I understand that part, but I usually dont have time to check out the surroundings or sunset when Im chasing people...wouldnt a steady and predictable flying base do a much better (safer) job at that? This game of backflying tag sounds like something for a 2way, with a not 100% predictable flight-path. Exactly the kind of situation that could lead to someone loosing the base while 'watching the sunset' and repeating the dangerous incident that was talked and discussed soo much the last week..? No clue what type of dive you're talking about? But it sounds like 2 people being all over the sky on their backs, playing with each other with a bunch of people wanting build a flock darting all over the sky trying to stay with them? Sorry if I sometimes get lost in all the hip pooping lingo.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

O2 access I think it comes from their freefly suits that have a tight option, but can open up the sleeves for extra drag/surface (re:O2 acces..) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Convert HDV (wmv) 1440 x 1080 with DivX
mccordia replied to Mikki_ZH's topic in Photography and Video
Not all media players encounter for other pixel aspect ratios. Resising your video to a 1:1 pixel aspect ratio ensures everyone watching the DIVX video sees it in the rights size/format. 1024x576 is a common format used for internet clips..(if thats what you're compressing it for) For webclips, its also recomended to get rid of interlacing. Wings wrapping around reserve - possible or not?
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I hear many people say this, but when encountered with a spinning main which still has a chance of recovery, the first thing most people do is unzip and try and untwist the main. If you realise its not going to work, the cutaway is the next step. But in most wingsuit cutaway videos we see, people give the main a try first, and thus unzip wings. So doing a cutaway with unzipped wings is something that could definately happen to many people depending on how good or bad a twist (or other, initialy low-speed malfunction) is. In the incident mentioned (though Ive never seen any official reports on it), the larger burble wasnt mentioned as a cause. The wings holding the reserve container shut where mentioned as a cause. Aside from maybe burnmarks on the wing and or pilotchute/bridle (havent seen or hear anything about that) I couldnt really see how this cause could have been determined, and was therefor interested in other peoples views. So the question is.. Could the wings of a wingsuit (zipper or unzipped) wrap a reserve container to the extent of not permitting/hindering a reserve-pilotchute to clear. Wings wrapping around reserve - possible or not?
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
We have a rigger, who has been telling horror story for quite a while now, about some guy in a classic having a delayed reserve opening, due to the unzipped wings of his wingsuit, being wrapped around the container. Given te fact that is was a classic the guy was flying, it seems highly unlikely. And the force a bit of flappy nylon would seemingly never hold or delay a springloaded reserve pilotchute in the container, but you never know. The rigger tested it (with a packing-mat, not with an actual wingsuit) and says its clear that its dangerous. Has anyone ever heard about this 'danger' and/or experienced this exact phenomenon? And (if possible) take some pictures (interested in different brand/size suits) while wearing your wingsuit, arms unzipped, and see if you can wrap your reserve container in the wings (the way it would normally blow back by relative wind) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
Why is that? At 14,50 to 17,50 jump tickets, a weekend in belgium is by far cheeper then anything all major dutch dropzones can offer? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Why? There's mad flocking and flying in NL and Belgium every weekend.. It should take more effort to avoid other wingsuiters then having trouble finding them? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Create a gradient bitmap in photoshop. Create your title on one of the overlay tracks in premiere. Then animate a pan over the gradient image (using zoom and postition in the clip settings>motion dialog) in a track above that one, set the track to hide (little eye icon on the way left of the track) and use this track as a track-matte for the title track. Or just use one of the transitions to get a nearly identical effect. And if its too much work, do it without the fancy titles and put the extra time on the editing of the video itself JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The thing I noticed is that people with less experience tend to be more shaken up by a first spin or unstable exit etc. (if they encounter one) then more experienced jumpers, and tend to be quite harsh on themselves. Where experienced jumpers dont seem to mind a little screwup here or there, the lesser experienced jumpers seem more keen to be perfect wingsuit flyers from jump 1. They (sometimes, not always) seem to want to give themself a lot less time/jumps to go from novice flyer, to experienced wingsuit pilot.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Four-way size comparison: V1,M1,S6,Blade

yea..I know..I have an original birdman S.U.I.T. for FJC's http://www.flylikebrick.com/minishowcase/galleries/16_2007_Zwartberg/08_wim%202ndflight.jpg Im always amazed at how 'new' most of these 'old ladies' look (when compared to some of the newer suits from any manufacturer with a couple of hundred jumps on them). Even with my belly pushing hard, trying to break the zipper *edited for zpelling problemos* JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Aside from some english monkey landing on top of barbed wire and people getting caught on parts of airplanes, of monkeys who FUBAR their suit in high speed exits or other forms of abuse (like me tripping over my bootie, and ripping it off in Empuria) I cant say Ive seen any suits come appart because of stitching problems..? And the rips I have seen in suits where not cause, but usualy made worse by the stitching. With the stitched seem acting as a path for a little hole to develop into a big rip. The classic I is still the most solid and unbreakable suit Ive seen on the whole market. Built like a tank! After that, the quality/strentgh seemed to get less and les. But atm. I dont really see any big differences in sticthing or construction between the top of the line suits from any of the manufacturers (and we had just about every brand but EG suits and pressurised present to compare at the DZ two weeks ago). but if I had to choose one, the Tony suits Mach1 looked to have the most solid construction (stitching and materials). Probably because of tony's previous experience in RW and FF suits.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Dont all suits have double stitching, as in 2 rows of stitches on the important seems? Or isnt that what you mean? Cant say its a difference Ive ever noticed..nor anything Ive ever had issues with? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
