Who realy misses the skydivingmovies ftp :) Every friday at work would be a party...after 16:00 I'd spend a whole hour surfing for skydiving movies and watching them..preparing myself mentaly for the weekend to come... I'd be hogging bandwidth at work with skydiving stuff, while the rest of my collegues would be doing the same thing, only with porn and movie-trailers :) It always made me happy.. PilotDave....we misssss you!!! (and thanx for the great service!! It made me happy so often!!) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Like there have never been any US terrorists.. Heck..the guys that flew into the WTC where trained at a US operated (Dutch owned) flight-school.. Why not invade the US, because they trained terrorists...and nuke holland because they where also involved... ..no matter how much fuss is made about weapons...the one and only reason for this war was, is, and will always be OIL.. Fine by me...the US won...everybody happy (accept a dozen or so widows and family)..but don't lie about what started it all.. If safety realy was the biggest concern, the US would have invaded Korea... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

What might be handy is to do a jump where all you do is trying to fall in a stable pull-positing (one hand on your pilot/pillow) because a front or backflip is something you definately don't want to have hapening again during pulltime... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

wow...congratulations... I hope to be there too someday... But where I live you already need at least 200 RW jumps and a C licence before even concidering taking a video-camera up.... I would love to do video someday, but I'm nowhere near the experience needed to do it... Gues different countries have different rules... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Although it's rarely mentioned, recordable CD's/DVD's actualy don't have the 1000 years life that everybody wants us to believe. I also find that often used DVD's (especialy recordables) are way more sensetive to dirt ans minor scratches, then any wear and tear on a videotape can ever hurt your video... Tape would also be my advice... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think a rig has this sort of tent-canvas type of smell. It's verry recognizable, and every now and then I smell it somewhere in town, and I get all itchy again...:) I have a a lot of smells that go with skydiving. Freshly mown grass/mud, and diesel smell (driving behind a truck on my motorcycle) all makes my mind wonder....:) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I never had any problems with my wrist untill my boss gave me one of those mouse and keyboard pads. After 3 days I just threw it aside, because my wrist was killing me. I gues it works wonders for some people, but for me it sucked bigtime. Making sure your arm rests on the whole table (so your not moving the mouse from your shoulder) is also something you could do to prevent rsi. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Can skydiving be a family thing???
mccordia replied to steve1's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My brother jump(ed), my nephew jumps, and my father wants to (but my mom won't let him) although he did do a tandem already..:) and my sister also wants to start jumping..... My mom is the only one I'll never even get into a plane...let alone getting her out at 12K :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

I have yet to look into what I would want, since it's not 100% sure he's gonna do it yet. But it will probably be something like a Merit 160/170 or so... I'm sooo hoping he'll go for it... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I have a potential sponsor, and he is interested in buying me a parachute with his company logo.. He wants an example of how something like that will look. I want to make a photoshop composite of his logo on a white parachute...anyone have any good pics (high-res if possible) of a nice white canopy (in flight, seen from below or the top)?? Help...! I'm a total loser when it comes to programing or GPS, but here's my 10 cents. I use 3dsmax quite a lot. It's a commercialy available 3D program. You could write a MAX SCRIPT that would take numeric data, and transform it to points in 3D space (with a spline/path on top of the lines) From 3dsmax you could export it to anytning from vrml to dfx (autocad) or cool rendered animations (in 3dsmax itself) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

This is such a childish response. "I don't like you, so I'm not gonna play with you anymore" I hope your mail was a joke, cause DAMN...you'd be one childish bastard if you ment that! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Motorcylcle helmets are made for 'facing' winds. If you put on a motorcycle helmet during a skydive, the wind will blow into the neck/colar of the helmet a lot, and probably bring tears to your eyes...:) Next to that they are quite bulky/huge and it looks silly. Try BMX helmets and/or snowboard helmets as a cheep alternative....not full-face though... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Just post his mail-adres and we'll all mail him questions like "Are you that pussy that doesn't dare to skydive because his momma won't let him" :) If I would get 10 cents for every time someone writes me off as a suicidal maniac for skydiving, I could jump fulltime from that money...:) Don't even bother trying to explain how everything works...just give him a big eyed stare, and snif loudly while saying "I just love the smell of death" and in between that ask him where he lives and then walk off gigling like a girl..... 100% sure he won't bother you again after that (or even get near to you) It's much more fun this way.. I actualy had the most wonderfulltime with a Whuffo in the airplane from russia to paris last week. A 45 year old canadian was sitting next to me and asked about my holiday. So I told him I went skydiving, nothing more..and he basicly spent the whole 2,5 hour flight explaining skydiving to me from his whuffo point of view. Basicly taking all the info he had seen on TV and making it one huge story. Miltairy HALO jumps with birdmansuits from cliffs that you can try without any training in the grand canion was one of the many gems he told me.. Totaly 'un-me' I never corrected one thing, and just enjoyed the whole story with a lovely smile...never had a better time... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Actualy, skydivingmovies are my 'porn' :) All my collegues get the question 'you downloading porn again' if the internet is slow. I get the question 'downloading skydivingmovies again?' And somehow everyone labels me as 'the sick one' for that? Silly world we live in :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

first 3 way - matching fall rates - need advice please
mccordia replied to Newbie's topic in Relative Work
If the low guy isn't too far gone it's probably easyest/safest to all go down to the low person. But if you too where supposed to stick with a coach/organiser and he decides to just continue the dive without the 3d person it's also okay I gues (as long as the low person doesn't stay below you 2 untill opening time) Had a fun 7 way, that built to a 5 way, which funneled due to a torpedo-docker and ended up with us 2 (the base) just running the 7 way points together untill it was pull-time...the others already tracked off at around 6000 ft because they didn't think they'd make it :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Damn...I just watched this, and this gave me a bigger hard-on then any porn I could ever find online (although, if you have suggestions, they're always welcome) If this comes out on DVD I'll be the first to buy it! And I would love to see those wingsuit ski-slope pics... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The whole worlds will download and share these files, and on dz.com we'll put a list of all the real filenames and content :) hehehe JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

2 new skydiving (world) records...
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Weeeee!!! 30 (mostly girls) from my home DZ have taken bacl 2 world-records previously owned by our club!!! Translated from the Dutch news: The worldrecord jumping with as many people as possible from a balloon is in Dutch hands again. Twenty daredevills from Paraclub Flevo in lelystad acomplished this above Markelo, Overijsel (Netherlands) by jumping from the worlds largest hot-air balloon. The record was held by sixteen britts untill this day. Around seven this morning the record was set, after the skydivers had taken off around six in the morning. They had opted for this early time because the attempt would only work in a calm atmosphere. After the record was set another 10 skydivers jumped from the same balloon. 30 skydivers jumping from the same balloon was also good for another world-record. According to chef-instructor Bob Draaijer from paraclub flevo, the conditions for making the mass-jump where perfect, and the jump was excecuted perfectly. The fear that clouds would spoil the attempt never became reality. For the record, they selected all the lightest members of the club, so the balloon would not lose too much weight after all the skydivers had jumped. the Britts will not get their record back for a while. To better the dutch record they would need the biggest balloon in the world. "And we own the biggest on at the moment" according to Bob Draaijer. A Swedish company did order a bigger balloon recently, but it wil be a while before it becomes available. And if the record ever gets broken, they'll just give it another try. Click the attached Realvideo file to see a (dutch) report on the jump. It was on TV and in the newspapers a lot, and almost all reports only focused on the cool/fun aspect...no 'death/stunt/sensation' reporting...while you would say that something like this would be easy to sensationalize (but I gues it was already sensational enough). It made frontpage news in the dutch newspapers..:) Congrats to all those
