  1. Forget all that silly judging stuff untill its properly figured out and 100% functional (IPC is working on that). Just focus on flying good formations, and getting them as tight as you can fly them. Looking great so far! Really good flying guys! Ive emailed you, with Tom's adres (the programmer). I think the last version stopped working (date limitation) but he should be able to hook you up with the latest version, which uses the circles to measure the distance/tollerance. 2. Thats really cool... Though many people claim to be climbing, Its only in these insane highspeed dives and mega flares we actually see the results. I think Visa was the first one to also register (I believe) an 8mph climb after a similar dive about a year and a half ago. And now seeing Helmut and Oliver do the same, its quite cool. But its also quite obvious the diving and flaring they are doing there is so much faster and 10 times more agressive than what we're seeing in Matts video. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. This is a nice comparison that shows you really should dive into the actual physics a bit more before making these kind of claims. There are quite a few differences between a flare from normal flight, and an exit from a moving object (aircraft) The initial velocity (downward) when doing a highspeed exit from an airplane is zero. Meaning the jumper doesnt first have to pull out of his normal flying speed, to get his downward speed down to zero so he can transfer the energy (the full airspeed the airplane is doing) into upward flying. Around 30 mph is a sustainable flying speed for a big wingsuit, but to get up to the speeds needed to actually have enough energy built op to flare with that power, the downward speeds will be more around 150 mph. And the diving speeds used to get flare speeds down into the 0 mph range are WAY past what we're seeing in Matts video. The tracks shown by Matt show a lot of sharp angles, meaning missing waypoints. The track I pointed to earlyer from his Eiger jump shows a climb directly after exit, but also allong the track has several points that are higher than the previous one. Meaning (according to the GPS) he had several moments where he went up. Lets hope that here it takes you less than 10 years to figure out you were wrong JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. Check the tracks Matt posted here to see him climb straight after exit... GPS data is not an accurate science. I see climbing 'relative to the angle of the terrain' in that video, but think you guys are putting a tad to much work into this one, in terms of whats actually happening there..Ive seen several 'climbs' in some of the videos I edit for PF, but none where actual climbs.. Moberta, I have no need to bash any suit, model or make. If anything Matt seems to do that himself on his website in more recent posts...critisize him for it...not me.. 5. Not related to any brand oriented thing, but those flares are all after 150 to sometimes 180 mph dives straight down. I'm not sure thats the kind of diving speeds he's doing here. Matt posted GPS data of his Eiger jump showing similar gain in altitude, but directly after exit. The angle of the terrain makes it hard to judge the actual 'climbing' angle. Again I have no doubt people can climb with any type/model wingsuit, but here just am far from convinced simply because these kind of GPS errors show up more often, and the dives/speed far from match even the most agressive of flares in the PPC database...added thermals or not. Ill stick to just the video itself being an awesome one to watch. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. I think you would have acomplished more and received mutual respect with a normal and more friendly form of direct contact. See me after the competition, send me an email. call me. You dont seem to want solutions, improvements or contributing to the competition working better next year...but merely complain about it with an audience.. In your first post you insulted me for post-comp giving prizes to friends or people who attend 'my events'. That may be how your mind works, but for sure not how it worked in Gap. It was decided before knowing any ranking. Nor is it a nice thing to accuse someone of. Perhaps your tone is the answer to the violent replies others gave you. Communication lacked in that decission. But for sure its not your strong point either.. I hope you feel better now... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. We've also seen tracks from the eiger showing the jumper first climbing 20 meters after exit (I think that was also Matts?)...the angular look of the track suggests its more likely an issue with a less accurate GPS reading than an actual climb. For sure, positive angle of flight can be possible, but even 150 mph dives in all of paralogs tracks with V's, X's, Apaches and more, dont show a climb or even a second of possitive lift after much longer/harder diving... I suspect this is just awesome video and flying to watch...for which Ill press play once more in a second The video doesnt need the funny GPS data to impress...
  8. To second what Alex sais...as I also appologized for...the ball was dropped in terms of communication on my/our behalf, regarding what was on the website. Next year we wont announce any prizes ahead of time, so hopefully everyone goes home happy... I hope to stay free of such public lashings in the future.. It was a big (BIG) effort to organise and run this competition. Some things didnt run smooth, but Im happy weather, the judging, the jumps and everything else wasnt part of 'what went wrong'. I also hope matters that DO arrise can be handled in a more constructive way in the future.. A communications error was made, if your discounts for deepseed/PF are useless Ill gladly buy you an altitracl Daniel....Know we're trying, and its nothing personal from this side at least... 9. Again, if the team had a complaint they could talk to the organisation DIRECTLY. None of them did aside from Patrick. Who was a gentleman in communication. I see here its more important appearantly to throw mud than to actually talk about it. I DID talk to Patrick and his Spanish teamates at the end of the competition after I was relaid rumors and than had Patrick come up and tell me about his team-mates complaints. And I explained how and why and when it was decided. I never saw BB team after the awards anymore, nor did they bother to talk to me. I truly dont get whats wrong with everyones multitude of commucative options that this has to be done in such a sad, negative and public way... I would have given my own altitrack away on the spot had it been a PERSONAL talk to anyone instead of namecalling behind closed doors and hear-say... Again...I have several functional email adresses...if anyone wishes to talk about issues they have with the organisation thats where Ill gladly answer them. I can only appologize so many times for trying to make everyone happy with the prizes we had available... The organisation (wich isnt just 'mr jarno cordia') would love input about the actual competition and organisation...its a shame this complaint is all that seems to be communicated to the world.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. When did you talk to me or email me about it? Ill gladly reply when you do..this childish, negative and public accusation you post here is far from what Id call civilized behaviour.. Im sorry the prizes you got are not what you expected...as mentioned, before the competition started they where devided more honest over all places so everyone would go home happy. Id rather have seen this handled personaly, talked to me in Gap about it? Emailed? But you didnt do any of that. You choose throwing mud, namecalling, and acting very rude... Email me your adres and Ill BUY you an altitrack myself.... Shame you choose to soil your teams image in such a way. Its not about WHAT you want to tell me. Its about HOW you choose to do so... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. They'll be in there with a lot of video...its great flying...worth watching for sure..for me that's unrelated to any issues suggested above here... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. With all the focus on the things that where wrong, Id have rather seen this public forum used to thank Hans, Patrick, Loic and Kathy for putting a lot of work/effort into judging. The scores fully reflected the flying, and definately showed the rules/dicipline maturing a lot compared to the last few years... Cant wait to be done with the video with the 'best of' from all teams (longer 'full' video will also follow)...its quite amazing to watch! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Aside from this altitrack issue, I should have all videos/scores edited and online in a few days. Hope people enjoy the flying..it was amazing to watch during the comp. Sorry to see this issue pop up online, upsetting you to the point of not performing next year. There wasnt any personal reason for not adding the altitrack to the 1st prize. That decission was made before the competition started as they got replaced by big WS discounts. We even added all 6 altitracks to the prizes while originaly only 3 where intended to be handed out. info@wingsuitcompetition.com is a working email adres in case you have comments or questions. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  14. Im sorry to hear you guys where not happy with the 3 x 50% discounts on new suits, and the 180 euro Crystal statue you won (as one of only two intermediate class teams). Also quite sorry to see you seem to not have my email adres and put this stuff online in such a way. Its weird I never heard any of this from you or any of your teammates direct, yet only through other competitors and random people online you complained to. The prizes where distributed more evenly than the '1st gets all, 2nd only gets a Tshirt' method originaly listed on the website. Its a shame the announcement on the website read different beforehand (related to the altimeter you seem to vallue highly) but it was decided to be more fair. I hope next years competition will be more to your liking...appologies on my behalf.. Id gladly had done this face to face had you told it to me like that as well.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. And the full video is finished! Special thanks to Eli for flying camera, and Hans & Spike for flying base! I really enjoyed past weekend, cant wait for the next one! Enjoy! http://vimeo.com/28060095 JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. The footage so far is fun to watch when its stuff within 1-2 meters of the camera. Anything beyond that and the depth is lost. Mostly useless for skydiving (formations etc) beyond perhaps filming a tandem or another solo hanging close in front of the lens. But a lot of distortion allong the edges of the image due to the wide angle. If I had to say anything positive about the Gopro 3d, its that they came up with a great way to sell 2 cameras and an extra expensive box instead of just one... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. We just had a great weekend of flying with a small group of UK, Belgium and Dutch wingsuit flyers (Spike & Jackie, Paul & Elana, Costyn, Eli, Hans, Bassie, Bavo, Bart, Benoit and myself). After most people spent the last 3,5 weeks traveling through-out Europe to boogies in Soulac (FR), Gap (FR) and Siofok (Hungary) we managed to squeeze in one last weekend of fun flocks. We did 9 group jumps with a lot of fun point flying. Im working on a full video with both inside and outside views, but couldnt resist already showing one of our fun jumps by posting the rough video to my YouTube Enjoy! More later! Thanks to all peeps who came this weekend! p.s. Not my packjob JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. Also had fun with the Flocks after the boogie! Doing a readout of my AltiTrack, I just discovered the stacked flock we did with Gregory as the base on my back was my 2000th jump! Jay! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Try www.paralog.net/ppc/ Glide-ratio (without wind) is roughly max 2.5 (across all brands/top suits) if you look at the overal scores (avg instead of peak results) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Didnt know spindoctors had made their way into wingsuit marketing yet I was simply commenting on the fact that Jeb must have had 100% faith in that guy diving for the dirt...brass balls... No hating, no negative stuff about brands...though for sure playing underdog is a proven method to gain sympathy JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Haters? Simply stating Jeb would have given him a close shave, had he not ducked down, has little to do with that.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  23. I have had some oscillations during very agressive flares (I think in almost any suit/model), when I push the braking of speed past a certain point (usually pushing arms a bit too deep or sinking knees in very deep). Im not sure the deflector is part of it. I actually think without it, the effect could be worse..as now some air (when there is a lot of air forced agains/under the body) bleeds through the hole, as opposed to it all having to escape left/right of the body...causing wobbles.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Confirmed Teams Defy Gravity - Russia Fly Like Brick - The Netherlands Bad Boys - Spain Aquila (formerly known as Team lueless) - United Kingdom Team Colibri - Germany Turboperros - Spain (Intermediate) Easy Team - Italy Bad Birds Schweighofen - Germany S-Fly Factory Team - France (Currently Nameless Team) - The Netherlands/Belgium - (Intermediate) Kara-Birds - Ukraine, depending on VISA approval - (Intermediate) Easy 2 Fly - Italy, waiting for confirmation, but most likely there as well The Belgian "Oxygen" Sadly dropped out of the competition We may have one or two more French teams. So 12 to 15 teams total this year....slowly growing and growing bigger... Shame we have no USA flyers this year..hopefully next edition.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Ive had the suitbin steep/fast dives with agressive pull-oits into flare/full flight, and never experienced that. Robi and JNO do the same in basejumps hugging terrain, and also have smooth flying showing every jump. I suspect the cause is related to perhaps stalling (to heavy pushing down of the armwings)?
