  1. Just send Costyn a PM or email, he is the one that made that video. And I think he also made the code publicly available.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. Anyone have any user info/reviews on the new Zeus from Bonehead? (aside from 'its ugly looking', some think its cool appearantly:) A friend of mine is looking into buying a freefly helmet, and only once in a while needs to video a few things (and prefers a topmount) and the Zeus seems like a nice choice for that (views on no cutaway aside) Anyone have any info on how it feels on your head (fit) and if its still tight and snug on your head with a camera on top? Having no chincup it seems like it would not be on your head as tight? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. Haha..no worries...It was a pleasant surprise...not a bad one
  4. Thats just her landinggear..it fits within the suit in flight, and helps maintain the ideal flying position...its the next step in human flight evolution! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  6. Just find a computer that reads the DVD (when its not finalized, DVD burners somehow have a higher succes-rate at reading them) and either copy/burn it to a new DVD. Or find the biggest .VOB file. Rename it to .MPG and use an authoring/burning program to create a new DVD (if 'open' menu's on the old disc are the problem) or just watch the MPG2 file on your computer.. 7. Hey, how did we end up on the bottom of that website?? Nice boogie timewise, sceduled directly after Cochstedt, so a serious option for people who are coming from far, and want to attend more wingsuit boogies and contests.. And hans...dirty clicky-fixer! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. I havent really seen/heard bad vibes.. I think the only bad vibes it got at some point, is when videos where put online with low timers flying through the clouds, completely lost as to what they where doing. And the critique was based on them being taken up in the suit.. From what Ive seen at Empuria, the Tracer is a step in between the tracking gear made by PF/BM etc, and almost comparable to a Classic/Prodigy in terms of wingspan/area. I havent flown one, but would gladly take one up for a spin.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  9. Its the J-Lo model I made for the wingsuit landing video, for the Herc boogie, 3 years ago. J-Lo is not the singer with the fat as, but Jean-Louis becker.. The model is a skyflyer1, and (in terms of detail and mechenical workings) an update is way overdue. I've been wanting to start on a new wingsuit model (more detailed, maybe even different models) but at the moment, 'real work' seems to keep me a bit too busy... Still manage to squeeze these things in there.. Glad everyone likes em..if you have any idea's, hints or suggestions for new video tutorials..do send a PM JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  10. I love the S6..it was my favorite suit for a long, long, loooong time.. Stable, fast, and even suitable for aerobatics/backflying etc. Hope to fly with ya someday soon dude! And take a picture in the office! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Thanx.. We had plenty of video material on swoops and flares (and people going low in a formation) But aside from video thats cool to look at. in 99% of the videos is not really clear to really see what inputs people are giving to get the results. When swooping a backflyer, people are already approaching in a dive. So arms/legs may already be in different positions then normal/optimal flight. And your backflyers perspective would also not show what the person was doing from the same clear side-view that we can use in these animations. Doing this video with 3D visualisation was the only was I felt we could clearly show people what it is your body is doing. Though real footage would be nice, I dont think it would make it any clearer then the current 3D graphics do. Depending on what we want to show in the next manuals, and which method shows it clearer, we'll use either video or 3D animation or a combination of the two (all in the same Pimpin' orange style ofcource) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. After a few nights of fun in front of my computer, the next installment of our video tutorial series is done. Seeing its sometimes difficult to find the right footage to clearly illustrate things, I decided to try give you guys something new. If you go to our website and click on the Video Flight Manuals you will find chapter #6 - Forward speed. You have the option to view online or download Enjoy! news - We started a mailinglist for .eu boogie/WS weekend info, 2nd hand suits, video updates etc. If you want to be added to that one (probably only interesting for belgian/dutch/german people) send an email to flylikebrick%gmail.com - We also made a lot of text updates (some new info on coaching, previous events etc) and before the weekend, we'll also be adding a big batch of new photos, and (depending on how much sleep I need) a video from our past wingsuit weekend in Zwartberg (Belgium) - Our pre-Cochstedt pages at [url]http://www.flylikebrick.com/flbweekend2007.php[url] have also been updated with Hotel info for people who hate sleeping in a tent. 18. Isnt birdbabe a more common name for a girl who flies wingsuits? I already know 3 girls calling themself birdbabe in Holland alone..(all deserving the name ofcourse) Hehehe..Im glad to "Mc" (as in McDonalds) and "Astma Boy" are the only nicknames that seem to have stuck so far.. Not that thats where the Mc in McCordia came from...But Ill tell ya my full name around a campfire sometime.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Aside from normal nicknames, I dont know a lot of wingsuiters with wingsuit specific nicknames... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

    Would...

Same here...students who freefly/track a lot seem to score a bit higher on flying in a good body posture from the start. People with an RW history do seem more at ease with docking and relative flying straight from the start in the ones Ive seen so far... Freeflyers seem more prone to 'reach' for a grip...RW people seem to know reaching is bad and have more airtime 'holding hands' JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. We had a great weekend! Big 'thank you' for everyone who attended!! Saterday started of with bad weather. 1000 ft cloud cieling, high winds and almost horizontal rain. So some of the group took to laptop nerding at the DZ while we also used the bad weather to run the groundschool for the people who wanted to make their first flight the next day. With lots of bored freeflyers and FS people watching the FJC, it soon developed into a lengthy Q&A session. With the onlookers asking more and more questions about wingsuit flight. After about 2 hours, almost everyone present must have been ready to write a book on wingsuitflight We ended the day, having dinner in a nice restaurant. Sunday started of with clear blue skies, and got slighly more cloudy as the day passed. But the cloud cieling never got bellow 12K (only giving us a bit of 'industrial haze' as we exited the airplane at 13k) After running through the whole FJC again briefly in the morning (just to make sure the information didnt get lost in the 2 hour Q&A session the previous day) Costyn and I started taking people up on their first flights. We converted 4 skydivers into Birdmen that day, and all of them flew fantastic. Congratulations Wim, Jurgen gaston and Luc! The last one, Luc, currently ranking #1 at trackingderby.com for normal tracking, way surprised us with the forward speed he managed to milk from the BM classic we use for our FJC on his first jump. Flying in a body posture some of us with 100+ flights would envy. But all 4 of them flew perfect. Some even getting in some docks on their first jumps already. While Costyn and I where busy taking them up on their first few jumps, Alex took the group of experienced birds, and over the day organised and coached them to flying tighter and tighter. Most people in the group had not done any real big flocks yet, so it was a learning experience for almost everyone involved. Not achieving slotperfect formations, visualy improving each and everyones approach and proximity to the base on every jump. Hans (aka gadget) did a great job at flying Base on those jumps. Giving everyone a steady and smooth flying point to focus on and fly towards. All the group jumps where briefed and debriefed with video by Alex. Giving everyone honest but positive comments and pointers on their flying. We ended the day with a nice dinner at a nearby restaurant with the whole group. Over the next few months, we'll be visting several belgian DZ's for big and small (sometimes impromptu) wingsuit days/weekends. (More announcements on those dates and events coming soon) Ive already started working on a short video of past weekend (in the train to work:) this morning, so hopefully Ill have the video online before next weekend. In total we had 16 birds present, flying (next to a few S3/Phamtom and Classics) almost every top of the line suit from the different brands avaiable today (Mach1, V2, Matter, Sfly and Blade). Thank you all for coming, and hope to see you again next time! Jarno www.flylikebrick.com p.s. The photo was taken at the end of the day, when some people had already left, so theres three people 'missing in action' here. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  22. Just like last year, there will be several groups. Aimed at newby flyers, experienced flyers etc Having more experience, will enable you to enjoy flying slots on some of the bigger and/or more technical dives... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. Yea...but if you hit something in your wingsuit while flying close to an object, no amount of body armour is going to help you And if you want to flying close to objects, risking almost hitting them the whole way down, and then open close to them, again risking a hit (while your arms are wrapped up in sleeves, sligly delaying your reactiontime in avoiding impact/collision) you already seem to be on the far end of the risk-scale. And no amount of body armour is going to help you 'feel safe' (as the post quoted before it was edited) If you want body armour for added protection, cool...but if its the thing you need to give you a (false?) sense of security because you feel naked without it........? But a discussion on this subject is already on the way in the baseforums I guess..back to the original thread...lots of body armour under a wingsuit, can it be done? I know 2 layers of extra sweaters/clothing worn underneath my wingsuit (in the winter) already make me look like a stuffed toy, and limits me in my movement.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. Not that I have seen the suit ofcourse....but suppose I did Cool to see wingsuit design evolve and try out different designs instead of just upscaling and recycling previous ideas from themselves and competitors, making wings bigger and bigger.. Loic is throwing the people a curve ball here.. People will definately be curious and eager to see about this suits performance when its unvieled next month in Gap... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  25. Isnt the body protection mostly for object strikes? If you fly your wingsuit well, proximity to objects should not be a problem. But maybe Im just looking at it too simple.. With the tight fit of a wingsuit, wearing body protection underneath could limit your range of movement when all zipped up (maybe even affecting the speed at which you unzip) But this is all just pure speculation on my behalf. Robi/James/Vesa etc are probably the right people to ask this question.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
