It was only ment as a short question regarding what I saw in the video. Starting a complete new thread seemed a bit overdone.. But if one of the greenies wants to maybe split this off into a seperate thread...(?) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

More a question than a comment, but interested in your answer/views on this one..? Should helmet/dytters be of common use for FFCs? Dont know if this was was one of those mega experienced skydivers who has done so many jumps he doesnt want/need the added audio reminders and head-protection for an FFC. Ive had one old RW flyer who had never used a helmet/audible in 3000+ jumps, and refused to wear one on his FFC, but in general I think wearing a helmet and having an audible is a good idea? Seen people do nasty swings in their harnas during opening, which could give em real nasty cuts on the ears. Plus on the exit, when concerning unexperienced jumpers, hitting the rear stabilo/tailwing of the plane with ones head is more than a real risk....small but real.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Would rock to have all jumpers flying smoke...that would look insane on the ground..and even moreso on breakoff JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

What is the wingsuit mod for containers?
mccordia replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Wing Suit Flying
If I had put that childish answer in my above post, instead of trying to have an intelligent discussion with you that would also effectivly show my inability to talk about said subject more, beyond the level of quoting other peoples writing and throwing around names... That Its like fluctuating jumpnumbers in peoples DZ.com profile...you never know how many of those they really made.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
What is the wingsuit mod for containers?
mccordia replied to skittles_of_SDC's topic in Wing Suit Flying
yea...that was pretty clear right from the start.. Im pretty aware who John Sherman is, having heard several big names (in both wingsuit flying and regular skydiving) mention him in less than positive light...Claims such as "i invented the closing pin" and such...thats the guy right? Trying to link Bill Booth, Ted Strong etc. to the statements John Sherman makes is quite low. And when it comes to real life situations, we have more malfunctions/cutaways/no mains due to baglock (the main/deployment bag getting caught in the tray) and the low-drag on the pilotchute during opening not pulling the Dbag out, than Ive heard ANY case of physics not working as they should, creating the campos-mall.. Again..as you always have an awesome way of typing a lot, throwing names around, but skimming around an actual answer; Please EXPLAIN how a pin can be removed from a container by a pilotchute at full bridle extention, then have the bag and linestows removed by the same drag/force of that pilotchute. And THEN having the pilotchute make a 8 meter leap back into your burble. Defying 100 mph (or more) relative wind working against it.. John Sherman: The pilot chute had burbled and the bag had floated off my back. So what he is saying, is that a pilotchute which went straight into his burble, somehow did manage to pull the pin, and open his container and drag the bag out? Sounds more like someone who needs to ask for a pin-check before boarding a plane, to make sure its nice and tight, and not use a 20 cm wide reserve-bridle which has soo much drag it could pull out a canopy if needed (Next to doing a proper throw). The cut corners on skydiving gear, are nothing more than a (be it often not needed) modification, making its function similar to that of a basejumping rig (on which the deploying canopy and lines should have a conciderable larger chance at overtaking the pilot, in terms of the drag they have, compared to a normal D-Bag). You are trying to make a normal horse-shoe malfunction not AT ALL related to open corners into something completely different.. Im sure it'll makes a great fiction chapter for your new book though Do with this information what you will...that's your right and decision to make JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
From what I got, last week of March/first week of April is when its expected to be in stores (DSE might have more accurate date on that one). Cookie composites also mentioned already having a Dbox for this one in the works, and available as soon as it hits the market JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

I think DSE is catching some naptime in between the jumping, editing, posting and moderating and other bezillion things he seems to be doing at the same time.. Is it just me, or does that 'Out of the Vault' video look like a collection of big pixels in 16 colours? I see some blocky stuff on what I think is an incredibly cool high skyvan exit etc. Shame, as the content looks like a lot of fun.. Any chance at a decent quality version on that baby? We also plugged your videos on our world wide wingsuit news blog JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Our mailinglist with active Dutch, Belgian and a few German wingsuit flyers already has way over a hundred people on there. And in terms of Germany, we dont even have a fraction of the active wingsuit flyers out there on that list. I think you already pass 150 wingsuit flyers by just grouping these three countries... There's more of us than you think.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

What is the wingsuit mod for containers?

If you want to have an in depth explanation on how the wings of a classic can wrap your rig and keep a reserve canopy inside of a container, I thoroughly encourage you to contact our dutch master rigger and examinator directly. And I can find a few other people with lots of riggers papers or other cool things on their resume who are more than willing to tell you a load of BS in an effort to sell a book, service or a piece of gear.. But does that make it any more real/true? That sayd, I also I thoroughly encourage you to actually read what you posted. As the only way a pilotchute (which pulls the pin out) can be overtaken by the lines/Dbag, is by having someone not have proper tension on his pin, and somehow have the drag on his bridle pull the pin out, and initiating deployment before he let go of the pilotchute (simple physics actually). Which again..is just one of the most basic horse-shoe malfuntions with which cut corners on a rig have nothing to do with. Just making sure your closing loop is nice and tight does... Although I do compliment you on your efforts on plugging your sponsor/rig.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -
2009 Elsinore event will be a 100-way... wait, what?
mccordia replied to Costyn's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I didnt see James comment on the safety anywhere Glen? Seem to only read something about working together to come up with some clear definitions on what would help us build towards an official certification of past en present record attempts. As to the (awesome) 'icecreambuffet at the special olympics' comparison..Just speaking for myself, Seeing people you know very well getting seriously hurt due to people T-boning them in chaotic bigway jump plans tends to make you a bit more aprehensive about those kind of things. That caution seems to have been taken as some form of attack by others in the past... I think last year showed that the organisers put a lot of work into the organisation safetywise, and showed that this kind of thing can be done without turning it into a big scary junkpile of bodies flying in all kinds of directions. Seeing more and more of these big formation events is an awesome development. Especialy when it comes to raising the standard in terms of load organising and sefety in flying. Dont loose yourself in pointing fingers and slapping people on the wrist because they had some different experiences than you in the past... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? -

Its both sports that emerged from what was orginaly only intended as an emergency procedure... Regardless of namecalling from one sport to another...the general whuffo public thinks we're suicidal idiots regardless of which one we practice... And who cares...it wont make me enjoy my next jump one bit less JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

He does custom versions per client.. Having it made as the attached image would enable you to land with the thing one (be it a bit limping). he could even have the articulated mount on the end, so you're flexible in where you point/aim the camera.. Just drop him a line..he's always cool making costum soliutions. made me some brilliant stuff in the past (and he's an active wingsuit flyer) JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

Covers for the new DVD's to be released.... SOON
mccordia replied to scottygofast's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Yea..the DVD clips on youtube and vimeo are nice.. Looking forward to seeing the complete DVD. And also eager to know what else is on there.. To those who PM-ed/mailed me and other people from FlockU/FLB looking for conspiricies and bitch fights... The more information and instruction there is on wingsuit flying, the better. And even though (as some people seemed to take Maccas comment) its easy to go into similar territory when it comes to video and/or instruction, The worst that could happen is that people have more choice when it comes to what they want to do and learn. And it also pushes everyone to work harder making better and better teaching materials...which benefits safety and skills a lot in the long run.. This is why I gladly supported the guys in their DVD efforts, and also got to assist with some small graphics contributions..and Im looking forward to the final result, and actually think its the first commercialy available information of this sort (besides the very basic FFC/wingsuit info already out there.) If you're looking for a fight, watch WWF or Jerry Springer...if you want to jump, fly and have fun...come to a dropzone and leave the drama at home Good stuff guys...
