I thought 2 of the options were redundant, not enough, already iplies you would like more. Another option could've been; yes I get enough but would still like more! I voted not enough but in reality, I get my share and when jumping at my home dz, I usually get enough to last the week anyway.

OH, YES !!!!!!!! Four Major League Baseball fans went rock climbing: a Yankee fan, a Red Sox fan, a Cardinal fan, and an Astros fan. They had been arguing all the way up the mountain about who amongst them loved their team more and was the most "diehard" fan. The argument grew hotter and hotter and the four fans grew more and more agitated. Such was the emotion that upon reaching the top of the mountain, the Yankee fan proclaimed loudly and earnestly to the other three, "This is for the New York Yankees!" and without a moment's hesitation threw himself off the mountain. The supreme sacrifice! Not to be outdone by a Yankee fan, the Red Sox fan jumped up and cried out, "This is for the Boston Red Sox!" and quickly threw himself off the mountain, also willing to sacrifice himself to prove his devotion to his team. Refusing to be outdone by the Yankee and Red Sox fans, the Astros fan rose to his feet, summoned up every ounce of his courage, and yelled at the top of his lungs, "This is for the Houston Astros!" and without a moment's hesitation shoved the Cardinals fan off the mountain. GO ASTROS!

...and another thing Margarine or butter? If you answered "butter," I've got some information that will make you glad you did. Last week an HSI member sent me an e-mail that had been forwarded multiple times, but appears to have originated from L. Eugene Arnold, M.Ed., M.D.; a Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Ohio State University. Here's what Dr. Arnold writes: "Do you know the difference between margarine and butter? * Both have the same amount of calories. * Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams. * Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study. * Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods. * Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added! * For most people, butter tastes better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods. (The best flavor claim margarine can make in ads is that it tastes the same as butter.) * Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years. "And now, for Margarine... * Very high in trans fatty acids. * Triple risk of coronary heart disease. * Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) * Lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol). * Increases the risk of cancers by up to five fold. * Lowers quality of breast milk. * Decreases immune response. * Decreases insulin response. "And here is the part that is very interesting! Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC. This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance). "You can try this yourself: purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things: no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something) It does not rot or smell differently. Nothing will grow on it - not even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast? "Share This With Your Friends - (Butter them up.) "Additional info: Children who eat butter or drink whole milk with butterfat have better resistance to infection. "P.S. This was not sponsored by the dairy industry." I've heard some of these facts before, but some of them were new to me, so I asked HSI Panelist Allan Spreen, M.D., for his take on the list, and he didn't hesitate: "Absolutely true. The guy's read my book. In it, I call margarine 'plastic butter.' It's very, very bad stuff. I cheat and have to drink city water sometimes. But I try never to do that with margarine." The book that Dr. Spreen refers to is his "Nutritionally Incorrect: Why the American Diet is Dangerous and How to Defend Yourself" (Woodland Publishing). Plastic butter! Will you ever go within ten feet of margarine again? To Your Good Health, Jenny Thompson Health Sciences Institute

Personally I've never heard of it but I could live on regular steamed broccoli!

Amazing! They said that we (Astros) didn't have much of a chance at 0-2 when we should have taken care of business in the first 2 in St. Louis!

The Death of the Twinkie from Dr.WC Douglass
jumperconway replied to jumperconway's topic in The Bonfire
RIP for an "American classic" killer I wish I could say I'm going to shed a tear for the demise of the hostess Twinkie, but alas, I cannot muster one. Nor can I turn on the waterworks for Wonder Bread and those modern junk-food classics, the Ho-Ho and the Ding Dong. For all of these are products of Interstate Bakery, the nation's largest wholesale bakery - a company that's not much longer for this world, if all that's just in the cosmos has anything to say about it. A few weeks ago, this leviathan of the junk-food industry filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to USA Today. Some blame the Atkins diet and the current trend in low-carbohydrate eating for the move, but some analyst sources quoted in the piece cite a failure to innovate since their 1950s heyday that has spelled doom for the company. But how much more can you really innovate refined flour and sugar? Whatever the reason this giant has been felled, I say: Good riddance. And in case anyone thinks I'm being a little too hard on the old Twinkie and friends, let me offer this reminder as a sort of eulogy. It's the list of just a few of the 28 ingredients in these little death- bombs, complete with a translation of what they really are. Ready? Here goes: Enriched wheat flour (flour that's been bleached, starched and de- nutritionized) Sugar (self-explanatory) Corn syrup (more sugar) High-fructose corn syrup (more sugar yet) Partially hydrogenated soybean, cottonseed, or canola oil (trans- fats) Dextrose (even more sugar) Modified cornstarch (glucose polymers - more simple sugars) Cornstarch (Yay! More sugar!) Corn flour (refined to worthlessness, of course) Corn syrup solids (you guessed it - another type of sugar) Dextrin (a starch/sugar hybrid) Wow, that's 8 different kinds of sugar, three kinds of starch, and a dollop of killer trans-fats. Yum! The other 17 ingredients are largely preservatives and colorings. I could only find four ingredients on the whole list that were at least somewhat good for you: Eggs, whey, salt and water. No doubt, the ingredient list for Ho-Hos and Ding Dongs reads similarly, and I KNOW there isn't a single redeeming ingredient in Wonder Bread. That stuff's been making us into a nation of pasty- faced diabetics for years. So shed no tears for the Twinkie and its brethren - they're good only for killing us. Their maker's bankruptcy is a healthy victory for all Americans. -
