As part of the big boogie offered by Skydive Spa, we wil be present at the dropzone from Wednesday August 29th to Sunday September 2nd to do wingsuit organising/coaching and FJC/1st flight instruction. There wil be a CASA (tailgate) aircraft, there's bunkrooms, good cathered food al days, and we are promised good weather and (ofcourse) a great positive atmosphere! We'll post more info as we're closing in on those dates. The pre-cochstedt weekend page at our website wil also be updated shortly with some additional info, and out phonenumbers for those who need help/directions and the occasional drunk dialing fun. We're also going to try and setup some car-pooling thingy, so people can share cars for the ride to Germany etc. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Seems more like a skill problem. We did flocking jumps in Empuria brava from 4000 meters, easely getting 85 seconds of freefall time (with a first timer flying it, no previous wingsuit experience) flying distances/speeds comparable to what people are doing in classics. http://www.flylikebrick.com/minishowcase/galleries/05_2006_empuria_brava/impact_03_web.jpg JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Make sure you make the move as a roll. Dont 'dive' into your backflying. Also initiate a little upward push as you flip over. If you look at the last video I posted at skydivingmovies (FJC) you see me do a flip to my back, without loosing any altitude. You can also see the little upward push, before rolling over, if you look at the backflying video at www.flylikebrick.com You 'push' with one arm, while you roll over the other one. Make sure you tuck that arm in a bit. And you dont stay on your side too long. Its the wings that are carrying you. If they are away too long, your torso wil start to drop. Looking at your video, the iggest issue is the bending at the waist. Causing your feet to get flung up in the air, and because of that, dropping you down a bit. First perfecting a complete barrelroll without altitude loss is ussualy the best excersise... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Or drop by Holland/Belgium sometime to fly with us! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

First work on learning to fly on your back completely stretched out. With the legwing halfway closed. When you start to learn how to backfly, the legwing tends to overpoweri the armwings. Causing you to dip headdown. Dont look at your own body/toes (sitting up a bit) like you do in this video, but throw your head and shoulder back. Once you get this flying stable for a long ime (and not just a few seconds) slowly work on opening up the legwing more and more. Once you're able to fly completely opened up. Then start looking around. And even sitting up a bit, you'll still be able to fly it all open. Once you get to that stage, learn to fly on your back with other people, instead of passive backflying, them flying to you, learn to navigate and fly towards people. If you flop around, up and down a bit, dont start to counter the wobbling. This will always be your reaction to something that happened a few seconds ago. Only making the movement worse. Kinda resembling Pilot-induced oscillation (PIO) (or pilot-aircraft-coupling) that you see in normal aviation. And dont forget to smile...(which is important, as a relaxed position flies better..being tense, tends to cause wobbling etc) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The poor people wil be bringing their own drinks, and coming for the party at Macca and Jarno's tent! Yea..you read that one right...WE ARE SOOOO SHARING A TENT! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Did you by any chance look at the forum, and see that only 5 posts down, somebody else already posted the same 'news' (which is in about 6 other threads on this forum, not even to mention the wingsuit forum and bonfire, some of those news posts almost dating 1,5 year back)? New video - First flights/Wingsuit Weekend coming up(Belgium)
mccordia replied to mccordia's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I took some of the first flight videos from the past month and threw them together. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=5752 And a big thank you for the belgian crew at hoevenen for the fantastic day. This coming weekend, Schaffen (.be) wil be hosting a big wingsuit event with Rolf Brombach. Be sure to check that one out and join in on some flocking! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
A typical firewire card is around 15 euros here (+-20 dollar) Plug it in, hook up the camera, start your editing software...no installation needed... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Instead of talking about what a suit cant do. can we get back to the orginal suit this thread was about, and talk about what that one CAN do? Slow, fast, stally or superfar and fast. Ive been able to do things both in the creative area as in the speedy flocking/flying section that way surpass what I could do in my S6...the amount of lift in the suit is insane. Watch the latest video from texel at SDM to see some of that... lovin it! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Only V2s Ive seen recently are on sale... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

At the texel event, we had both Hans fly base, in the position he was used to in his former V2. Trying to fly at at a good and easy pace for everyone to follow. He ended up doing a long solo, as his old relaxed position turned out to be near max flight for the people (in lesser suits) on the dive. Hans probably has some comments on this himself, but seemed surprised at the lift in the suit. Costyn had the same experience. Flying like he was used to in his S6, a lazy flying position he had the rest of the people strugling to keep up. The first weekend we flew the blades in belgium, it scared people to see how much lift/forward speed we where getting at breakoff. When comparing it to what I can/could do in my S6, its a huge boost in performance. Throwing myself around the sky. Climbing above/flying around formations doing video was never that easy.. Its my tool of choice.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Closing the legwing is possible for transitions. Like chuck mentioned. The cells stay inflated, but they tuck away behind or in front of the leg in barrelrolls. Once you get the hang of transitions, you can flip over to your back without closing anything (making it more of a flying/carve, instead of a barrelroll) If you check the FLB manual on backflying (near the end, about more aggressive transitions) or the last video from the texel event, you see me do transitions without closing anything. And like a true woman...the best is just getting on your back, and letting her do all the work I love the way she flies! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

No matter what you guys say...this is the best Reynolds number ever!! Who doesnt love a good Reynolds number!? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Most manufacturers have no issues at all with sending patches of fabric, replacement zippers etc. to fix things. Even on very old/used suits.. Just send em an email.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
-
It just depends on the age of the suit. Most suits, when used a lot will need a zipper/zipper head replaced at some point in their career. Ive so far demolished a zipperhead on a classic and a V1. Both suits had been used more then 'a lot' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

http://www.extremeflywear.com/ offers suits with tight fit, and unzippable sleeves/legs for baggy fit. Definately give that one a try! And competitivly priced as well! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

The First South African Aerobatic Wingsuit Competition
mccordia replied to xwind's topic in Wing Suit Flying
a 3 second grip is what we defined as a 'dock' though the handslapping (I think) worked well for this one...The contest definately looked like a lot of fun! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
