***I get it though, a dig at the opposition, eh!*** Not really...its what you'll hear me say to anyone who uses a big comfort blanket/matrass for flying, where even the smallest of wingsuits would suffice to get the performance levels at which they fly.. Regardless if its Stealth2, Xbird or otherwise... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

A small testament to the Phantom2. Mike Steen Jumping Sputnik, Swiss A lot of recent jumps show people flying this line in insanely huge carpets. Look at the mighty things this tiny speed and distance monster is capable of in the hands of a good wingsuit pilot! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Any capable rigger will do a good job. Sorry to hear.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

we are talking about different subject, but agree on both.. If you suck at flying in a small suit, a bigger one wont make you fly better If you fly a small suit against its performance limits relative to a heavy frame, upsizing is the only improvement possible, and no skill can make it fly better. Relative to bodysize, more airtime also means slower flying for smaller wingloads.. Dress for succes JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

New video: FlyLikeBrick - Competition training
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I made a short edit, playing with slow-motion/time-ramps. Its footage from 2 training jumps for the wingsuit competition in Italy (next month!), and some footage from last years competition. I hope we manage to get more training jumps in before the actual competition, but couldnt resist already playing a bit with the footage. Enjoy! Check it on Vimeo JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
I think for some people its the other way around...and big suits dont compensate for little skills...and learning to fly a small suit, will get them more speed, distance and range than a big carpet will ever get them.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The older matter suits are known for having some minor inflation/pressurization issues. Flying the wings with more (sideway) muscle tension, to keep the wing tight, and prevent flapping, seems to improve the flying on those type of suits. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

With the new website slowly expanding, we have started to ad the coaches that have renewed their application. Why? You're posting more in skydiving and base forums than you have real experience? Its different sports, so why would a skydiver need knowledge of base gear? You're not trying to be a dick..you are being one.. You dont always have to post every brainfart you have to a forum. That advice coming from me as advice is a big thing.. Play nice man..we are a community, not a bunch of cut-throat pirates (or people just reading and writing about them). That said...glad everyone enjoys the editing. James and Robert (and I think also Jean-Noel) shot some beautifull footage... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Its going to be a great boogie again! Like last year, Macca and I will organize small to medium sized flocks, and offer 1 on 1 coach jumps and first flight courses to those tempted by the nylon. For those interested in having some cool video and/or photos to show of on the YouTubes, or look hot to that girl in a bar with video on your (I)phone... Join in on the fun! We will have the full PF demo fleet at hand for those wanting to try! Thinking about coming? Add your name to the list! 1. James McAlinden 2. Macca (LO) 3. Jarno 4. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Hi everyone, Slowly we (Boris, Macca and myself) are upgrading the new PF website more and more. Just yesterday we slightly updated the videosection and also added a new HD video treat, a short video called Taking it slow. Its a short film, edited for the FlyTheLine2 bonus features. With some breathtaking footage from the FTL2 DVD, rendered in beautfull 100 frames per second images, to a groovy music-track. Check it out here Other planned website updates include rigging (old en newer suits) tutorials, improved articles section and much more.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

any request or custom order is possible.. info@phoenix-fly.com is usually more direct than dz.com in terms of PF info/orders/questions JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Alex is keeping us up to date via the FlyLikeBrick Twitter Feed (also visible on our website frontpage). The first competition jumps have started, and the day ended with some balloonjumps. Sounds like everyone is having a great time.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Flocking can be done with good glide ratios and at bad glide ratios. When it comes to wanting to see something different than what you see other people do, lead by example. Dont just be a grumpy old grandpa commenting a football match allong the sideline..show us how it should be done... As to the original post, before it went off-topic in a (sangi)predictable way.. Congrats and welcome to the flock..mighty big wings.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

My CX100 fits the same space a PC8 occupied in a helmet from 2K composites. The newer ones are even smaller. Just find some people with new cameras and test it. But I think it should work. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

what altimeter to use? keeps triping canopy deployment.
mccordia replied to crazjeep's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I recorded 8 mph fallrates in my Stealth2....just make the flare more gradual, and it will record all the way. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
what altimeter to use? keeps triping canopy deployment.
mccordia replied to crazjeep's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Even flaring the altitrack seems to do great...and should (any) logging device incorrectly register an opening, just use a computer to check the graph... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
what altimeter to use? keeps triping canopy deployment.
mccordia replied to crazjeep's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Do the read-out via paralog, and just adjust the opening altitude to where it should be in the graph. On most logging devices CONSISTENCY (not flying a contant speed, but varying a lot) is the cause of wrong 'deployments' and not slow speeds. A flare (be it intentional or not) is usually the reason a canopy deployment is logged. The smoother you fly, the better the results (on any device). That aside, 600 or so wingsuit jumps on my Altitrack, and always logs untill the parachute comes out. L&B AltiTrack is what Id recommend... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
The terrain is just a generic landscape. An actual detailed terrain with trees etc is planned (of course) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

3D edition - International Artistic Wingsuit Competition 2010
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Last year, 2 teams competed with flyers who where close to novice/new. All skill levels are welcome, and even if you dont score, all the available flyers will gladly assist with helpfull coaching tips and fun flocks afterward! Barrelrolls and docks are really the only thing to practice (as most figures can be performed as one move, or two seperate steps...easier, though a bit slower..but possible for everyone..). pre-comp training and judging will also be possible, to help learn smoothing your flying out a bit! So by all means! Come by! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
