. Agreed ... Why is it that the father of the inutero baby has zero say about it's well-being all the way up to delivery and then instantly he's on the hook for 18 years? I don't get how people can say - you've got no say about whether this baby lives, but if it does, then you're responsible???

Where's your outrage over the torture of black suspects in Chicago with no accountability in two decades? Or do you reserve your outrage only for prosecutors who railroad white college boys? I "reserve" my outrage for cases of injustice that I actually know about. And speaking of reserving outrage, here's a kallend classic: Don't confuse college athletes with college students. Different animals, in general. Not that your average college student is any better than your average college athlete. What's your take on the Duke Lacrosse Rape story? As bad as any other rape story. The 16-25 year old male, whether in college or not, does not have a great record where good judgment is concerned. So you think they are guilty of rape? Are you like the 70+ Duke Professors who publicly condemned the lacrosse team, based on nothing more than PC stereotyping? Guilty or not is a fact that I am in no position to know. I have no opinion.
