What amazed me most about that new PD movie, is the cliff/peak he flies by/over on the end of the clip. When he came of the snowy slope, I thought...no way in h*ll he's gonna fly over/past that peak..no way in h*ll he's gonna fly over/past that peak..no way inhhOOOOLY SH*T he just flew over/past that peak!!! It's like he was in a realy steep dive to stay close to the ground, and at the end he levelled out, and almost stopped loosing altitude... freaky...(but cool:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I did my research alright :) I went to www.henson.com, found a great picture of kermit the frog, drew a cool kermit-tatoo and had it traced/put on my arm... When people are explaining their tribal tatoo's/chineese characters with complex deep stories, I just explain mine with "You shouldn't take life too serious" And yesss...I'm a certified idiot... I learnt that going to the DZ when you have no money at all, doesn't make you feel any better about not being able to jump :) But I managed to pack a few chutes, and do a low hop&pop and buy a Happy Meal© from the money I made... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

If you're doing solo's, you're probably last out, which in Ampuria means...open higher if you don't want to land out. Jumprun is long, and teams sometimes take ages in the door. So if you're out last. Before jumping, check how far out you are, so you can open at an altitude that gets you back.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

If there's anough people that want to jump, a guy at our DZ (Holland) can basicly make it happen anytime you'd want... Our club actualy made 2 world records last month (30 ppl from a balloon, 20 ppl launched at the same time) You'd have to make a trip to holland though :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
I'm looking for a new camera, and although camera-jumping is stil at least a year or more away (experience-wise), I would like to buy my camera with the thought that I might use it for shooting video in freefall sometime later... I have my eyes set on sony as a brand, and have about 800 euro's to spend... Anyone have any good advice on which one to buy? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I'm quite interested in how it would be if this was the other way around. If a 'drunk' person, setting up for a normal landing gets hooked from the sky by some hotshot (who's without any alcohol), and they both survive with masive injuries. Would do the 'drunk' person (who didn't do anything wrong in terms of flying a normal patern) have any case against the guy hooking it in (and causing the accident), or the other way around, could the guy hooking it in, sue the other guy for being 'drunk'? How's that for hypothetical JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think it's easy to point the finger at the student, but I think the DZ is at fault here too. Although the student should know better, the DZ owner (or at least the JM) should also make sure EVERYONE has had a pincheck BEFORE boarding the plane. Stuff like misrouted cheststraps, ADD's that are not turned on and other stuff should be caught BEFORE boarding...not during a check on the ride up. Still, you see people go up without a decent gear-check so often....I don't get it...it only takes 30 seconds, and can prevent soo much trouble from hapening. At my home DZ the designated JM always makes sure everyone has had a pincheck before boarding (he doesn't have to give everyone a pincheck, but he does have to ask everyone if he has had one) I realy liked Borki (Russia, near Moscow) where it was the DZ owner himself who did gearchecks on EVERY person that went to the plane. Find someone with a digital video-card that can capture in PAL (a lot of cards can do both NTSC and PAL capture) Then, use adobe after-effects to do a 2:3 pulldown to NTSC (basicly doing a 25 to 30 fps conversion, and adjusting it to the right size.) Then just output it to normal NTSC (or NTSC DVD) If you pay for postage, you can also send me the tape, and I'll convert it to NTSC Video-CD/S-VCD for free and mail it back... A good way to see your horizontal speed is to do a 2 way, and seperate a little higher (5000 or so), and ask your buddy to stay in his spot while you track away. Just track to 3000 ft or so, and you'll be able to see (between your legs) how fast/far he's moving away from you... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The first matrix was cool, but one of the cooles opening segments has GOT to be Indiana Jones and the raiders of the lost arc! (and the Last Crusade coming in at a close second:) And how about Always...with that Catalina aircraft coming in for a bite of water, nearly hiting the two fisherman in a boat.. I think it's actualy hooks on the shoes that catch the bridle....it doesn't appear to wrap around the shoe or anything, it just stays hooked to one point the moment it hits there... The video's that are a few directories up (several SCARY ASS HALL low-pulls) scared me waayyyy more then this one... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
