Sweet.. I booked my flight to Empuria (45 euros, holland to spain and back) Going to be there from december 24th untill jan 2nd. I'll be freeflying with friends, but anyone wanting to flock just howler! (I have a red/black/white rig, with McCordia sewn on the MLW, cant miss that) Jumping with wingsuits during the Xmas boogie is no problem, the only limit is that you can only flock from the Porters, because of mulitple loads dropping at the same time from the other AC. There wil be 2 porters present, and next to those there wil be 2 twin otters and a Beech99 for all the other fun

In terms of camera-life/protection, I'd go with a helmet that houses your DV camera inside, or get a good D-box. Seen to many ripped off visors/record buttons/LCD screens and lenses, and cameras with moisture glitches... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Where 'the flying panthers' got the idea for wingsuits....no clue.... But I had no part in this sadly the wingsuits where made by a Dutch rigging loft (Caroline Suits) just for the show (cool that they actualy went through the troble to find a rigger, as non jumpers) But it wil all look like crap compared to our secret film project Costyn JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Some explanation/examples here http://www.richardrosenman.com/dofpro_batchsamples.htm This is from a plug-in/piece of software, but in photoshop, duplicate your layer, then draw a greyscale depthmap, and use that as an alpha channel for that layer . then blur that layer slighly (gaussian blur works okay, but 'lens blur' wil look more realistic) and you'll have a nice fake DOF-blur JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I'm also a big Pelicase whore :) I usualy go to and from dropzones by motorcycle, and they are great in protecting your cameras from bumps, rain and would probably even save your cameras if you where to throw it in the river JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

You can shoot your entire image in focus and then create a black and white depth map (manualy) in photoshop, and use that to determine your focus...but 'real' photography wil always look better JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Having been on a skateboard standing up at 30 km/h driving of a hill (standing up) I wouldnt want be on one on my belly doing 100 + km/h hehe But come to think of it, if they get more powerfull engines it would probably be possible yea, since flying level is already possible :) Would hate to have an engine quit on you just after take-off though (or run out of runway before taking off) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

An easy way to increase that ratio is to fall faster without the wingsuit. Or compare the amount you pay for a jump to U.K jump ticket prices . Unless you jump in the U.K to begin with ofcourse. Kris. I gues freeflyers probably get the best increased/cheeper freefall times in a wingsuit yea. I was still thinking RW, with those 'longer' 1 minute freefalls As for UK jump prices, I think the 27 euros we pay in Holland for 12000 ft probably comes quite close? You need to go to the clips effect properties, and then use the 'scale' function, and scale the clip (probably slightly over 200%) If you get weird horizontal edges, you may also need to deinterlace the clip (clip>field options>always deinterlace) How come your captured video is only 320x240? This is not a standard size for video-editing/capture? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

In all seriousness, I think a big search-cut-paste-and-edit of all the posts that have been made in the past to topics such as these will get us quite a complete list of information for a sticky topic such as that one.. I think some info on 'preparation-jumps' for people 'wanting to get into wingsuits when I have enough jumps' will be especially nice... p.s. I just thought I had heard it refered to by people as 'birdman' before it became a commercial dicipline... btw. I recently found this cool site on Patrick, which has his great airplane re-entry video (is it available in a resolution in which you can actualy spot what is happening btw?) I thought proprieretaerepetyy epoxy was when a brand-name became the common name for a range of products (such as paracetamol, luxaflex etc.) Am I wrong when I say that the 'dumb-peoples' naming of the dicpline 'birdman' comes from the orginal birdmen ('the Yorkshire Birdman' etc?) and didnt orginate with robbert and jari when they came up with the name for their company? I agree, a good example of a proprietary eponym. I don't think so.. Bird-man inc. didnt come up with the name. It was a dicipline called 'birdman' first and then became a brand-name. And if the current trend of calling everything 'birdman' originated from robbert and jari's combined effords in pimping birdman as a company from the beginning, or orginated with the 'birdman pioneers' is what determines if its proprieretaerepetyy epoxy JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think to the majority of the (whuffo or non-wingsuiting)public it's stil birdman flying. I can see (brand-wise) why it's less interesting to you, but I think that most people (outside the dicipline) see birdman as a type of jump, as opposed to the manifacturer..*runs for cover!!!* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
