  1. Divers=altitude=speed? Its always easy to cut an arguement down with black/white views. There is more in between flying at 40% or 100%. 85% to 90% perhaps? I do....they often choose to wear suits and/or lead that puts everyone in the same range/speed somewhere in the midlle, as opposed to everyone bringing enough lead to match the fastest or balloon suits to match the slowest. Again...very black and white....but yes..people who shouldnt be on a record (if the word record is to mean the same thing in terms of skills-validation as it does in FF or FS or CRW) probably wont make it to the formation. What you're talking about is mostly fun....if you want to be productive, you have to be MUCH more selective. Again...seeing the caliber of people who DIDNT make it on FF and FS bigways. Im shocked to see 20 jump wonders fly at mediocre levels, yet meet the current record standard some countries uphold.. For that matter, these 'guess what's wrong' threads are bordering on lame as hell, If you have a beef with something,*** Thats right...silence those people who dont think we should keep doing the same thing over and over again, without an eye for a higher standard Again...great pix, loved the videos. But for sure hope the coming years dont just bring us bigger and bigger formations, but actually smaller and tighter... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Not related to this event, but maybe thats a signal the group should be smaller, and the organizers more selective. I see a lot of 'sorta nice' 30/40/50 way etc stuff happening in wingsuit that could be 'fucking awesome' if they did the same selective cutting that freefly and FS organisers use. No other dicipline chooses to fly at the level/speed of the lowest performer. I know a lot of good freeflyers got cut from the EU and World records, because they could not do the fasssstt speeds the group was doing on the record. The fast speed was appearantly key in getting enough fast/smooth air through the group. I severely enjoy watching bigway flying. But think we as a dicipline could grow a lot more if we would choose to tighten the flying and raise the general skill level, over going from a 68 way to a 100 way....the number always seems more important than the actual level of flying. Again...not linked to this exact thing...more an observation of bigway flying in general... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Is there.... Patience my friend.. You could fly a size smaller, and still fly fine....it would improve flying accuracy/agility a lot... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. I think the jump went offline, as the person giving her some tips on flying didnt want to turn a jump she didnt upload herself, turn into a big thread of critique. But related to the buffeting/rocking in her Ghost2, I dont think a low WL was the cause. Overcorrection, and not maintaining a relaxed body position probably lead to that... 5. How would you know? Someone briefed, and video-ed for feedback on body position afterward sounds like coaching? Just not first flight coaching. But agreed, at the 20ish jumps she has, that Ghost2 was not the most recommendable suit in terms of learning/progressing quicker. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  7. I use the same Sony CX105 for skydiving (in Dbox) and (free)diving (modified Hi8 housing). Old underwater housings for clunky videocameras from back in the days, often easily fit todays more modern/small consumer cameras. You can somertimes but these older underwater housings at bargain prices.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. The '2 step' action described is not realy one Ive ever used/noticed. Its one smooth move/pull when I deploy, even though the pilotchute is lodged in there tight/secure. A simple brush past another jumper during freefall, exit or inside the plane can take any skydiver by surprise. Premature deployments have happened to the greatest of skydivers....nobody is immume to situations like that. Situational awareness or not, its not always under control on climbout etc. And even a pilotchute/BOC in pristine condition comes out easier, when brushed past in the 'right' direction. The more secure 'locked' position the pilotchute has when using the ff pud as intended, for me, is an added bit of security I quite like and can recommend using. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. With the greater risk we have of dislodging a pilotchute skuffling through a plane like special-needs children, Id definately recommend always tucking it in. Ive used freefly puds on my previous wings and vortexII containers, and stil do on my Vector3, without ever any issue. Especialy when doing acro/docking and close proximity formation flying, its a vallueable safe addition to your skydive.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. Invitational is a bit of a big word in this case, but everyone will be put in groups that are for their experience levels. So vertical formations will not have people with 15 wingsuit jumps in them, and back flying groups wont have people that are 'trying to backfly' etc. We're planning on doing dives similar to these among other things JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. This is the initial devision of suits we made. Only EG suits we where a bit clueless as to what suit should go where, so input there is always welcome. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. The past competition in Gransee had similar catagories. With roughly 100's models around if in all shapes and sizes, its difficult to pin each one in an exact category. For the suits that are in between both categories (which is roughly what we have the Ghost3 and similar sized suits as a guide for, in terms of what suits to to the bigsuit/carpet range) we will offer people a choice as to which exact category they want to be in if its realy undecided. In general, we're using the wingsize/wingroot not reaching the lower leg as a guide. But for sure, we will have a few cases where its going to take some open and joint figuring out which suit goes where. We'll try and post a more complete list soon... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Im planning to arrive a day or so before the competition starts. Aside from the performance flying, the biggest interest/focus wil be organizing some challenging multipoint flocks with DSE, Robi and myself. This is also the type of event we want to more push for the future. Not the same bigway static flying stuff again and again. At the moment Im also looking at most likely not attending Zflock, but actually trying to set up a US version of the Artistic Competition at Elsinore with Spot/Robi for sometime start/mid-season next year. All just in the phase of throwing around ideas, but doing something different from the past years.... More as we brainstorm allong..:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Tell that to anyone who has been traumatized by watching someone femur in, and having to stand over your mess. Let alone the 100 other dangers your immature behaviour adds to other people. This clearly isnt your sport...you lack any form of responsibility and vallue for your own or others lives... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. VB I applaud your effort, but from what I got said jumper did fly his canopy. He proudly sent me a videostil from a camera he also shouldnt be jumping. Its a shame people dishonestly ask for a lot of advice just to get attention, and live a life online with dz.com and youtube posts showing how awesome they are for doing stupid shit. Yet they dont see they are gloryfying their own stupidity and thereby shitting on the good intentions and friendships with people they have been asking for advice (with no intent to follow up on it). Thank you for waisting my time Sangi. I truly hope you dont lead other jumpers onto the same 'no skills, no patience' road of shortcuts to a fatality you're seemingly proud of taking. Be proud of the gear and low jumpnumbers you listed in your profile (though you cowardly changed it back to a bigger one after reading this thread). I blocked you on skype. Never dare ask me anything again. I know of better ways to waste my time....and dont want to be part of your immature, impatient, sad attempts at showing of and taking shortcuts with possible lethal concequences... Id so had hoped for a bit more spine/brains... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. Are we moving back in the door inch by inch till someone yells 'thats it!'? Its quite obvious in any case, but typicaly rear is where you fear having a student collide with a tail if they jump to much. Aside from all other obvious points (Coach not controling student/exit position/timing) that are more controlable in all other positions (standing/sitting/front float). Next to the Coach potentialy burbling the student in the exit when that one is on rear float (as I saw in some FFC videos where the coach was more busy with his 'backfly exit showcase' than his student safety) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Seeing two very good pilots trade their GTI in for something in which they could stay with the flock, Id say yes. One with 500 ws jumps went low/back on his own 1000th jump in that. Perhaps in 'legs on butt' flocks a gti works. But normal flying ones. In my experience, leaves a GTI far underpowered. Perhaps 1k to 4k wingsuit jumps of practice works miracles, but not in the jumps/flocks Ive been in, and for sure for beginners far from doable.. Doing an FFC and investing in something more lasting would be my advice... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. In terms of armwing, maybe. But legwing (drive) is almost double the wing. On the flocks and speeds I see most people here cruise, a GTI would for sure have a beginner trailing low and behind. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Sounds like most of the bigway 'records' flown so far as well as the level of experience on some of the 'invitational only' vertical events. Dont see why you should be flamed for that? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Its not so much about 'more fun' as making the suit last longer. Going for one of the current intermediate range wingsuits, and learning to fly that well you will have all the range you need to fly in formations at any speed as well as doing aerobatics, backflying, docked stuff etc. Doing a first flight course, and than with advice from the coach and perhaps one or two jumps on various models, choosing the suit you want to fly for the coming years makes you skip a lot of expensive 'upgrades' some people try to advocate when trying to build people towards the biggest and most expensive suits they can sell you... Im flying an intermediate model wingsuit myself and at over 1000 wingsuit jumps am hardly ever flying anything else... Though a GTi may be a nice option, many people sell them for double what they are worth, and you can often score good 2nd hand intermediate suits for around 450 to 500 that wil last you a lifetime. 22. That comment wasnt aimed at you, but to 'anyone' who willfully makes a list without checking to 'help' people. Personaly, I dont care ablut the legal side of things. I guess its just different ethics/thinking. Id prefer anything I recommend on my/our website to be safe when it comes to instruction and new flyers. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. 300 to 400 often gets you newer suits if you look around. P1, Prodigies etc. Several friends of mine just bought mint condition classics and GTIs for prices of 100 to 120 euros. Its gear thats 8 to 10 years old... Id say 400 is quite steep.... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Im only saying (again) if you list someone as qualified to teach. Make sure they teach by a safety standard YOU stand for. If an ass with 20 wingsuit jumps lists himself as an instructor, and you allow him that listing, you are the one forwarding him students. Potentialy receiving shit coaching, of which we've seen sad to lethal results. If you dont care, OR choose to stand by that list...regardles of skills in flying or teaching...thats your choice. I vallue fellow skydivers higher, and wil only forward them to people I KNOW are capable of teaching. Regardles what official or unofficial teaching methods used. Its the quality/safety one should stand for, not list just anyone because 'uspa rules say they can' Use common sense, ethics and some personal interest in other peoples safety...please!
