Too funny. Too fucking funny. Many years ago (when I had a greater appreciation for irreverance), a friend of mine dumped his girlfriend in ealy December... for all the obvious reasons.. you know... not really into her... why make happy when it's forced... time to move on. A few days later my girlfriend and I were out shopping, when we ran into the recently dumped woman. She was pretty bitter (and forthcoming), going on about "He screwed up" and "I'm the best thing that ever happened to Sam!" ad nauseum. I never really thought she was all that, but I sympathically smiled as she prattled on and on. That weekend, I was over at my dirtball, slimebag (I'm kidding folks) buddy's house and he told me he got a Christmas card from the former object of his affections. He had a bit of a smirk when he handed it to me. On the cover was a sweet message about love and forgiveness. Then I opened it. Inside, she had scrawled... in large jagged letters... with a red felt tip pen... MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!!! It's been about 20 years since that happened and we still laugh about it.

I think the stink is that Emanuel heard about these e-mails back '05.

Evolution and religion are not even similar. Evolution is based on observation and fossil record with mountains of physical evidence supporting it. And yet there are a number of vastly different theories on how life began on this planet. At best, they are educated guesses. Still, people have strongly held beliefs that life undoubtedly began by mere happenstance.... and that there is no way any higher power played a hand in all this.

Are you working on your thread nazi merit badge? Ha ha - I see you had to clip YOUR post to which this was my response in order to avoid an irony score of 10. That isn't a clever tactic in a forum where the entire thread is open for all to read. Keep trying, you'll get the hang of it eventually. I didn't include it because it was irrelevant to your nonsensical reply. Perhaps you could point out the actual irony here instead of making bullshit, hollow claims. Speaking of irony - it is funny that you come after me for going off tangent from "your topic", which was off tangent itself. How's that merit badge coming along?

Post #70. After 3 pages of debate in which you argued against the viewpoints of myself, kallend and Champu you decided that we were misreading (I took that to mean deliberately misunderstanding) you. Our arguments had been consistent throughout the exchange - why did you only then point out that you meant something different? Admittedly, I did claim you three "misunderstood" my posts. Excuse me while I wipe egg off my face. Getting back to the points being discussed, some of you have essentially claimed that because some Christmas traditions were adopted from other celebrations, they lack legitimacy as Christmas traditions. I think that is an idiotic claim and I explained why. Of course, Champu just said it was false and offered nothing more. Then Kallend said: It's a charge based on a lie. That's what caused me to respond with: This seems completely random. What are you talking about? Was the disrespect you speak of before or after he reportedly referred to neocons within the Bush administration as "fucking crazies"? You say he's a good man, but I'd bet you were calling him "a fucking neo-con" back in March '03.
