  1. Hello everybody, Once again, we have joined forces with the Dutch freefly initiative ToraTora, and will be going on a wonderfull fieldtrip outside of Europe. This time we will be touching down (and taking of) from Aerograd Kolomna near Moscow(Russia) for a week of fun flying, and lots of individual attention for creative flying skills. Docks, flying points, backflying. You name it. We will have small groups and everyone gets a set amount of 1-on-on jumps included in the boogie, so the number of slots are limited. What we offer: coached jumps in small groups. 1-on-1 jumps all jumps with video hotel and airport transportation 2 person room or hotel at the DZ visum invitation 4 L210 Turbolet aircraft, 1 MI8 helicopter optional: tunneltime with (freefly) coaching in the (cheap) 16ft FreeZone tunnel There will be 2 boogie weeks, so you can choose which one to join. The weeks start June 6 and June 13 For more in depth information, to register, and read about the packages offered, see the boogie info on here (constantly updated) For those with a freeflying spouse, the trip can also be booked/joined freeflying. For more information on that one, click here JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  2. pussy... Just make him base/bunny for the 100 way on his first flight....what could possibly go wrong! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  3. this suit had about 800+ jumps by the time this picture was taken. It looks slightly grey/yellow-ish up close due to the sunlight. But in general, white as can be for pix and video. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  4. We can put together a project group? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  5. can I ad: fun JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  6. Ive flown a white suit for a long time, and up close it will look like a rag. The white will turn yellow-ish. Every stain shows. But on video/photos, it always looks purdy....so...yes... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  7. Its something like this. Most stores have em. And yea...my teammate Alejandro had hardly ever jumped a phantom before the recent competition in Italy (I think 4 or so previous jumps in Soulac), and was also amazed at the ease of flying (belly and back) and how little fabric the suit seems to have, but how that small surface area seems to 100% translate to performance. As fun as flyby's and max jumps in big tarps are..its also my favorite suit for most formation and all round flying. And due to the fact that you have to fly it more (compared to lazy hanging in fabric, such as the Stealth etc in formations) its also so much more responsive on turns etc. And as you mention...due to the wings being quite sane in size, still a perfect beginners suit. Though with a bit of practice, all you'll ever need JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  8. Small unrelated note, be carefull with Iphones etc in pockets/wings etc. Sucks finding out another jumper cracked your screen when sitting inside a cramped plane.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

  10. I often wear one of those 'travel bags' around my neck for my phone/mp3 player. That so I also have it with me during packing/walking etc (when the wingsuit is not on me). JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  11. Impressive video Matt! Epic stuff! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  12. In all media Ueli's flight is quoted at 5'45" counting exit till landing. So that one includes canopy time. If anyone has info on what the actual freefall time was, and think it should be listed as well, just shoot me an email and Ill ad it to the list.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  13. Most of the names you mention, are part of the same 'secret' club. Its really nothing more than a group of people who took a lot of ideas and brainstorming from dz.com and advice/questions from other people in and out of the sport, and tried to come up with something we'd like to present, and see if we can (as a community) maybe develop this further. We just want to make our initial briefing (within the next two/three days) we will show something complete to start with. And than take it from there. What we are working on as a group isnt as heavily focussed on just 'judging' formations, but hopefully will give everyone something more for general/everyday use as well. With the discussion (FINALY!) going on here, I look forward to seeing what you all think. As promised...more (real) soon!. And appologies for the brief shroud of secrecy. 14. Browsing for more news, I noted that Birdman.com only a few weeks ago named Japanese wingsuit pilot Shinichi Ito as a runner up for the longest freefall (with a freefall time of 5'22" from an altitude of 33,5k). Though an awesome long freefall, there are at least 2 longer freefalls above that one (and by now actually 4): Sgt. Ben Borger (with 24k exit) and 5:40 *If anyone known Ben Borgers exact freefall time, please let me know! And our own DZ.com regular Mike Masheff (aka IslandGuy) already having flown an incredible 5:28 from 22.050 ft Definately performances worthy of noting in the short history of these (official and unofficial) time records. Especially since Ben, Mike (and others) had 10k less altitude to work with. Because its a geeky and fun aspect of wingsuit flying, Ive made an overview on past and current flights at Wingsuitnews.com If anyone wants to assist in doing rough calculations of the estemated sustained freefall speed (mph) for all current records, also give a shout JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  15. Great video! The batton shots are way cool to watch! Would be even funnier/more interesting video if someone accidently dropped the thing! And Scotty...love your logo animation man JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  16. http://news.flylikebrick.com/2009/10/worlds-longest-freefall-647-from-30000.html 6'47" Danggg! Hope they had some nice songs on their Ipod, and a long massage afterward, cause damn thats a long haul! That must have been killer for their arms! Though the freefall times from lower (14k) altitude jumps quoted here on dz.com hint at around 9 minutes easily being possible from 39k, keep in mind that once you get past 3 minutes, performance decreases rapidly due to arm-strain and lactic accid buildup. The fact that they managed to do so with a ton of additional gear, and flying a loose 3 way formation makes it all the more impressive. Cant wait to see the looooooong video! 17. Washing your wingsuit - earlier thread. Hope my post doesnt get deleted for mentioning there already was a thread on this one...! Good stuff there.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

And mine...yea...reaal close....been editing on it on and off, between 20.000 other project etc. But its close to done....like Scotty said! Premiere should be reaaaal soon! JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  19. Fasted...you are incredibly close to something a big projectgroup has been working on the past few months... More will be revealed in a few days... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  20. Do a first flight course...demo both...make an educated purchase that fits your flying style :) the wingsuitcompetition video just posted show sfly, phantom side by side...both fly great in hands of good (and lesser) pilots.. JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  21. With a big thank you to James Boole for the great editing work, the video for the past edition of the 2nd International Artistic Wingsuit Competition (held in Terni, Italy past September) is now online! Check it out on the special videopage! There are two videos to watch, the International teams, and the National teams (who also competed in the International pool of course). Check it out! And see you all (and hopefully lots of nex teams!) again next year! http://www.wingsuitcompetition.com/wscomp2009/videoroom.html The page is not yet linked through the main website page, but will be done shortly! 22. So just because there isnt a picture perfect alternative, looking at the current grid system, and trying to find points to improve isnt deemed worthy? There isnt anything else...so shut up and accept this one? All I (and most people here) are asking for is a point of input....yet it seems every effort made to point out some shortcomings (deeming the FAI/BPA etc acceptance push thats now appearantly happening quite rushed and premature) is waved off with 'you are a**holes...leave us alone' Look at the proposed formation 'fantasy' picture posted earlier, and tell me what you (Phill, Taya, Jeff etc) would say if someone submitted that one as a valid state/world/whatever record? Its always easy looking at the bright and shiny examples...but part of development is also looking at where it fails...and try and improve on those points... JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  23. So shouldnt testing and analysing how the current system performs, and than refining and improving the current system be the next step, instead of working with BPA, PSA, FAI etc. to get this system accepted? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
  24. With the grid being pushed quite active, wouldnt an evaluative 'pause' or trial year, after which you evaluate and accept input from the whole community based on the currently accepted USPA grid-standard help raise the judging parameters to a standard thats use-able for many years to come? As now we seem to be locking ourselves down on something that may seem like bliss now (recognition! whooho!) but could severly work against us in the future if we ever try to massivly change/update/upgrade the judging parameters. Seeing the attached 25 way pass judging as a 25 way diamond/record, I think it clearly show there is a lot of room for further development, thinking and (public!!!) brainstorming. I wouldnt want to see a picture like this posted as a record anywhere. Would you? Its a community thing, so it should be open to feedback from the whole community IMHO? JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
