Im also not talking about diving to the flock. Guess you haven't done any actual angled flight with your suit? - Read my post again - Try and actually understand what I wrote. - Book a ticket to France and see/experience for yourself Steep angles/low glide isnt always a bad thing. Only when its legs on ass/using wingsuits as camerasuits... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Which was also the point Butters made, glad you finaly see the light... Suit performance has improved with 1/3rd the last few years. Yet flocks still fly the same poor glide ratios... That said, I think the speeds and fallrates at which trackinsuits fly in the above picture, are a lot more than what any good tracker can accomplish, and better than the 1:1 mentioned earlier in the thread. But for sure....many people own big suits, but hardly fly them. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

It's a piss-poor glide ratio, but can still be a bunch of wingsuits flying legs stretched/full speed. Yet at a steep angle. A canopy doing agressive diving is also doing a piss-poor glide ratio. Yet its still flying for sure. Thats something whole other than a round sinking in at the same angle/glide. The actual angle and speed at which the people in the flock fly definitely matter. Though those faster angled flocks usually leave the bigger suits lagging behind. As there suddenly drag starts to matter a lot more... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Robert Jones already did a nice job flying a prodigy in a large flock with suits the size of kingsize beds.... And though the other way around, I think this picture shows the speeds flown in trackingsuits can exceed what we see in some current day 'big suit' flocks in terms of speed (judging body positions by the flyers) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Its a thing people either love to complain about, but hate taking about in terms of solutions. And its a thing people brag about, often without showing the actual flying and performance. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Why are you attributing butters comments to me? You're the one who replies with and than puts someone elses words on my account as a professional spindoctor. Yet Butters comments do make sense when one reads back page after page of serious questions asked about flying, none of which you ever gave any answer to. And again....quote less... Like you do with your Yawns? You hate Butters/Tony and follow him around on this forum like a scary stalker with discussions that never have answers, and selective quotes. My post wasnt a cheap shot. It was an actual suggestion to not waste 500 quoted characters on a post where all you add is . JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Could you quote less of previous posts...makes it easier to skip the non-answers you typically post.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Yea...thats why we switched base, and put a small suit up front JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

US Performance Competition - Acro Invitational (November 2011)

Same here! Im bringing extra comp units from EU so we have plenty of GPSes for everyone! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
The jump where you flew base in Hungary was 85 MPH down at only a 1.2 Glide. The jump after, where Grisha flew base on his back was 56 mph with a 1.9 glide. I say the Hungarians got the Finish beat by a large margin. Ive seen a lot of nice stuff (also from Fins) at boogies around EU, but the stuff constantly refered to from Cochsted '08 seemed to mostly be long stretched out flocks, with a base flying ballistic speeds, with only a few people barely reaching their slot, and most (including the camera) chasing far behind. If there is any video I missed during debriefs, Id love to finally see it online Scott. As it's talked about by you so much, without ever showing. There is a happy intermediate between ludicrous speed and freefalling...but its often hard to set, and keep everyone happy at the same time. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Kris..actually arch, and if that doesnt work, ball up (grab your ankles) next time. Its not the backvents making recovery harder, its 'user error' See you in a few days, and will gladly help you 'get on your back' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Due to bad weather on sunday only 17 our of about 25 jumpers got to make jumps for the competition and several jumpers only showed up on sunday to watch the clouds pass us by within touching range (and eat pancakes). It was the 3rd time we resceduled the event due to bad weather, and luckely we managed to finaly fly, be it with a few missing participants in the Intermediate catagory. Several flyers with only a few jumps showed amazing results, as well as several top flyers in the Intermediate catagory getting close to the 4th/5th place results of the Unlimited/Open catagory. Great, great fun! We had a lot of great prizes thanks to FlySight (Europe) and Phoenix-Fly. As well as fancy glass awards that for sure will look sexy in any house. The DZ threw an amazing end of season party with model and life size hot-air Balloons, snake/crocodile and acrobatic shows, a live band, amazing dinner and much much more. Attached are the results. We'll be organizing this one again in May 2012, at the Belgian dropzone Zwartberg. Hopefully see all Dutchies and Belgians there again! Thanks everyone! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The fit of PF suits is ment to be form-fitting and snug. If you choose the winterclothing options, measurements will be made with room to fit thick winter clothing. Unless you jump in norwegian winters a lot, the normal fit is recommended. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

p.s. Again missed answering the question: How many wingsuit jumps does Jerry have. I know plenty other amazing FS/FF skydivers who suck balls when it comes to wingsuit flying JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

'just don't go there' is bad coaching advice either way if you're asking for actual, practical tips that help change/improve someones level. No matter how big anyones name is in the sport... I would say Jerry Birds quote falls more in 'stating the obvious' when you (talking about you, not Jerry) don't seem to have a real answer.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

What I ment was...it would be like making a Phantom with integrated rig, while switching to a V3 or V4 would seem like a much easier/less complicated way to get a much bigger increase in performance. Doing such an integrated rig on a suit design that (by itself) is at the maximum of performane possible seems to make a lot more sense than on smaller intermediate performance models. How many wingsuit jumps does Jerry Bird have? Or is this one of them inflate-able ducks again? If we (like you also do with physics) interprete Jerry Birds awesome advice the wrong way, should we than also tell AFF students 'just don't have a malfunction' instead of teaching them EPs Again...VERY interested in an actual answer, instead of commentary from the balcony of the muppet theater JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

You don't really loose them if you consider them 'pixels you would not have shot anyways, if you had recorded in 16:9 directly'. The 4:3 setting is one most cameras include for action povs, where 16:9 would cut of a part of the action. It may shoot a large part of screen you will cut in editing, but for analysis and learning, those extra pixels can come in handy. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

A flatspin is just a scary made up name for instability/tumbling people don't fix as quick as they'd like to.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Just scale it to where it fits? It just means you loose a few pixels on the top/bottom. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

All rules just talk about 'camera' no matter what size....its till a camera... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Only in the way that you need to take small steps when progressing. But it differs from downsizing canopies in that most people would not need anything bigger than the suit they start on. Where a 190 or 170 canopy may not be the canopy one wants to fly for the rest of their skydive career (and it may complicate things with wind etc even if you have a wingloading thats too light), with wingsuits its the other way around. And the upsizing some people do, actually makes them slower flyers, and sometimes leads to light people not even reaching the formation. They fly the same glide path, but at way slower speeds due to the large suit. The bigger suits also react more sluggish and have cross-input between legwing/armwings due to the longer/lower wingroot. Bigger is far from better in most cases... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Make a good 50 or more jumps to get current on freefall and go way/well beyond, show yourself to be a safe jumper, and Ill gladly be the one who takes you up for your first flight... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
I always dislike it when they advertise a product (like the current GoPro2 promo) with a lot of awesome imagery knowing a lot of it is the result of hours and post processing. The promo now on their website has a great deal of footage slowed down beyond the 60fps the camera is capable of (with noticeable artifacts/smearing of the image in some bits). Jebs footage from China is clear and vibrant here, while it was quite muddy and yellow-ish looking at the orginal broadcast (though granted, that footage is shown at lower resolution). If you advertise a new imager/chip. Show the footage directly of the camera (similar to what was done with the first 5D Mark II footage when people complained about the quality being the result of tinkering).
