Im also not out to get anyone. But if s you post data with certain (incorrect)observations and comments, dont bash people that take that kind of data more serious in terms of analysis. This dicipline is full of records, amazing performance claims and more. Its refreshing and aplaudable that Jeb also provides the data to back it up. Be it needing a bit of work to correctly interpret that same data. But dont bash people that dont agree with every company/self promotional post made if the data shows something else... I think the wording on the facebook/dropzone/bjumper forums/website read very different from the last message you write here. Nobody is beating you down for the fact that you're not the fastest man on the planet. They are simply saying the conclusions you draw based on the numbers you posted are not fully correct ones when it comes to the stuff you write... Id heavily recommend you do attend some of the performance competitions, as most people dont attend those to learn how they rank compared to other. Most people go there to further learn, understand the GPS tools, data and (based on how other fly) learn to improve their own flying. Both Hungary and Germany (Gransee) are competitions where you'd learn a ton about those aspects of your flying. It would change it from 'trying to understand what its saying' to 'understanding what its saying' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Which is what I said....diving to get the speed. Not actual sustained forward speed in full flight. I think anything preceeded by a dive can be concidered a flare. The fact that you dont push it to a stall-out doesnt mean its not a dive/flare. Ive gotten up to 7:1 glide ratios after diving, and the flare after a dive can easily last up to 40 or even 50 seconds before the suit finaly eases back into normal/sustained full flight performance. Its all incredible vallues, but with extreme peaks due to dives its hard to impossible to quote the numbers as overal vallues for 'fast' or 'slow'. The Venom is a slow carpet as well, but when diving you can get 200 mph forward speeds out of it. Does that make the suit 'fast'? Peak vallues are incredible fun to quote, but far from fair/representable numbers on performance. Be it with the dive 'poluting' the results, the paralog performance competition is (I think) the closest we can get to getting 'some' numbers on sustained suit performance (your score is also in there). If we would make a seperate competition, that didnt allow diving and perhaps used a larged competition altitude (3,5 km to 1,5 km) we could actually get the numbers people could quote as sustainable performance. But interest for that one seems low, and the marketing related high performance numbers are always much more fun to throw around That aside..the balloon stuff is cool. Any specific reason for that one? As I recall seeing a tethered balloon setup as part of your landing project as well to guide you to the landing area/angle? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

a 3.5 glide is not uncommon after a 30 second dive to to get to the crack...? Seems like results pretty much comparable with other big suits. Picking up speed when diving, but in general the 'fast' comes from the dive preceding the flare/transition to full flight. At least thats what the graph is showing... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Robert never uses the Bell-Vue. He uses a fixed mount. Same position, but limited to front/back. Similar to the Bell-Vue with regards to the mounting plate, but it doesnt use the ram-mountsegments in between the plate and camera. I usually have the camera angled a bit away from my body, meaning its also pointing up a bit, catching more of my face ('you're so vain' playing in the background). The swiveling Ram-Mount allows for a lot of varying directions in which you can point the camera. You'll find a lot of these shots spread throughout a lot of the vids on our Vimeo account. This one especially has quite a few at the start. Lens/cam on most is a RayNox 0.3 with a CX100/105). I do have a custom-made leg mount, similar in design (same ram-mount connectors) which I use more these days than the belly mount. Mostly related to easier rigging. (also used that in the 2010 Zflock video a few times) and less fuss when putting the suit on. In terms of using it under the suit, its a hole with two bits of overlapping elastic band, creating a fabric vagina through which my nob easily slips out...(did that sound wrong?). Warning: Jumping leg/body mounts will make you the aim of sooo many jokes on how much you like seeing yourself, how you dont have friends to film you etc etc. But they are always followed by a wispering 'where can I order one' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Neeh..I tried that humor in kindergarden a few weeks back, and got arrested. Now I just display my sense of humor in that 500 meter circle around the school where I am allowed to go without being arrested... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I know many have been attempted. Many people tend to go into "I remember when XXX did this and that" and turn it into a 'who invented what' thing. But cold...hard...video.....dont think anybody has done anything else but TALK about who did it But can guarantee people did it, or tried it....but video almost never matches the stories JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Definetly the more fwd speed the better. I do see the larger suits tending to be flown more on the arms, suffering from lack of glide. The higher the speed forward, the more minimal you can be in your steering inputs. The slow fallrates almost automaticly follow when a good glide/performance is flown.. If you go by the dictionary, everything including normal freefall can be described as flight. That aside, I think its always beautifull how you manage to get the most negative interpetation possible out of positive words other people mention. I clearly see Butters say he prefers flying at his top range (most likely flocking in the high 40's). Yet you somehow seem to take that the opposite, and automaticly asume he mentions freefall. You where the one complaining before about 80 mph flocks. Maybe jump with Butters a bit more...kid sure knows how to fly at speeds where the suit you wear actually has a function JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

"Marko Mike" Memorial Wingsuit Boogie & Competition - Hungary
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
For those coming from abroad. This competition and the one in Gransee are only slightly over a week apart. For sure a great way to combine 2 of the leading performance competitions with a bit of sight-seeing around EU. Several people attending Hungary will be driving back to Holland and/or Germany after, with (no doubt) places to spare for tourist from across the pond who want to do a bit of sight seeing and later join in driving to Gransee! I may have to skip the trainingday, but will try and make it for the weekend itself. Loooong drive...but will try JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Had seen that...great combination of rotoscoping and 2D animation. Very stylish! Though loved the second hand-animated part more than the intro (which felt a bit to much like watching real traced/rotoscoped footage). Incredible stuff.....couldnt resist being a bit critical as well JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Lets skip the whole suit debate...but do agree that the best flocking happens in the 75% to 85% range. Not 50% (which is 'middle' if you take the words from a professor). Ive seen and done jumps with people flying the smallest of suits at 75 to 80% which made some of the people in huge suits comment 'man..that was fast' showing its more a case of people settling to much on a certain (often low) performance range.....not learning to truly fly their suits... The key to that statement is 'when flying'.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Skip the formations, and focus on 2 ways playing with speed, level and docks. That will teach you so much more than only doing formations. A wingsuit bigways, in the end, is nothing more than a 2 way with a dozen or so added people causing a lot of distracting variables that make it harder to focus on your own flying.
