  1. From my experience (and several attempts at getting my suit the correct size), the pro-fly and ghost score a lot higher in quality and constuction (esp. sizing) than a blade. peroformance-wise, they are in the same arena Id estemate.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. I dont think he basejumps wingsuits anymore, and quit that around the area of the GTi due to a scare at Kjerag (2002/2003). JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. For the V3 the waitinglist is quite long due to the large amount of orders queued up. For all other suits, the typical wait varies from 3 to 6 weeks (depending on how busy it is). JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. I think the UK skydiver forum has more details on the balloon jumps. David Haygarth may also be joining in on the fun (depending on work). Gonna be sweet! We'll also try and put together a group of experienced flyers (meeting safe and spot-on 'formation flying' requirements) for the sunday and do an un-official UK "Most Awesome" wingsuit formation record. 5. And the fast forward button...dont forget that one... Long live Fast Forward! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. When flown right, all wingsuits fly with minimal movement. Its the speed that varies per model, but most of the actual flying when it comes to agility and smoothnes is technique...not design.. If people stopped marketing that technique as a design-feature, more people would fly without flapping their arms...regardless of brand.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Next step for wingsuit producers, should be to make them a bit more comfortable for women nicer to look at for us men, by adding breast cups to them. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  9. What about EG suits, FlyYourBody, Intrudair etc JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. The manuals being outdated, we are replacing these soon with more general user manuals aimed at the full line of suits (past and present). Teaching improves...as does knowledge..no use making old mistakes over and over again.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. I think its aimed at the original poster, cant wait to read his next work of art.. *grabbing popcorn* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. Students here (AFF/SL) are taught to always do a full cutaway/reserve deployment. Later-on, more steps may come into their decission tree. But having one simple procedure for emergencies (that has as many pro's as cons, when looking at low experience wingsuit pilots, and the added jump difficulties/actions in case of trouble) is something I prefer over hearing people talking about 'cutting wings in freefall' and 'procedure 1 for this situation..procedure 2 for this one...etc etc). I know my panties tie up in a bunch when I hear all the added (often not always correct) additions to standard EPs people come up with when you ad a wingsuit to the mix. But regardless of whats taught on ones basic skydiving course..I think we both agree on the same thing. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  14. With skydivingmovies.com sadly gone, a lot of older (often non WS) videos of mine are no longer online, so I decided to create a website for some of the fun, old stuff (mostly freeflying, so not FlyLikeBrick material). So here I proudly present www.mccordia.com The first two video's I've posted there both contain some wingsuit stuff from quite a few years ago, and watching them brought back a lot of memories. I met Darren Bull in Empuria that Christmas, and I jumped with him in Spain, Belgium and the UK a lot of times. He was a frequent poster on dz.com (Zoter), and I think I speak for matt hoover and other video editors when I also say he was part of this small circle of guys 'competing' in a friendly way over who could do the coolest edits from skydiving boogies and events. Pushing me to come up with better videos every time I made one. Darren was the first student I ever tought to fly a wingsuit. And it was with great pain in my heart, when I heard he had slipped on the exit point before/during a basejump, and is no longer with us.... A video thats not pushing any brand...not fueling any brandwar..and not pushing any ego...just showing people having fun in skydiving...in freefly and in wingsuit.. Here is to many new friends I may meet along the way...and friends long gone who made me experience things I couldnt have dreamed of before I made that first leap of faith out of an airplane door.. Long flights...safe flights...and enjoy every single jump and flight you make.. This one is for Darren...missing you man! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Can I be cool to? I'll make pretty video's (only in slowmo, instead of speeding them up). hahaha JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Not this year, around mid 2011 most probably. But there will be some other (major) new product updates done to the full pf line before that... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. No..the correct procedure is, and always will be: Try once.. Try again.. Cutaway, Pull silver Canopy emergency> cutaway main/pull reserve (leave the cables alone). There is no freefall emergency where you'd use the cutaway cables. The wingsuit does have some added difficulties and additional procedures, but the skydiving basics related to pull and cutaway procedures are always the basis. And you dont change, add or mix additional things into that simple emergency procedure. Also do note, you should always go for a complete cutaway. The release of a reserve canopy can decrease the tension in your container, releasing the main, while you are already with a deploying/deployed reserve. The only situation where you'd use the cutaway of the armwing is in case of a zipper-jam, or stress/emergency situation under your reserve where the zippers may not be easily accesable (like flatspins etc). In freefall, releasing the armwings only adds a lot of additional potential problems, such as partial release, trailing material that could cover handles (especially reserve/cutaway) and on bigger suits, a large amount of drag that could only add to the instability, instead of fixing it. Keep things simple. Use your basic skydiving emergency procedures, and dont start mixing things in that have no place there. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Its a side issue, but Ive seen more people do similar things reaching for handles. You are reaching for a handle with your arm/hand. Bending your whole body, bending your neck, de-arching or bringing knees forward will not do anything to ease the search your right hand has for for the hackey. People have ended up tumbling forward, frontlooping through risers and worse things have come from that. Keep flying your body, use your hand to find the hackey. Usually a slow and deliberate move is much more effective than a hasty, quick and stressed grab made in panic. Which brings me to point 2. Like normal skydiving. Find your pilotchite, if you cant find it. Open up, Breathe, and try again. 2nd attempt. STOP searching! Dont end up going low, or tumbling into your lines in your quest to find or acces it. Do what you where taught on ANY skydive, use the handles on the front. Cutaway> Pull reserve. The rule: Try once...try again...pull reserve if you're out of time. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. get a double-sided suction-cup from an aquarium store, and stick your gps to the airplane window during the ride up.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Ive jumped Sfly's several times, and with the L fit, never had an issue. One jump I made in an M sized suit (slightly tight) resulted in extreme difficulty in reaching my hackey, due to a tension-line/fold the suit made between hand and body. It felt like a steel cable was keeping my hand away from the pilotchute. A proper fitting suit is a must for easy acces at pulltime.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. Ive seen some mighty fine beans...and those beans may be spilt a lot sooner than expected... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. He actually flew the suit for the first time there, and is new to the 'big suits' as well. And Alex has also had his Stealth2 for a few months only. In his Ghost and Phantom he is also doing 99,9% of skydiving, and never comes up short in performance. You're talking about max flight performance, where you DO use and need a suit like this. But normal skydiving and a lot of other flying. No.. That aside..when it comes to comparing flyers..you've had your suit for over a year. Its not always the bow..often its the indian (a popular phrase here these days..). Ive been flying the suit for a lot longer, and can also do slow, fast, flocks and regular freefall in the suit. But still I dont fly the Stealth2 every single jump. Im talking about selecting a tool for a purpoise. And Ive done 90% of my last 200 wingsuit jumps on a Shadow/Phantom. And only on weekends like the coming one (Marl) Im grabbing the Stealth2 again. As there is no way Ill even come close to competiting with anyone for max freefall times or distance in a Phantom. There I need a Stealth2. Again..dress for succes. I think you'll like it. And I hope you understand what Im trying to say. Im not dishing people who own/fly a Stealth. But just saying: Even though you have a Stealth2 (I have one, and love the suit) or other comparable wingsuit, its not the best suit for every single jump you do. And in skydiving (when not doing solo performance jumps) you'll notice the P2 is all you'll ever need in terms of flying. or S-Fly or similar performance class wingsuit. And especially for very light people, a big wingsuit can actually hinder their flying more than it helps..wingload vs bodysize... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. And to add, I fly a big suit A LOT as well. But I use it for jumps where I need it (flocks with only big suits, flown max) or canopy flyby/relative stuff/time jumps at competitions (Marl this weekend). But when it comes to flocking, aerobatics and a lot of other aspects of flying, there are suits that (in terms of output in performance) are capable of much more than what people do with them. And even than, a lot resort to oversizes/under-used wingsuits, that actually hinder their flying more than they help. When used right, with a lot of experience, big wingsuits can do awesome things. But for some people smaller suits will get them the same flying, only much cleaner, and with more controll and speed (not talking glide ratio, or distance...but talking wingload). Again..dress for succes... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Regardless of what...its the fact that (especially in flocking) a lot of people fly suits that are way overpowered and in some cases completely wrong for their body size/build. But I understand Im offending some big suit flyers here JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. If you have the wingload...again, similar to canopies. It shows they should have spent the money on jumps, instead of the big suit. A lot of things are also more difficult to master in bigger suits. And especially for skydiving, unless you're a solo flyer, or only jumping with a select group of awesome big-suit flyers, most people dont do ANY formation flying/flocking that even comes close to needing anything more than the starter to mid-range performance suits of each manufacturer. Again, Im not critisising people who choose to fly bigger suits. But its a horrible, horrible misconception that you NEED one for everything. Especially in skydiving, I see a lot of people constantly 'upgrade' to bigger and bigger suits, and (most noticeably lighter people) FIGHT to keep up with the forward speed of formations. A bigger suit, also ads more drag, and if you dont have the bodyweight where you need that added surface area, its just better to buy and fly a suit you will always fly in the 75 to 90% range, instead of a huge carpet that is only flown max at breakoff, and is used as a hammock for the entire skydive... comfort blanket...
