I want to make a dvd of a bunch of diferent videoclips. I have no clue how to go about that... Which programs do I use? I want a nice menu, with a clicky per clip and one for the entire dvd. And I want some nice credits. Also there should be some documents on the dvd, not sure if those should be html or something else. Right now I only make svcd's. For these I use premiere pro, photoshop cs and nero burning rom 6. I've also got studio 8 and hollywood fx 4.6. Any tips? ciel bleu, Saskia

I was thinking the same thing, but since I have a largish TRV camera I think it'll stick out a bit. I don't want my risers to hit my camera on opening... Maybe a 45o angle? Filming from behind & to the side? ciel bleu, Saskia

Never had a problem with it. From the BirdMan manual: Do NOT use a pull-out pilot chute birdMan manual here: http://www.bird-man.com/images/attachments/media/01_20_2004-Flight%20manual.pdf ciel bleu, Saskia

Last weekend we had another Dutch Swoooping Tour competition. This time Team Extreme's JC and Clint were here for coaching and seminars. Guess who won the competition For the video, go to http://www.euroswooop.com/dutch/IndexGallery.htm then click on the bottom video. A couple pics are on there as well. ciel bleu, Saskia

Cypres, Audible, Long Aircraft Ride (long post)
dragon2 replied to kjarv's topic in Gear and Rigging
From what I've gathered, at Höxter they didn't have audibles at all. The cypresses had been adjusted correctly however because the plane flew too low they were off. That's what I meant by a similar accident... ciel bleu, Saskia -
Cypres, Audible, Long Aircraft Ride (long post)

There was also a similar accident at Höxter, Germany, 2 years ago: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=176871#176871 ciel bleu, Saskia -
As always, ask your instructor before trying this stuff, but I've always liked this page: http://www.winddance.com/InfoPages/Articles/Starting.html http://www.winddance.com/InfoPages/Articles/Info_Articles.html ciel bleu, Saskia

Wendy Smith just started using a Sigma digital camera, sorry don't know the exact model... It only shoots raw data tho, so you need to use the included software to view and convert pics. A bit of a PITA but the pics I saw were nice. ciel bleu, Saskia

Heh heh one time our pilot wanted a go-around, just by the time it was an excellent spot for a guy who wanted to pull at 6 and for me in my birdman suit. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Lemme out! Luckily he did....

This weekend JohanW and I did a BM rodeo dive again, me being the rider, which went fine although the exit could've gone better. This was our 2nd time, first one went fine too. This is our first one on video tho

It's never a good idea to stack filters, so get rid of the uv filter if it is in between the camera and the wide angle lens. Some people use a skylight or uv filter for lens protection, so if it's on the outside that's a reason to keep it... It's way cheaper to replace that uv filter then the lens if it gets scratched. Don't know for sure the terms wide angle and wide angle conversion lens, I think a wide angle is what is used as an original lens (ie a 16mm lens on a still camera), the wide angle conversion lens would be a .3 add-on on a video camera. I think .6 should be less wide then say .45 but all this depends on which lens exactly and which camera you're using it on. Generally tho the smaller the number, the wider the angle. ciel bleu, Saskia

Rumour has it that this guy has been 'let go' at at least 2 other skydiving-related companies before this. Don't know the guy, myself, but maybe there's a reason? ciel bleu, Saskia

Every time I get to jump a new canopy I tend to to a hop&pop from 12k. My instructor: you can do a hop&pop from 5k too ya know, it's not so cold!!!! I love to fly, so I do CReW every now and then and I've fallen in love with wingsuits, too. And when wingsuit jumping I 'have' to pull high too ciel bleu, Saskia

email from Karel Goorts re: Vigil AAD users please read

Got this too, but on the email adress I have listed here. This (dz.com) is the only skydiving-related site I use this email address on, in fact I rarely use it, period. So, seemed this guy went thru profiles here... ciel bleu, Saskia -
The 00 is made for a 115/128 reserve (why not get the 128?) and a ~135 - 120 ZP main. See http://www.parachutes-de-france.com/us/parachutes/catalogue/cont_intro.htm. A hybrid 170 is a tight fit (Electra, Merit). I had a new Spectre 150 in my 00 for a while, couldn't pack it myself (at least within say 2 hours ). Now I have a Spectre/Tri 135 in there, much better. ciel bleu, Saskia

Helping low jump number skydivers
dragon2 replied to TribalTalon's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Not sure if this is the same everywhere, but I noticed getting invited on jumps seems to be somewhat easier for newbies if they also happen to be girls..... No fair, but true nonetheless... Not sure if I wanna know if cute guys have less trouble getting on dives ciel bleu, Saskia -
What I really don't understand is why everybody seems so worked up about 2 out. How common is that, anyway? My view is that is is much better to get a reserve that you will be comfortable with flying and landing in a stressful situation. Since it is MUCH more likely for you to be ending up under just your reserve versus ending up under both canopies, I think it is smarter to concentrate on that. I'd say, get a reserve you feel comfy with, keeping in mind that you will probably be stressed, maybe low, maybe a not-so-good spot, under an unfamiliar canopy, one not made for high wingloads, and take it from there. If you do get 2 out, which I think is mostly avoidable BTW, then deal with it. Maybe get some CReW training if you're not sure, a good idea even if you ARE. You'll be happy after that lineover to have a nice docile boat above your head BTW I have been in a 2 out situation myself, had my own personal downplane too so chopped it. I also have 3 other cutaways (one line-over, one spinner, and one intentional). But as always, talk to your instructor ciel bleu, Saskia

From what I've been told: I wanted to cut the corners on my Atom. So far it hasn't been necessary tho so I was doubting (why fix something that ain't broke). I very rarely get linetwists on my Classic2, and in 3 jumps with a S3 only once, 'cause of me being slightly wobbly. What made up my mind is that I jump a lot of canopies (I currently own 4) and except for the Lightning all have been/will be in my Atom at one time or another. If the main is slightly big, freeflying with it may become problematic. So I'm leaving the corners be for now, maybe when I'm jumping a higher performance suit it may become more interesting, or maybe not. But at least for now, don't need it. ciel bleu, Saskia

He would have been talking about the infrared remote then, don't know if there's a delay or not, but that one's not usuable, anyway... There's one D100 here with a remote plug build in (done by Nikon), looks the same as this mod. It works just fine! ciel bleu, Saskia

Are you sure you didn't tag something else in the process? That noise reduction is only supposed to apply to an exposure of more than...1.3s? It's meant for allowing cleaner night shots. Some value far greater than you're doing in the air. Hopefully it stays right. I'm not using it in the air at the moment; no remote yet. But no, I didn't change anything else, and I tested it again to be sure. It is caused by that setting...... Wierd but true. ciel bleu, Saskia

Ahem. I exchanged my D70 body today, got a new one that WORKED! YAY!
