  2. Anyone in EU going to the Xmas boogie at Empuria? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Yuri, coming from someone who usually exits at 2K (or lower) that might not be a tip everyone should follow hehehe Another story... I just heard about a french wingsuit cutaway, where the jumper wanted to cut away his main. And decided to chop his wings first. In doing so, his mind told him he had performed a cutaway already, and after chopping the wings, he went for the reserve-handle straight-away. Everything ended well, but it made me wonder if anyone ever heard anything like this before ('confusing' the pulling of your suits cutaway-handles with your rigs cutaway-handle?) 4. Then swing by Holland sometime if you're in the neighborhood! That was actualy me, backflying out towards the see...and andy shaking his head like a madman (LEFT IDIOT, LEFTTTT!!!) and me thinking...'wow...he thinks I'm cool...he's giving me head-shakes' And on one other jump, J-Lo decided to check for the color of his reserve-chute (2nd reserve in 1500 jumps, his first staticlinejump being reserve #1) and the whole crew landed out to find his gear and give eachother a group hug You know we´ll only use our superpowers for good...so we´ll lay low...but whenever theres a plane with an open door...we´ll be there! Russia would be great.. Cya next summer (hopefully)! Cheers! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. Yea..that was great! Trust me...If you ever need a piece of meat in your mouth, Andy is definatley the man to go to! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  7. How about making it more like a contest? Where you have to come up with the coolest stunts possible to entertain the crowds. You could situate it all at a/the bridge, and just focus on aereals, pulls, weird combinations. People throwing a pilotchute over and over 7 times (before 1 persons pulls and then deploys for the person whos pilot he is holding etc) Throwing pilotchutes over and over whle including flips etc. Adding things like a pilot getting caught in a burble or on someones back You could even add a swimmingpool with a diving-board for practice (and make it a 2 player game ofcource, so you can practice together:) And tracking jumps from the bridge (maybe make it 2 or 3 bridges ranging from a couple of 100 ft, up untill a 1500 ft bridge, for diff. stunts) and have people do stuf like catch 2 balloons in freefall or fall/track through hoops etc. You could even go as far as making the water underneath 'bubbly' so people only go for a swim and break a leg when they screw up (not to make it a 'dying' game) and after 3 failed jumps you get excluded from the "Go Bull" contest :) If you need a modeler/animator...just howler JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. I've uploaded a new video of the Texel Island Boogie to www.skydivingmovies.com Six and a half minutes of fun flying above the beautifull Texel. Andy Ford did load-organising...we had a blast! As soon as the video is approved I'll ad the link here! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. 'the new wing' would be the tail-add-on? Quite curious what that does for the speed... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. I'm quite interested in the glide-ratio... Anyone GPS a GS1 flight yet? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Cool video! Screaming by JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. I was just thinking how cool it was that Wingsuit flying in the skydive enviroment hasn't resulted in fatal injuries yet (resulting from direct use of the suit) Good to see someone working hard on changing that!! If you wanna be cool...hold a no-pull contest and land the f*ker JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Stand in between to people with an imaginary sidemount (camera on the left) Now look to the left and film the back of the head of that person. Piece of cake. When you look at his ear, your camera will have the back of his head in frame. Now turn to your right, and twist your head as far as possible to see that persons back of his head with the cameralens. When you look at that persons ear, your camera-lens will stil be pointing towards that persons face. To see the back of his head you have to twist much further.. When someone is flying next to you on the right, with a sidemount, you'll be filming the ground underneath if you don't overcompensate a bit (in terms of what your line-of-sight is seeing) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

    Again!!

I thought the S3S has mylar standard in the wing deflectors? The models I've seen did, at least. Or they were very stiff at any rate. Cheers The deflectors on the S3S don't have any mylar-support ribs, it's just a stiffer material.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. I ordered one 1,5 weeks ago. Cant wait untill I get it.. Seems like a great all-round helmet for wingsuit/freefly/tandemvideo
  16. Yea...sorry...should have seen that... I'm Dutch you know...Been sniffing tulips and cheese too much probably... I'll go polish my clogs now in shame.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  17. Is that MTR suits they're flying? Can't wait to see more... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  18. I was wondering if anyone had experience with this? Does the resistance of the blow/bit/suck/sqeeze-switch wire pose a problem when trying to 'mod' a digital photo-camera? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. When it comes to editing skydiving footage one important feature I value in software is the ability to do frame-blending/interpoleration/deinterlacing (turning 50 fields p/s into 25 frames p/s) Certain editing programs lack this, and as a result have horrible jerky or blurry slow-motions. But what surprises me is that everyone comes up with different 'industry standards' while 'the industry' I work in is a collection of about every piece of editing software that's out there. When I look around me, I see Media100, and about an equal distribution of FCP and Premiere Pro, and then a small group of people using Avid and misc. other packages.. And then there's the home-users group, where Ulead/Pinnacle studio etc. are also used quite a lot..(next to FCP and Premiere) If someone is 'serious about making a living' with editing etc. he needs to use software he or she can work with...be it windows movie maker, final cut pro, premiere, avid or editing frame by frame in windows paint.. I'd skip on the 'try to be cool and get what everyone else is said to be using' and choose whatever seems workable and simple to you, and then invest your time in learning to edit (and by that I dont mean the Tech issues of editing, but decisions on your actual CONTENT) Just try a few different packages, and then see what you like... In the end, nobody can spot what editing package you used (unless you use a ton of weird title effects that come standard with certain packages) and the only thing that counts is how well edited your final product is... Working with timecodes and EDLs is supported in most editing packages nowadays. I've worked on several dutch 35mm feature films which where edited on a variaty of editing packages. Mostly depending on what the editor prefered. I've seen FCP, Media100 and Avid used (all without problems) and I'm working on a 35mm short at the moment, editing in Premiere Pro. The industry-standard is not so 'standard' when I look around... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

    Again!!

Yea, but that would take the fun out of powered body-flight, and turn it into some vague felix-esque thing, with a complete glider on your back Don't know...rocket-boots with wingsuits sounds cooler to me JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

    Again!!

Sweet...I think the video mentions an exit altitude of 2 KM, and opening at 1,5 KM. That's 2 minutes of flight in 500 meters of freefall...awesome..!!!! Especialy the 30 seconds of completely level flight..this would probably open up a whole new bag of tricks on base-jumps Now remove the parachute, and install a keg, filled with fuel :) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. I wanted to go with boxing-gloves, cause they are so nice and warm...but I guess that idea goes out the window now JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. If you do this without also trying to fly 35mph avg it should be possible? People can do 200 mph ground-speed in a normal tracking (at a 200 mph fallrate:P) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. 1:00 AM, tired..working tomorrow...weird question popped in my head before going to sleep Just something that had me wondering a bit.. Imagine wanting to fly a straight line back towards a DZ, once you are way, way past it in the airplane. What kind of exit would get you most distance/speed or otherwise, least loss of altitude from your exitpoint? Doing a normal exit, facing the wind, flying the propblast straight away, and taking a quick (or slow?) turn, so you take the forward speed and momentum from the exit, and keep that? Or would an exit, facing the tail (where you initially lose all speed, and then 'start' the forward drive powered only by gravity...) be better? Put different... If two flyers (same weight/suit/skill blablabla) exited at the same time, one did the U-turn thing (flying at a good speed straight away) and the other did an exit facing the tail. Who would go further? (if they flew the rest of their flight at the same speed/fallrate) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
